If I use the power, vigs might not succeed and the more that attempt kills, the more likely it'll be that I die.

I'll let you choose: Send the vigs out or let me try to save some townies.

Honestly, that would work for me. I get protected instead tonight and maybe you stop a kill and prove yourself in the process.

I will say, make your own choice though, so its not glaringly obvious to scum what all will happen. But take into consideration masterded's role character (maybe he's a Don) and make sure Imac has Prophet locked up.

Weigh all that as well.

Day 9

The people of Mafia-Ville gathered in the center of town and discussed their situation, while this moderator spread the gospil of Cook's D (read: sorry, I teach on Monday & Wednesday nights, thus the delay in vote counts and this write-up). The discussion was heated today and, some might say, uncomfortable.

Finally, the crowd settled on a target and quickly they gathered around him.

How did things come to this? No matter.

In his reality, this would not have happened. And yet, this was the OVER 9000-verse and his fate was assured. Still, he would give them no satisfaction as he marched to his death.

Moments later, masterded was dead. Some might call this a great victory. Only time would tell.

Once again, the man with a gun made his move. And once again, another person was delivered to jail.

masterded is dead. He was Norman Osborn, Dark Avengers Aligned Leader and Iron Patriot.

Prophet has been arrested, is in jail, and currently cannot speak in the thread.

Holy crap, I go away for a night and several hours and the whole thread decides to go nuclear. Looks like Anti was right, now the big, currently unanswerable, question for me is: was Masterded the killer (energy blasts fits in line with both Iron Patriot and Sentry/Void)? Because if so then that's the got to be the end of one scum faction.

Although I guess there's not really any easy way out if he was the last.. since only a single kill could be down to jailing, blocking, or godknowswhat.

If there is still one DA left, and therefore another 2 AAs left, then the Bak42-not-actually-Toushirou-Hitsugaya-but-instead-Mr-Freeze theory is something. It'd at least be worth finding out why he chose to skip the night phase when the Joker had just been killed. I asked him that the day after it came out but never got an answer (although it may just have got lost in the shuffle).

I guess I'm also curious as to if Masterded's outting gets us closer to incriminating/clearing Prophet or mjd. It sounds like the night phase will pretty much clear both of those up, though.

I went to go get a spontaenious what-rhymes-with-"mascetomy". Big surprise to me, turns out you don't even need to book in advance to get a what-rhymes-with-"masectomy"! Just call them up on the day and be like "yeah I wanna get it done" and bam, got a booking in a couple of hours.

I shortened Night Phase works better as a town ability, since it prevents kills. However, we should only assume Bak could only shorten a night phase if we fully accept his character claim.

Could be Mr Freeze could have a choice of shortening a Day or Night phase, and chose to bypass N7 to hurry up the replacement of there departed Don.

That is all very feasible. But no way I can prove it, myself.I chose to shorten N7 there had been some question as to whether or not I actually still had my ability.

Completely off-topic, well kinda, but I remember in the Simpson's game the mafia had the option of "cutting the power" and ending a night phase early.

Worth considering I guess.

Be forewarned, everyone: Anyone who went out last night had a 50/50 shot of being redirected to me. Take this into account when weighing the value of your results. I mean, if your target says "Player X is this or that", I'd trust it. If it just says "Your Target", be careful.

There's no clear evidence of Scarecrow, but it'd make some sense for both scum groups to have 5 members and Scarecrow would definitely be the one to round out the Arkham group.

I'm pretty sure that earlier on Astil said that he got a result saying that Prophet was a female. That part may have just been conjecture, but hopefully if he's about he can clarify the gender of Proph

Dakin is his name. If there really does happen to be six on each team, then I can at least say that Scarecrow is less likely for a sixth Arkham Asylum member, simply for the fact I never got round to putting him in any iteration of the mod (including no pictures cut). So unless it's part of a d_w_w customized database I'd probably look more towards Killer Croc or Mr. Freeze (the night skip still hasn't been explained) being the sixth.

Still, my gut says that Norman Osborne was the last of the DA, just going off of the writeups. I'm sure The Sentry/Void can also do blasts out of his hands, but I'd just imagine he'd be written up more, I dunno, more powerful?

He was already on the suspicious list (one down from masterded) and last night's phase doesn't really seem to help his case any. Yep, that's all. Skipping a night phase is a pretty townie thing to be doing. If I thought that 100% cleared him I wouldn't have put him on the list, but he's more cleared than most people on there.

I did not use it on Jman. I am not sure if I used it on someone who was protecting Jman. For obvious reasons I really don't want to say who I used it on because if one of the two people I used it on was protecting Jman well then I would out them as being a protector.

One problem with the Jailing/Lprock thing is that both killers seem to be linked to scum groups.

Meaning we don't have a solo SK. Both killers have Don's who, one would assume, just assign anotehr scum member the kill should their usual killer be incarcerated.

Yes this is right, also who targets them gets switched as well to the other person. The other one is a little more tricky but I highly doubt that I will use that one so nobody has reason to think about it.

I am around but I don't really care about voting. I usually make bad choices when I decide to vote so I am going to hold off for now.

And lprock I look at it like this. If you are Justice aligned, the quicker you claim, and are believed, the faster we can turn to a half dozen or so alternatives.

I will say that I targeted Lprock because I felt he could not do anything any way so why not waste it on him. The other person so far has come across to me as a town leader thus far and I felt that the scum might mark him for death. So I switched him for Lprock, granted I do not know what would happen to either him or Lprock by doing that but I thought the chances of me messing up the game were less by doing it that way.

I've hinted at it, might as well come out and say it to remove any doubt or confusion.

The Marvel masons tried to recruit Prophet the night Trypio killed Jman. I know this because we were in contact with the Marvel Masons at one point in the game. Don't worry, it was a function of the game.

Derek didn't raise the issue then, (and here I have to make an assumption because by this point the communication had stopped) because the following day phase it was obvious that Lprock was a scum hitman, and probably didn't see the need to out himself to make the case against Prophet.

I didn't bring it up because

1) The write up could be construed as having someone switched

2) Derek didn't mention it himself the following day, so on the off chance recruitment did go through, I stayed silent

3) I wanted to keep the possibility of the marvel Masons still being in the game open, to see if I could get scum to claim as them (see my early questioning on both prophet and Masterded last day phase)

4) I wasn't completely sure about prophet until enough time had gone by that I was certain I knew the final numbers.

One place to consider, Poison Ivy is female. Who all has claimed or has been shown to be a female character? I can think of four, but I believe all four of them are trustworthy to some degree.

If there aren't any others, and Prophet isn't Ivy, then Ivy's claimed a male character and it won't take but a little careful reading of the write ups to eventually track em down.

Yes, loads. Firstly, the assumption that scum lose their kill for a night when the Don's dead is not always accurate - games vary. Even if they did then there would still be one night kill, so that one was saved. And if that kill went through on bak then he'd never be able to use his ability.

If you look back at the context, I think you'll find the claim wasn't a mistake. Jman had just got a "seems human" result on me, someone else went "that makes him Caleb then", and a couple of others agreed. I woke up to our scum forum declaring my imminent lynch, to which I decided that I had to try and fake hint Dawn, even though she would obviously be in the game. Although I thought that Dawn wouldn't counterclaim (as it was obvious Glory was looking for her), I was expecting Glory to look into me and challenge me. SuperOwens (Glory) did try and make me full claim, but didn't press it too much as it didn't affect his win condition. Even when we accidently killed Dawn thinking it was Conner, some people still thought that perhaps I was hinting Conner.

My other options were to claim Dawn (or Conner) outright, but I would have been lynched earlier. Or to claim some obscure character that "seems human", and then I would have been lynched that turn (remember, this is the game where everyone was able to prove themselves by being in the write up, something I wouldn't have been able to do).

As it turned out I was last scum standing. Sure, I never had the chance to win, but I extended my life by several turns. I'm not sure if there was a better option?

The reason I haven't claimed is because I don't think it will help me at all. There aren't many anime characters in this game, so all of them look like obscure claims. I haven't heard of my chracter, but I know nothing about anime, so could be the most obscure or most famous anime character in the mod. A claim wont prove me - I think it just makes me look a little scummier. Hopefully my town play is doing a better job (despite the fact I've not been on the last two lynches).

Although I thought that Dawn wouldn't counterclaim (as it was obvious Glory was looking for her), I was expecting Glory to look into me and challenge me. SuperOwens (Glory) did try and make me full claim, but didn't press it too much as it didn't affect his win condition. Even when we accidently killed Dawn thinking it was Conner, some people still thought that perhaps I was hinting Conner.

My other options were to claim Dawn (or Conner) outright, but I would have been lynched earlier. Or to claim some obscure character that "seems human", and then I would have been lynched that turn (remember, this is the game where everyone was able to prove themselves by being in the write up, something I wouldn't have been able to do).

As it turned out I was last scum standing. Sure, I never had the chance to win, but I extended my life by several turns. I'm not sure if there was a better option?

The reason I haven't claimed is because I don't think it will help me at all. There aren't many anime characters in this game, so all of them look like obscure claims. I haven't heard of my chracter, but I know nothing about anime, so could be the most obscure or most famous anime character in the mod. A claim wont prove me - I think it just makes me look a little scummier. Hopefully my town play is doing a better job (despite the fact I've not been on the last two lynches).

Plenty of folks in the game still that have come out and admitted to being characters or having roles that are targets for scum. If you aren't one of those, then you get to sleep easy during night phases, no? Hell, why would scum kill you? The longer you hold out, the more suspicious you'll become.

It's not that I won't claim. No-one's asked me for a claim this entire game. If someone wants to pressure me tomorrow they'll have one. However, this won't reduce the pressure on me because it could easily be seen as a fake claim. What it is likely to do is waste more town time looking at me.

At the moment town isn't wasting time on me, and are looking at people who might (and generally are) scum. If I claim more time will be spent looking at me. So I'm actually helping town. Now, this stops if the town puts pressure on me to claim, because then I will be wasting town time. Therefore, when that happens I will claim.

The only time there's been a delay in me asking a question was last night when you asked me if I was out last night. Which I didn't answer because I was asleep, and so I answered as soon as I could.

Day 10

It was not a good 24 hours.

Spent the night in jail. Got out. Now face to face with an angry lynch mob.

She was defeated. On another day, in another situation, she might have used her charm to talk herself out of this situation. Now, it would seem, she had none left to give. With no struggle, the crowd led Prophet to the gallows. She smiled, as the rope draped over her neck. Today, she would die and return to the earth and give one final gift to those that she held most dear.

Her end came quickly.

Just as quickly, the man with the gun sprang into action. And again, another person found themselves in jail.

Prophet is dead. She was Poison Ivy, Arkham Asylum Aligned Plant-Based Seductress.

Guess I'm not too surprised at this, given that the mod-maker still being alive appears to border on some kind of historic miracle in these games.

Note this however, that few--if any--other players have actually tried to lessen the suspicion surrounding me, and that masterded even went out of his way to put me on a threat list which made me appear more questionable (returning "no result" (which I interpret as conveniently giving himself an excuse if I was lynched in turn).

I wouldn't be surprised if it was decided at some stage to keep me about purely because my existence would be a town distraction, which then also would mean less attention for scum.

Anyway, I seriously doubt (knock on wood) that there would be any more than one more of each scum group left, so I'm going to assume it'll be relatively easier to clear/incriminate people since DA and AA won't have any funny-business abilities at their disposal, if that is the case.
