Should be pretty easy to check at night. Most Millers don't go out. If WC moves around at night his claim becomes more suspect.

Seth MacFarlane did a parody of the RR/Wile E. thing, where he finally kills and eats the bird, and is tormented by the void left in his life. It probably could've been done better, but it had comedic moments. And to be fair to the original Wile E, his interactions with Sam were better. The Roadrunner cartoons became a bit redundant, where as his trying to steal sheep from Sam, and their talking to the clock to punch in? That's comedic gold!

Scum can plan and plot whatever, the town usually only has what was given during the day.

Also, in big games, even a townie lynch gives us something to look at in the future. However, the lynch has to go down in such a way that you can actually hold someone accountable or know what you're looking to learn in advance. Just lynching for the hell of it while everyone involved in the lynch votes without any more justification that "Bandwagon! Yay!" gets you nothing.

Who do you hold responsible if you lynch town? Who comes up clear if you lynch scum? What theories can you scratch off the list? What theories can you make from the result?

There has to be a reason. "Just cause" isn't enough.

As for Glotnot: If you claimed, would that immediately clear you, do you think? If so, we can probably just move on, and if you come up again, we'll have somewhere to start.

Finally caught up, glad I mentioned in the sign up thread before I got my role that I'd be out for most of the first day cos otherwise I'd have looked pretty shady by now. :cool:

With that out the way, let it be known that I'm still not very solid on the theme but I've got some residual knowledge of some bits from Marvel Mafia a while back and I know a bit about the Street Fighter games. But I've never downloaded the mod this game is based on so I'm going to be a bit lost til I can find the time to do that... which could be a while yet. I HATE not being in the know about a theme, it makes me feel like a n00bian of the highest order.

Having said that, Destiny looks suspect. Hsi questioning of Zeel reads like "I'm thinking about recruiting you but I'm just going to make sure I can first" and his anti-cult stance is a basic mistake many people make of mentioning something in their own role and taking the opposite stance in the game thread. There's no need for those kinds of posts if you are town.

I also had some other thoughts, but his careful questioning seemed to me to be very.... he seemed to be taking too much care about something. And in conjunction with his other posts that doesn't sit well with me. Some players get free passes into the late game, then when the town is in a crunch, comes the inevitable nail biting about their alignment.

I don't see why certain folks can't be asked questions D1, and if they refuse to supply answers or their answers are suspect, then the appropriate measures should be taken.

It was the Eville game where the cult recruiter went overboard trying to get people to share their info D1, so there is a precedent for that kind of behavior.

But Eville didn't have a specific theme per se. There could be townie characters who would want to look for or try to verify other characters as well.

Fortunately its one of those things that should become more clear after a few phases, though DWW has hinted write ups are gonna be light on details.

I'd agree except I can think of several townie reasons for his behavior as well.

It was the Eville game where the cult recruiter went overboard trying to get people to share their info D1, so there is a precedent for that kind of behavior.

But Eville didn't have a specific theme per se. There could be townie characters who would want to look for or try to verify other characters as well.

Fortunately its one of those things that should become more clear after a few phases, though DWW has hinted write ups are gonna be light on details.

Yeah, have a theory of my own that, if right, would make him town.

One thing I would say with Destiny is if he avoids the game thread he usually posts all over the mafia forum anyway. Could be that he's not about, could be he's finally learnt after I have brought it up about 3 times :p

Arrows has a point. If you think Destiny is purposely avoiding the thread because he's scum, stick with it. If you think that regardless of what allignment Destiny is he's going to waste town resource tonight and time tomorrow, and it could be better to lynch him and use that resource elsewhere (even if he turns up town), stick with it.

I think his original opinion may have just been him agreeing with me and others that pretty much had the same "If he doesn't speak, lynch him" mindset.

I'm pretty stunned by the rush on Destiny, but I'm not taking away my vote. Maybe he's not around. Maybe he doesn't want to reveal his power role. Maybe he's scum and is pretty confident that he wont be a Day 1 lynch with nothing solid, regardless of the pressure. However, without him saying anything I believe he'll be a drain on town resources, and we may be able to learn more from his death - not just by looking at votes, but by directing abilities elsewhere.

The Destiny direction intrigues me (so much so that I believe this is my first "serious" post of this game, but in my defense, I'm a fool, so I tend not to waste serious moments. lol) and there's something he said earlier that gives me pause. I'm not going to elaborate, because it's presenting an "out", and if he is a cultie looking for more hooded druids to follow in his shadow, the last thing he needs is me planting a ready made excuse out for him.

That said, I don't believe that to be the case. If I remember earlier progress (IE - Prophet doesn't take notes), I think I understand what was going on, but I could be misreading. I will, however, reserve my vote unless it becomes warranted.

All valid points, and I'll be the first to admit that I spend day 1 being this giant asshat, who jumps and dances and does stupid jokes. It's not until day 2, when I have information, be it role, or write up, to work off of, that I tend to get more serious. That's just my personal playstyle.

I will also say, as it pertains to answers, or thoughts to follow, although I do see that aspect, if I were to vote on someone who I have thoughts of being town, how's that help anything? Besides painting me in a negative light, ya know? I'm not advocating not lynching, as I presented an idea without much backing it, for presented reasons. I'm just saying I'm not gonna help push it down the hill at this juncture. Now if Destiny comes on, and says "oh, I did this and that, because I'm this guy, and wanted to know whatever" and it doesn't match the thought I had, or it presents itself with an obvious miscue in logic, then yea, I'll hop on and try to lynch an SK or scummie. Even though no-one has said anything about it, apologies for disappearing earlier. I had meant to say something more but my connection was playing silly person for a while so I just headed off wenching. Seemed like a good idea at the time... and it was. :)

Destiny's lack of posting is now a concern given his probing questions earlier. As others have said, if we lynch now I won't have any problems with it and that makes several experienced players saying that. As others have also said, the town seems to rest on it's laurels and play very cautiously early on which is not good for the town in the long run. After modding Pokemon, I'll be happier to see a more aggressive townie game here.

As for Wrestling Century. As a miller, you have effectively put yourself forth as a last resort lynch for any future days. Apart from showing up scum on investigation, are there any other abilities (active or passive) that you can/have to use?
