It's been common knowledge since the night it happened that he went after the wrong guy. The commentators on ESPN were reporting that about an hour after it happened. I'm not sure how you didn't learn of this until now.

I'm not gonna defend Ron Artest. I have no reason to. I don't even like the guy.

I saw one of the guys on TV this morning talking about how he's fully ready "to face any punishment I should receive" and expects Artest to get the same treatment. All with his lawyer right beside him smiling. :)
