Above is the file converter, which takes TEW data files and makes appropriate WreSpi files. You MUST read the instructions that accompany the file carefully, or you will end up with problems.

I answered my first question, but I have a new 'error'.

It transfers everything over alright, except Birth Year. Since my Database is set in the year of 1983, I figured that all the ages of the workers from the TEW DB would be subtract from 1983 and not 2004.

No biggie, just gotta go through and edit it all.

I noticed that, too. Everyone I've seen so far in the WreSpi database is the same age as they were last year ;)

I don't think it would be that hard to implement into the game, so maybe Adam'll do it before release?

It's done from 2004 as the converter is independent of database date. If you want, send me your files and I'll convert the dates manually for you, as it'll only take me a matter of minutes, as oppose to quite a long time for you doing in manually.

Wait, I'm confused. Do you put it in the TEW folder or the WreSpi folder?

I'm porbably need furhter help too. :D

You create a new WreSpi database, and everything is done in there.

Go to the Database section, and check Database Report, it'll tell you what the error is.

Ok I did everything it said to do with the converter and it works fine...only problem is im trying the game out with the Trial Version...And I went the FULL 4 weeks of the trial with NO match...Is that supposed to happen...I never even got to play a match and this is has happened 2 out of 2 times

This should be in general questions but you're starting out a rookie to legend career (I hope?!)? You have to apply to different federations - no one is going to approach you if they don't know who you are so you have to initiate contact. Some will offer you a trial match. Mostly you will get a couple of pay-per-appearance matches.

xpwowner

Already did all that...Had a contract the first day...with my fed that i created on TEW...they had only one show and i never had a match...when i signed with them...they said i would make a great main eventer yet never booked me in a match

Adam Ryland
11-30-2004, 01:53 PM
Not getting booked on the one show they did is hardly cause for alarm, you won't be on every show. Simply do another career, and you're likely to get a match eventually.

Ok cool just concerned me cause i used to get matches then i converted the files and stopped getting matches...just had to make sure that didnt make a difference so i can now buy the game thanks bro...Also...Do we have to change ALL the move list our self or will there be a movelist modification coming out

Adam Ryland
11-30-2004, 02:04 PM
I'm not sure what you mean by a move set modifier? There's nothing in TEW equivelant to a WreSpi move set, so there's nothing to import\convert. You can import the database from the CornellVerse via the Import control if that's what you want.

Is there any reason why the Converter doesn't convert all the contracts or a worker's Physical status either?

I noticed that it only converts a worker's first contract, and none of the rest.

Again, not a huge problem, as I have to go through it all anyways and add and edit stuff as is.

Okay, I might not be getting this all straight, but this means you could convert any TEW files to WreSpi? Like any stat update? Real world?

Um my converter keeps giveing me the error !!! Error, Belt.fis Missing, Process Terminated. Where is this belt file

Adam Ryland
12-01-2004, 02:46 AM
Follow the instructions given. belt.fis is created when you create a new WreSpi database, and you should be working in that folder.

ill be waiting on someone to post a full database with everything, as evidenced by my earlier posts regarding my minimal attempts to adjust the database that resulted in crashes to desktop.....so patiently i wait.

Where can we find this version of the converter? In the beginning of the post stands still the old version.

Thanks

Its not savegame compatible, but if you reset your original TEW data to a data update or real wrestlers it should work. But then you have to assign move sets for all of the wrestlers.

Is there any way to switch the databases? For example, if Default is, well, the Default, and "1" is my TEW Converted, is there a way to switch back to the Default?

Payne

Never mind, I figured it out.

Hey, would it be possible to get the converter to set a workers Personality and Attitude level from their TEW Behaviour, Attitude? I know the TEW Behaviour and Attitude settings in TEW are numerical while Wrespi's Personality and Attitude is a flat level (Nice, Normal, etc.), but it seems that it should be easy enough to set it up where if one is 100-X it's this, and if it's X-Y it's this other one. It'd save us data makers some time. :)

On a slightly related note, did you have some sort of ratio you used when assigning Spirit Points to a worker in the original data that could be mechanically copied, or did you just eyeball it?

Thanks for the work you've done so far on this, some game makers wouldn't have gone through the effort to make something like this for their fans. :)

Cool. All we need now is a utility to export the database from a career mode save. ;)

cyberkitten01
12-20-2004, 10:01 AM
Yes, that would be great. Especially then you could set that as Cornellverse (2007), and then start a new game and everything would be as you left it, and you'd have the option of going back to the default database as well if you wanted

PyroFalkon
12-20-2004, 11:09 AM
Yep, that's what I'm hoping for. It would extend the life of the game to me.

i just converted the TEW-ravex#4 database with this converter here and it fine. then when starting a game, the load-up process stopps as the game detects erros in the database.
one was about sid vicious which i could erase manually, but the other errors all contain default movesets for certain fighting styles. when i go to movesets or move section in the editor, everything is blank.

EDIT: i just copied move.fis and moveset.fis from the default databse and now it works...

thanks

I have a ravex real world update, and when I try to convert it to WreSpi, it keeps saying Error 6 Encountered after only putting in a couple wrestlers, all of which names end up being wierd symbols and squares

Make sure you've followed the instructions precisely, it sounds like you either haven't put the files in the right place, or you are only using some of them.

Hi there. I am having a slight problem using this converter.

The instructions say put files likes worker.dat, team.dat etc into the folder..... But all i have is worker.tew, team.tew etc? And i also have no title.dat?

If i simply change the extensions it says it all worked succesfully but then gives me 'Error 6 Encountered!'.

Any ideas?

The converter only works for files coming in from TEW'04. That game used .dat files, rather than the .tew files that TEW'05 runs on.

Thanks for that :)

Anybody know where there are any decent mods then? x
