I'm liking this plan..by the way Derek, do you agree with me that it's a good idea to continue "playing" at night? A lot of people recently have been saying that the towns in games have gotten relaxed or lazy at points in the game, and I think maybe the fact that we essentially take a break every night phase may have something to do with that.

In all seriousness though, Destiny got my vote at "If I claim I lose my ability." The fact that someone that has the mod confirms that it's unlikely for one of the people he's hinting at being in the game only makes me even more convinced. But this is a discussion that should be held during the dayphase.

Guys, I'm going to take a hiatus from mafia games. I don't know when I'll be back, if ever. Let me post a recap of the events that has lead to this hiatus:

1. Lynched Day 1 of my first game. Okay I thought, can't win them all.

2. Things were going good, up until the Pokemon game. I didn't really understand how to play, so I was truely awful at this game. Although I did decent in Ashburg.

3. In Host, I also did pretty good, even though I didn't win the game.

4. I might've survived Futurama if it wasn't for the big fiasco involving the sort of unlynchable SeanMcFly.

Now keep this in mind. Up to this point, I was still having loads of fun playing games here.

5. I got lynched for TELLING THE TRUTH, Day 1, on the Invader Zim mafia game.

6. Now, the 9000verse game. I have no idea what I did to make it so that everybody got so ticked off at me. I just held back some info and made little lies around it, until people started getting suspicious. That's when I told everybody everything, and yet, they still didn't believe me. As a matter of fact, that's when they started piling the votes on.

You guys keep telling me to tell the truth, yet I am getting everybody ticked off when I tell the truth. So guys, you might not see me for awhile on the GDS Mafia Forum. I will be around the GDS Boards still, though.

On top of this, I really was who I said I was.

Just making sure that everybody sees this. I want everybody to know my side of the story.

Oh, I should make it known, while I'm thinking about it, that for the next two days, my activity level is gonna downward spiral. I get the honor of taking my brother to the doctor tomorrow for a check up, to make sure everything is okay for me to take him to the hospital Wednesday so they can cut him open. Huzzah!

Actually, I just noticed the phase ends at 4:30am here... I'm gonna be in bed, since I doubt all PMs are going to be in on time. For stats purposes, I wonder what is the highest number of players still alive to ever get all their PMs in and end a night phase early... probably 20 something but I'm curious.

And in an unrelated note, I watched the first episode of Glee earlier. I think I'm really going to like that show. Try not so spoil it for me. :)

Night 2

The man sat awkwardly in a chair. He was deep in thought, now ready to act.

And then a monster crashed through his window and slammed into him. The attack was savage and the man was left in a pool of his blood, nearly dead. Exhausted, the terrifying creature fled into the night.

Once again, a massive man set into the night, looking to dish out his own brand of justice. His head wasn't too clear though. He had made some plans of his own, but couldn't remember them now.

Something, or maybe someone, had happened to him tonight.

The aroma... what was it?

What had happened to him?

Didn't matter. There was his mark. The voices in his head were clear, this guy knew something and he needed to shake him down. Of course, he looked like a tough one. Good. Just like he liked them. No need to play by the rules.

He attacked from behind, pummelling his target into the ground. He roughed him up but good.

And the idiot didn't talk.

So he slammed his target's head in a car door.

Repeatedly.

Eventually, his target talked. They all talked. Happy with his work, the man turned to head back to his room.

*BAM*

The man fell to the ground, bleeding from the torso. Shooting him from a distance? What a bunch of pansies. Slowly, the man climbed to his feet.

*BAM*

Another gunshot, this time to the throat. Again, the man fell to the ground. Choaking on his blood, the man struggled to his feet and responded to his invisible attacker.

"Is...that...the...best...you...can...do?"

Again, the man pulled himself to his feet.

*BAM*

Another bullet, this time to the stomach. The man fell to his knees. He could survive being shot, but this was getting ridiculous. The killer was good. He'd done his homework. Injured, the man knew he needed to get to cover. He crawled slowly, but it was no use.

The bullet flew through Arrow's head, dropping him to the ground.

A meeting had just concluded. A reunion of sorts.

Sadly, it'd be a one-shot reunion for one of the participants.

The woman slinked along the roof, distracted by her success that night. She never noticed the monster of the man step out of the shadows beside her. With a stiff shove, he forced her off the roof.

Startled, she was just barely able to snap her whip upward, snagging the man's wrist and preventing her fall. Dangling off the edge, she started climbing the whip.

The man smirked, then grabbed the whip with both hands. He strained... and strained some more.

*SNAP*

Amazingly, the man ripped the bullwhip in half. Zeel1 fell to the ground, making a sickening thud upon impact.

Im not all that familiar with overseas culture and products.

But since we are now all one big happy family, how bout we figure out a productive course for the town?

This may just be reading far too much into things, being a conotation-whore, but the use of the word "savage" seems like it would describe the the character as much as the attack..

Although, even if it is a lucky guess and d_w_w didn't just pull out whatever word was closest in his dictionary, it narrows things down a bit... I would probably hedge bets that most monsters would be described as using "brutal" or "vicious" or something less primal for their attacks.

How the creatures got exhausted and "fled" is another interesting point. But at this stage I expect that it's not exactly going to make anything clearer for our questioning. Still, may be something to keep in mind for the future?

Once again, a massive man set into the night, looking to dish out his own brand of justice. His head wasn't too clear though. He had made some plans of his own, but couldn't remember them now.

Something, or maybe someone, had happened to him tonight.

There were several bad things in the last write up that weren't there on the first night, and with Destiny known to be in jail that night that links him to it. So an attack by a monster, a shooting and what looks like a DC recruitment were all in the write up (the Catwoman section+previous Zeel answers suggest he was recruited)...

And the same questions/suggestions I posted last night still stand. Destiny, where did you hide? What happens when you target people who aren't totally blue? What happens if you hide behind scum? Why are you so evasive when there's no need to be? Why aren't you helping? Who are your scum buddies?

I'm not so sure it's as easy to look at it that simply. Although scum could have been behind yesterday, it could have easily been town with scum sitting back, watching and occasionally adding a vote. And I'm sure that some of the pressure towards Destiny is coming from town - after all, Destiny looked like he was blocked on a day when there were less kills. Not looking too townie. However, this is a claim that could be disproved at night by the town, we're not exactly going to disprove anything during the day. Personally I'd be happy with Destiny telling us his night target to "clear" someone, but he may want to use that person again for now.

So, that's two people out, and we're getting reads on a few more. There are a few quieter people around, but as DWW said they're rather too quiet. We don't want to get bogged down today in people not responding (although Destiny, please let us know whether you're going to reveal your target rather than just ignoring the question).

IER is a good route - after all, I'm sure it was last DWW game that he helped run rings around town.

I'll agree with SuperOwens there, that some answers would, at the least, placate everyone to the point where the town can possibly check out other avenues of scum. If the hint/claim is airtight then there shouldn't be anything to worry about I'd have thought?

Its bizarre, strange and weird behaviour. I have no idea what he is trying to achieve here.

But I remember describing Destiny's behaviour in one particular game as "how to make yourself look scummy 101" He was lynched and came up town.

I was already dead at the time I think and this was after the game had finished and he was bemoaning the fact he was lynched.

I don't really want to lynch our hider. But I will vote on him out of principle if he doesn't want to help us win. Not particularly fussed about who he hid behind, he can keep that to himself.

I'm just sad that I wasn't the first vote on him today as I have been the previous 2 days. If he'd just initially said he was a hider then he wouldn't even be in this mess. While I'm happy to lynch him today pending further information and discussion about other leads and general good play, I really hope he's learning from this. Training games aren't the only place to learn things and I'm big on encouraging people to get better.. they just need to learn in the right places, as 20+ player games are logistically too big for some people to get the start they need.

I'm glad we have training games, they're fun. And I'm going to add my name to the list that knew IER was scum. He's awesome and he played everyone good. :p

I still think we can test Destiny other ways. Unless he says otherwise we should assume he's untargetable at night when he hides. So lets test that. Hell, throw a vig at him. If he lives at worst he's untargetable scum. We can question him in a few turns about his targets so far, with plenty of ways to find out if he's been lying.

Prophet could at worst be a good information lynch (heels / faces). It sucks to be lynched just for information if you're town. But it beats lynching a townie and tehn jsut going "Aw, shucks". Of course, Prophet may be able to provide us with information to put our minds at rest. That works to.

Could be as many as 10 depending on the number of scum groups. The more scum groups there are, the more chance there is of scum hitting scum and so the more scum there is.

Yepp, the source material is referenced in the opening writeup. NChan is mentioned specifically as one of the pre-existing factions/promotions.

Epic GET Guy was also the first character outted, and he's nCw (and justice aligned, despite it), so there's definite precedence that they're in there.

Obviously I'm pretty new to this, but from what I've been able to gather from everyone, Destiny is supposed to be a pretty good player and this kind of behaviour is out of character for him... which if correct, makes me wonder if perhaps there's a little something else to his role forcing him to act a certain way?

I said I had an alternate theory that I thought fit with how I had read certain things and presumed other things could have gone. But I'm not sure and it could easily be wrong. If Destiny is telling the truth, then I think it must be.

And if Destiny was going to lie about a hider claim, this would be a very poor way to go about it. But since he seems determined to play as scummy as possible, I'm not ruling it out yet.

I'd think Arrows would be a strange choice for any hider. I never have an idea if he scum or town.

I'm not sure where I am on the Destiny situation anymore. I'm still willing to lynch him, though.

Derek rarely pushes for a cause as he has in this case and Destiny rarely shows an aggressive side. I just want to see where all this zeal is coming from. (Not Zeel, zeal... :p)

Unless anyone has a result on Destiny, or can rule out busdriving last night, I can't see what else we're going to get from Destiny. He actually has revealed quite a bit, but it's been a lengthy, painful time-wasting experiance getting there. I don't want to wait to find out any more information. We can either agree to lynch him or move on. And as he may well be town, I say move on. He can reveal his targets afterwards (or in twilight if he can), or give us a damned good reason why he's not. If someone wants to vig him, go for it, but if he's not a hider I don't doubt for a minute that you wont be able to target him. Still worth a try though if the vig can freely vig and they've got no other strong target. Vig gets redirected? Destiny gets lynched.

I actually get the feeling that if you had decided to say you were going to hide behind Arrows during the Night, not expecting him to be killed (multiple scum groups, SK...), you're obstinate enough to stick with it.

If Arrows was bus driven, I do wonder who the intended kill target was.

Someone got switched and probably still doesn't even realize it.

If destiny is telling the truth, smart money says scum have a bus driver in their group.

Could be coincidence Arrows is dead, or they could have targetted the other person and then did the switch to get to Arrows.

Night 2[/center]

Once again, a massive man set into the night, looking to dish out his own brand of justice. His head wasn't too clear though. He had made some plans of his own, but couldn't remember them now.

Something, or maybe someone, had happened to him tonight.

The aroma... what was it?

What had happened to him?

Didn't matter. There was his mark. The voices in his head were clear, this guy knew something and he needed to shake him down. Of course, he looked like a tough one. Good. Just like he liked them. No need to play by the rules.

He attacked from behind, pummelling his target into the ground. He roughed him up but good.

And the idiot didn't talk.

So he slammed his target's head in a car door.

Repeatedly.

Eventually, his target talked. They all talked. Happy with his work, the man turned to head back to his room.

*BAM*

The man fell to the ground, bleeding from the torso. Shooting him from a distance? What a bunch of pansies. Slowly, the man climbed to his feet.

*BAM*

Another gunshot, this time to the throat. Again, the man fell to the ground. Choaking on his blood, the man struggled to his feet and responded to his invisible attacker.

"Is...that...the...best...you...can...do?"

Again, the man pulled himself to his feet.

*BAM*

Another bullet, this time to the stomach. The man fell to his knees. He could survive being shot, but this was getting ridiculous. The killer was good. He'd done his homework. Injured, the man knew he needed to get to cover. He crawled slowly, but it was no use.

The bullet flew through Arrow's head, dropping him to the ground.

If it was a switch, the reason why the second party is being quiet could be because they are scum (i.e. it was planned ahead of time)

It has nothing to due with the other party being quiet. Maybe I am being far too assumptive but I think that both instances would show up in the write up, since both people clearly had to be out that night.

That's fine, I understand I need to answer more. If I hide behind any player I am untargettable, however I will die if the person I target dies.
