OK peeps, here whats happening in my game and I want some of your opinions. I finally started my 93 game as the WWF, but instead of going down that same beaten path of Sports Entertainment that we all hate and loath, I changed them to a Cutting Edge promotion. I signed a buttload of great but unknown talent and fired everyone with no talent or no name recignition. I signed Hulk Hogan because in the long run I want to do a DX / NWO turf war with Jeff Jarrett bringing in the NWA to back him up. But right now I also brought in Brock Lesner to have a fued with Hulk Hogan. Now Lesner is completly unknown and I am having him run in during Hogans return speech to deliver the F5. After that Hogan is going to do something that he never though he would have to do and thats challange a nobody. After a huge upset victory over Mr. Perfect on WWF Superstars, Lesner feels he is more than ready to take on the immortal Hulk Hogan, and with the legendary manager Bobby The Brain Heenan in his corner he feels unstoppable. Now Hogan and Lesner will finally meet at Summerslam 93 with Hogan going over in typical Hogan fashion. What I want to know is how should I book this match to have it where Lesner still comes out looking fantastic even though he lost to Hogan? Thanks for everyones input.

Well in the description for Cutting Edge it says its inbetween Sports Entertainment and Hybrid so I figure a few strong storylines (ala TNA right now) plus a whole lot of great in ring action (I plan on creating a huge Christopher Daniels, Chris Beniot, Shawn Michaels fued) will do a wolrd of good. I found that I can run a fed better when the in ring action is more relied on than the storylines. I can come up with a few great storyline (ala my DX/NWO/NWA mega fued down the road) and mix it in with the great in ring action. I mean I just hired Dragon Kid, Chris Daniels, Chavo Gurrerro, Juvi, and a whole but ton of others and I plan on putting them in the forefront while the big names are there only to bring in the viewers.

Well Ive changes things up a bit since then. I still got rid of most of the roster in the WWF, while keeping on the big names for various reasons and keeping some of the guys with actual talent. I still went out and signed a young Brock Lesner, Bill Goldberg and Dave Bautista, but since each one of them has an F in PSY, I sent them to USWA to get some training. I went out and singed a butt-load of crusierweights to start up my own version of the X-Division and a lot of guys with actual talent. The first thing I did however was change the promotion stye to Cutting Edge so the fans would like the actual wrestling. However, things kind of backfired on me, but in a way that I thought they would. Since I am putting on shows with mostly unknown talent, I am getting low ratings. My first show, which got a B+, sent me strait to Global, however in a few weeks I was back down in International. Why? Because I am featuring matches like Chris Beniot vs. Christopher Daniels that recieves an D or an E (I cant remember). Why did they recieve such a low grade when everybody knows that match would be great? Because they are unknown thats why. I signed Hulk Hogan just for that reason. On his first show he went out and defeted Yoko for the World Title and has been on a run since defeating Randy Savage and now going on to fight his friend Lex Luger. He is on almost every one of my shows and he headlines pretty much each one. Hulk is bringing in the ratings, but I am building a new star to dethrown him. The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels has been in a fued with Bret Hart for a couple of months now, and Shawn in enlisting more and more members to his "New World Order". Once he dispatches Bret Hart, he will be setting his sights on The World Champion Hulk Hogan. Things are looking up, as I see a steady increase of some of my key workers POP, inculding my Light-Heavyweight Champion Christopher Daniels who just beat not only Chris Beniot for the Title, but the Mr. Perfect in a non-title match. He will be going on to face both Chris Beniot again, and the returning Marty Jannetty in the first ever, Ultimate X match for the WWF Light-Heavyweight Title. Ive also resigned The Warrior and sent him to USWA to work on his in-ring skills so he can have a good fued with Hulk Hogan after Hogan finishes with Luger.

I have a little question... What stats do I need to change for most of the guys to fit better into there spots on the roster...

For example, HBK is set to mid-carder at the start of the game, then he whines about wanting to be Main Event.. Since there isnt a button to tell him to be happy im not jobbing his ass to Doink, I need to know what stat to change so he will suck it up and accept his midcard role until I feel he has earn a chance to move up..
This also applies to the other 20 or so workers not happy with the spots from day one.

Thanks for the info... In the end I just ending up doing it the easy way, plus it made me smile. I jobbed HBK to Barry Horowitz a couple times. It brought Shawn down a few pegs, and put Barry in a better mood so I could continue jobbing him to my better stars.

This is a gret mod and i'm having loads of fun playing it!!

Just one thing. I can't seem to make Raven happy. He doesn't want to be a main eventer (but complains when i push him as an upper mid carder). I've tried him as colour commentator and also as manager, but he complains every week!!

Does anyone have any ideas what I should do?

I would go into the in-game editor and change one of his 2 favoured roles (wrestler and manager) from usually to rarely - whichever one you don't want to use him as.

It was a tough choice because he was certainly a manager at the time (And a great one), but he became such an iconic wrestler later on!

Glad you enjoy it. Once I've finished TWS I'll be coming back to this mod and tweeking certain stats and including a few more workers. As far as I'm aware (It was a long time ago) there is a complete picture pack. If it isn't could someone let me know! Also the files on noas5 thread are the slightly updated version with better TV networks, some new pics and other tweeks. Let me know.

I was just thinking of this mod today. Statwise I think it's superior to anything out there not done by Ryland himself, but there was one major flaw holding it back, in my opinion: lack of women.

I could count on two hands the number of women in the data, and that really shouldn't be possible. Even with early nineties pro wrestling having a meager selection of women's wrestlers, it should still be possible for a couple of promotions to have decent women's divisions, at the very least.

Aside from that, great work. I can't wait until the TEW 2007 version so I can make Bob Holly the future of WWF. :D

The reason there is a lack of women is that I have no interest whatsoever in the game, so rather than just guess their stats, I left most out. Might add some for for the 07 version, but probably not many. Depends really, if someone wants to lend a hand I'll include their work, but be warned, I insist on good quality work!
