A baseball sim that covers more then just the United States might be interesting. The National League, American League and their farm teams are far from being the only place where players end up.

Wikipedia has a huge reference for baseball and includes mention of Japanese, Mexican, European, South American and Australian baseball as well as other pro and amateur leagues.

Are Baseball Mogul and its contemporaries limited to the United States scene?

I played Out of the Park 8 a while ago, which is freeware now, and it has standard leagues in USA, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Cuba and Mexico, as well as winter leagues in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Venezuela. Those are just standard preset leagues. It's all fully editable too, and you can create leagues in any country you want from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe.
