I understand what you meant by the word "spread". For example, if one was to go to a party, and be impressed by the amount of food available, one would say to the host "you've put on a good spread", and the host would likely be flattered.

As night falls on Jack's room, a janitor stands over him, leaning on his broom. He stares blankly at Jack, chewing gum and watching as his chest rises and falls.

Suddenly the suspiciously oil-stained equipment he is hooked up to starts to bleep alarmingly. Jack begins to cough and splutter.

Janitor: "Senor! Senor! El patiento es muerte!"

In the next room, the doctor is woken from his stupor and stumbles into Jack's room.

Doctor: "Awesome! 24 hours later and he's still alive. Tell Dr Acula he owes me a Coke."

The janitor begins to shout quite agitatedly in Spanish while gesturing to Jack's rapidly decreasing heart rate, oxygen levels, and tire pressure.

Doctor: "Yeah... that doesn't look good. Whatever is killing this man, it isn't going away. NURSE!!!"

A nurse scurries into the room.

Doctor: "Call the OR. Let's get this man back into surgery, we'll open him up, have a poke around and see what we can find out. Get him prepped."

Nurse: "Yes, sir."

Not been as round as much and I apologise. When I moved into my new flat I got myself a months pay as you go internet whilst the real service was being setup. Annoyingly the broadband has been delayed and im still waiting on a router. Pay as you go has now run out, but dont really want to renew it for a few days. So only posting at work for the moment.

Hopefully will only be for a couple of days

However, that only happens when the town thinks it's cruising to a win. Like they did in SFC... until they (we) lost. People stop trying, especially if the night kills stop.

However, with games the size we play (and we play some really huge games of mafia here), it's going to always be possible that there's in non-killing non-town member alive at the end of the game, keeping their head down to stay alive. That's part of the game.

I consider myself quite lucky. In the 2.5 games I have played there has only been 1 inactivity in the Training Game.

OMG, an early Night 1 finish. Unheard of. On the same day as a new Prime Minister as well. Quite what that has to do with anything I don't know :confused:.

In the operating room…

Doctor: “Listen up people. We don’t know what’s going on in this guy but he’s so hot he might explode. Not to mention that it kinda looks like he’s having a bunch of internal earthquakes. In all my weeks of medicine I’ve never seen anything like this, so tread carefully. And if something suddenly bursts out of his chest and tries to hug my face, you know what to do.”

The doctor looks gravely at the wall as everyone follows his gaze towards the flamethrower inside the large red box marked “Break glass in case of Aliens”. Everyone seems to understand the enormity of the situation as they turn back to Jack, giving attention to the various machines, implements and carlifts required to operate in this time of financial crisis.

Doctor: “We’ve got to find out what is killing this man and make him better. People… let’s open him up. Nurse, hand me a wrench…”

Sometime later…

Doctor: “Dr Acula, good work on keeping the victim’s blood inside him… ingenius system you have going there with the bicycle pump and the tubes.”

Dr Acula: “I vould hate to see his precious blood go to vaste doctor so I used the tools available to help put his blood back in while you… (long pause)… do vhatever it is you are doing.”

BEEEP…BEEEP… BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

Nurse: “Doctor, the victim’s tyre pressure is dropping and his RPM is rising! Something is happening! Something bad! Um, probably…”

Doctor: “Stand back, I’ve got a life to save!”

The room quickly springs into action as the doctor leaps into the thick of the fray, looking at the various monitors around the room showing somewhere inside Jack’s torso, another showing his head and yet another showing reruns of Baywatch.

Doctor: “I’m no expert… wait, I mean I AM an expert but I’m pretty sure that wobbly thing there isn’t supposed to be there. And I’m almost certain that other thing isn’t supposed to be doing that to that other thing. The insides of this man look nothing like the schematic on the wall!”

Nurse: “Sorry doctor, I think someone, obviously not me, put that picture on upside down after they, not me, knocked it down late last night…”

Doctor: “Damnit nurse… this isn’t rocket science, this is brain surgery. Assuming this camera is where it’s supposed to be, which it might not be if that schematic isn’t the right way up.”

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

Dr Acula: “Doctor, ve need to relieve the pressure on ze organs or he’ll lose them.”
Doctor: “Someone fetch me the wedge of wood, I’ll get these organs seperated as if my very own life depended on it”

Nurse: “I think the wedge is being used to prop up the operating table doctor.”

Doctor: “Damn it, there’s never any wood when you need it most…”

Nurse: “Tell me about it…”

BEEP BEEEP…BEEEP… BEEEP…BEEEP… BEEEP…BEEEP…

Doctor: “Wait… tyre pressure stabilising… RPM normalising… everything seems to be okay again.”

Dr Acula: “Ze patient seems to be getting better. I think ve should perhaps consider moving him back upstairs for some rest, doctor. All this excitement can’t be good for him and it will be morning soon.”

Doctor: “Agreed, Dr Acula. I know you like to be home in time for some early morning TV. Let’s get these camera thingies out of him and send Jack back upstairs to recuperate.”

Things look to be settling down as the team look to get Jack back upstairs by removing all the bits and pieces attached to him during the surgery. But just as the paramedic and the driver get bored of watching the operation and return to watching Baywatch the Doctor notices something.

Doctor: “I saw something. A Gruntmark on the camera there. Where is that camera just now?”

Nurse: “It’s about there (points)… Doctor!!!”

With barely a second, perhaps not even a first, thought the Doctor plunges his arm deep into Jack as his vitals begin to go all over the place again. Dr Acula looks on with a speculative look as the Doctor begins rummaging around, with his hand eventually becoming visible on one of the screens, at which point he waves and plunges in deeper, almost up to his shoulder.

Doctor: “Dr Acula, don’t just stand there! Get the oinkologist, this is a Gruntmark we’re dealing with here! I’m almost there… almost… almooooost….. Got it!!”

With a big flourish and a splatter of blood that makes the nurse faint and hit her head for the second time in two days, the doctor pulls the suspected Gruntmark out of Jack’s body. The vitals stabilise again as Dr Acula glides out to get the oinkologist.

Minutes later…

Doctor: “Ah, Dr Acula. I closed up the patient while you were fetching the oinkologist. It’s a good job I’m not just good with a wrench but I’m also good with a sewing machine, got that zip on him in no time.”

Dr Acula: “Um… Doctor, have you ever actually met the oinkologist before?"

Doctor: “Of course I have Dr Acula. I’m always joking that I ate her sister, she seems to like that.”

Following in behind Dr Acula is the resident oinkologist… Betsy. The pig.

Betsy: “Oink.”

Doctor: “Betsy, you’re the expert. This was a Gruntmark right?”

The Doctor throws the suspected Gruntmark at the pig known as Betsy, who takes one sniff at it and gobbles it up.

Doctor: “I told you it was a Gruntmark. A dead Gruntmark smells and tastes just like truffles, Betsy’s favourites. That’s why she’s so good at treating cancer patients, you know. People, this man had cancer but no longer! He is cured. All he needs now is some rest and some food. None of that saline we’ve had him on, put some salisbury steak and buttered noodles through a shredder and get those in him through an IV. We’ll have this man conscious, eating and back on his feet in no time.”

Could be different scum groups. Cancer could be a cult, or serial killer. The main scum group wouldn't know who Cancer is, so they just off a strong player they don't think will be protected.

If it's one group, with the size of this game, and taking into account we already saw Cancer (which could be another group, cult, SK); maybe about 5 give or take.

It's difficult to say without knowing if Grunt was part of a basic scum group, cult, or on his own. I'm thinking 5 is a safe number without knowing the particulars.

I ask because if it was due to an assassination then we have to look at why he was killed. Gruntmark was obviously something of a cancer (humor my bad joke) so I'm inclined to rule out Midnight since if they were both scum wouldn't they know about one another? In which case, why would Midnight kill him? I'm assuming that all scum know about each other, but I could be wrong. In which case we should disqualify this idea.

Why would someone silence BHK? Going through his post in the thread, he has only done two things that could cause someone to want to silence him:

1. He pushed to get rid of Destiny.

2. He kept saying "Don't taze me bro!" which annoyed someone. :)

If it's the first thing, then this is really in favor of Destiny being scum. I'd like to wait a bit longer before saying that we should get rid of him, but BHK was one of the earliest opponents of Destiny. And now he's being silenced.

There is the second option though, that being that someone found "Don't taze me bro!" to be really annoying. In which case, this silencing doesn't mean anything at all. I'd like to see who the mod takes a hit out on tomorrow/who comes up dead before deciding to do away with Destiny.

Concerning Zeel:

We know that Moonlit_Tears accused him of being scum, and we know that he found Eayragt's early behavior against Destiny suspicious (as did I). There was also some sort of weird discussion going on between Zeel and Arrows (the stuff about cancer this and that). I'm guessing it's just a joke that went over my head, but I dunno. Just putting it out there that I observed it.

If anything, I would point to Eayragt as the likely silencer of Zeel here, but in that case why not silence me instead. Of course, he could have wanted to silence both of us but only have the ability to silence once and chosen Zeel because he's a veteran. But is it likely that both Zeel and Destiny are scum? I don't think so, but I think that one of them definitely is.

I want to wait for more information before voting for a lynch on either, but they are the two I distrust most right now.

Nothing will every end well for the town if the town does nothing but sit on their hands and wait for concrete information. You're both new players, so I can't say I'm especially suspicious, but this isn't a straight-up lynch vote. It's a "let's see where this goes" pressure vote.

Also, it's worth noting that voting with no intent of ever lynching anyone will end in a claimpocalypse and that's no good either.

If Destiny gives us something we can buy (for now at least), we move on. If not, we lynch.

This isn't on nothing, by the way. Just look at the questions revolving around this phase and what was suggested about Destiny. This seems like a worthy route at the least.

Someone felt my vote on Grunt was worth checking out (and proved my hunch right). If that was a town kill? Bravo.

If that was a scum kill? They knew they weren't part of the same group so they had nothing to lose. We got lucky by it not being a townie that they killed.


Scum groups should always aim to keep alternative scum alive at the beginning of the game. It helps dwindle down town numbers. At least that's how I see it, anyway. Although it does lead for a good townie defense later. "I have a kill, but I kill bad guys! See?!" But that's easily combated with "Yeah, unfortunately they're all from the OPPOSITE scum group as yours."

I've seen Nick call out someone in his own group on day 1 before. Don't put anything past him.

Nothing will every end well for the town if the town does nothing but sit on their hands and wait for concrete information. You're both new players, so I can't say I'm especially suspicious, but this isn't a straight-up lynch vote. It's a "let's see where this goes" pressure vote.

Also, it's worth noting that voting with no intent of ever lynching anyone will end in a claimpocalypse and that's no good either.

I said that I didn't have anything particularly substantial and my vote was only due to a lack of alternatives. I couldn't have been any plainer about that.

Interesting. Creative guy, although really risky since from what I understand scum has to outnumber townies at the end to win. Setting your own guys up for a lynch doesn't help that cause, although if you're really confident in your ability to win over others it isn't impossible. :)

Because if he is scum inevitably he'll do something. There are certain things he would do in response to our lines of questioning that would point out he's scum.

Seriously - that's a Cult? Unless we see any evidence (which we don't have) any talk of Cult is just a distraction (purposeful or not).

I will not consider that there is a Cult at this stage. It will not help us. We may get more evidence of one later.

From a mechanics standpoint, though, cults are trickier in many ways than mafias, as there may be less evidence of their existence at first, and once exposed, everyone becomes suspect again, including previously 'cleared' players (as they may have been subsequently recruited).

To eayragt's point, though, while it's easy to make the 'cancer = cult' analogy, that's mostly we have at this point, an analogy. With only one recorded kill, there's still some confusion in regards to how things played out. If a vig took the cancer cell out, did that take initiative over cancer's kill, if they in fact had one? Is there another pathogen-themed group out there with ill intent (pardon the pun) that somehow got into the mix? Need more context...

I said that I didn't have anything particularly substantial and my vote was only due to a lack of alternatives. I couldn't have been any plainer about that.
