View Full Version : Pre and Post Show Matches

I was wondering how many people actually use them. I do use my pre-show to hype matches and get some extra people wrestling, but I never really use the post-show because it doesn't seem like it helps in any way. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I use post-show to keep my un-used top workers happy. They get a paycheck, fans see an extra match, I check for potential chemistry.
I use pre-show for similar reasons but usually to test prospects and stuff.

I do when I use TCW or SWF
SWF because 1.5 hrs is nowhere near enough time (I usually extend to 2.5 hrs) and TCW because the 35 minute for main matches kinda pushes the lower guys I still like (Stone, Alexander) off of the card
other than that hardly because for smaller promotions it's an extra cost
post show I used once, Cornell vs Joshua Taylor, first card and Cornell got hurt out of the ring for 41 days

I use pre/post shows only to get my unused workers on the card so they don't bitch

I always use all 20 minutes of my pre-show (have since first buying TEW 2005), but I've yet to use any post-show time. I'm a creature of habit, so I'm just too set in my ways.

I sometimes set them.. But its not like I ALWAYS have them. Only occasionally.

I have yet to done a post-show, but I'm planning to do so. You gotz to makez them doez the workz, you knowz? ;)
I'm actually a bit surprised that Mr. Ryland put the post-show back in... but that's another topic altogether. :)

I used both sides every show until I've test all possible tag team combinations with CZCW. Every time I hire new workers more testing.

Unless there's not enough people to work them (really large events with a Cult or Regional company, where I have to fight to find good matchups for the show itself!), and as long as its financially feasible, I'll run pre-show stuff. Typically dark matches since, well... they're dark matches! It just makes the most sense to me. For post-show, on the uncommon occaison I use it, tends to be the place where I have people practice their angle skills when I don't want it effecting the show grade, and once a blue moon I MIGHT have a match.
However, I could care less if a few people get left off the show. The amount of morale it effects is far, far, far too little to worry about. From what I've seen, I can literally leave a guy off of shows non-stop and they'll start forgetting about the earlier events they were left off of long before the "being left off a show irritations" can pile up into a geniune problem. Heck, they won't even fall a happy face.
Does it have an effect? Yes. But its about the same as throwing a lawn chair off the Queen Mary.

If I can financially pull it of the pre show is for match training and the post show for angle training and getting those left off the main card on it.

I would advise against post show matches as they will get lower grades then normal because they are post show and dark matches do effect the pop of the workers for the region they are held in.
