Likely Town:

Oliver - Claimed the other half of the lethal weapon team and wasn't counter claimed, took credit for two scum kills and doesn't seem to have been refuted, and has made a number of other small hard claims that haven't been countered. The only way that he's scum is if he's part of a cult and the real lethal weapon partner is also cult and for some reason thought Oliver should take his identity. Unlikely, so the probability of Oliver being town in 90%.

C-Bot - Has made several good pushes on scum. He could be cult, but since he had a major hand in killing the don then the likelihood that he is part of the Corleone family is near 0. As such, his town probability is around 60%. Pretty high, but not out of the realm of suspicion.

Kobe1724 - The hero of the story. I'm the seemingly laughably incompetent townie who continues to work the angles no one else wants to work.

Glotnot - The Astil stuff is pretty compelling. Put himself out there when he thought Astil was DQ, didn't get counter claimed and makes sense in the game as who he says he is. Town probability 90%.

MNN - In every game I have a gambit player. This is someone that I believe to be likely town but that I relentlessly pressure and accuse of being scum in the hope that my incompetence causes the scum to leave me alone while I question other subjects. The only thing suspicious about MNN is that he's still alive, which is less suspicious when one considers that he is an every other day PI so there is less reason to kill him. Probability he's town is around 70%. He could be a scum role cop (Corleone family), but at this point I'm not willing to say that he is.

Smart Bomb - His Nexus claim is shaky, in the heat of an Astil lynch he made a random vote on someone else that screamed "scum board mis-communication". Then he promptly took it off, randomly asked me for my scum list "for the lols", made a soft nexus claim, then turned it to a 50/50 nexus claim, and throughout all this continues to avoid a lynch. Scum probability is over 80%.

Paws - Scummy behavior. First was very agreeable and had a dead to rights posting style similar to that of The Two and The Shape. Was very polite and non-confrontational with everyone. Then suddenly turned rambo psycho once I pointed these things out. Was extremely closed off and refused to be helpful in any way with her information about herself, and then gave answers that were so obvious it was almost like they were designed to get rid of pressure. Has nothing supporting anything she's said, including "Rose", another basically vanilla townie who could easily clear her and create a very strong town once MNN investigated one of them (without telling us which).

BHK - The Sweeny stuff with Phenom has made me fairly certain he's scum.

SuperOwens - I'll share more later, but some people have brought up some write up info to bring him into my focus.

Ambiguous:

Max Peck - Has defended all of the wrong people, asked all the wrong questions and led with all of the wrong thoughts/statements. Not enough to label him scum, but he's on the short list.

Gabbo - Other people's reactions concerning him are clouding my judgment (he seems town to me).

When people soft claim anything I just ignore it or else sometimes decide it's scummy. It's way too easy for them to just say "No I really meant _____" if their claim gets shot to hell later. And there will be enough people that thought it meant something else to substantiate that position.

See though, I don't have the impetus (thanks iMac!) to hard claim at this time. I gave my hint, and its a pretty obvious one, I dare say anybody who has seen the movie will recognize it pretty easily. If you don't, then I don't know what to tell you. As for your "investigation", do your worst. A real investigator would look for the hint, figure it out, and add that bit of info to their notes.

In my limited experience, giving a full claim tends to result in ones death shortly thereafter. If I was a power role I'd be more willing to full claim because someone would at least watch me so my killer would be caught (although for some reason protector's specifically have an awful tendency to assume scum won't target power roles and then protect people less likely to be protected instead). As my current role though, when the scum decide to kill me then I will be killed. Better to have them think there is at least a chance I'm scum and leave me alone for longer while I continue my investigations.

If you haven't given the town enough help by day 6 to more or less reveal what your role is simply by your help then the only way that you shouldn't be answering gender/ability/decade/actor name questions is if you're a princess, protector or some rare role whose death would directly hurt the town.

An investigator, watcher or other power role will have helped the town so much by day 6 that their ability is self evident.

At that point, we need to look at the unhelpful people and get them to make some meaningful claims about what they can do. Any lesser standard allows scum to skate.

Because if you don't have to give any information then scum don't have to give any information. That makes us dependent on night info to win games.

In games where moderators stack abilities in the towns favor that works fine, but in games like CFC (Gruntmark and CBots game) or Evil Comes to Happy Town where you're playing a game that's going to be over in 4-5 phases tops then you have to get useful information in the day time.

We've been really lucky this game, but it's been because we've had a few really smart town players that have overcome the towns collective lethargy during the day time.

Your soft hints are enough that people can speculate on who you are. This is not helpful. It's scummy, or conversely the kind of play that someone trying to survive does. There are a few roles (protector, princess) that need to be purposely vague, but by day 6 we should have a good idea of who most people are. If we don't, it means we're relying on night play to dictate the game.

In my limited experience, giving a full claim tends to result in ones death shortly thereafter. If I was a power role I'd be more willing to full claim because someone would at least watch me so my killer would be caught (although for some reason protector's specifically have an awful tendency to assume scum won't target power roles and then protect people less likely to be protected instead). As my current role though, when the scum decide to kill me then I will be killed. Better to have them think there is at least a chance I'm scum and leave me alone for longer while I continue my investigations.

I've played five games including this one. I was lynched in two of them (once as an SK and once as self aligned so good on the town). In the other two games I was an investigator. In both cases, I was killed the same night I hard claimed investigator. In one instance it was because of being bus driven and in the other it was because the scum directly targeted me, but in both cases my role made me the most obvious target and the protector decided to stay away from obvious targets.

My rationale: Protect the people that you know have power roles and that you know are town. You might not save lives every night, but you'll be saving the most important ones.

I wouldn't want to be protected in this game because I'm not a power role. Watched maybe, but not protected. I say once we finish vetting MNN that he is a great target for continual protection.

I acknowledge that I miss some things. I focus on 3-4 people at the time and read everything else on a surface level until I can properly vet the people I'm focusing on. Then I move onto others. This allows me to learn a lot about certain posters in the game but at the expense of remaining ignorant to things other posters are aware of. I don't really mind because when I come to those posters I'll learn what I need to learn from them by pressuring.

I can understand why someone would play it differently.

In my opinion, however, the investigator, watcher (if they can go out every night), the forensic investigator, the protector, and any princess role are the 5 most important roles in the game. Losing one of those early is a major loss, and the town can survive the loss of anyone else unless they are espescially smart.

Initially tonight I was going to look into MNN. He seems like he could be a scum role cop. Logically it all fits:

He used his role cop info to find out that masterded was cult. Then he claimed investigator and from there decided to keep giving us "discovered" town results every other night. It was risky to make the play, but by the time he did it enough cops had died that he could claim investigator and possibly not get counter claimed. It also fits my personality profile of him to do something risky like this. It was also clever to claim an every other night investigator because it decreases the rate at which he has to deliver results to the town. With the other investigators seemingly also dead, there is no danger of someone looking into him and finding out that he's scum.

That said, now I would like to look into serial killer Max Peck. Claims Richard Kimble at the beginning of the game. Allows him to dismiss a scum result while contributing nothing to the town. Has the scum psychology of playing safe by only piling votes onto and defending popular suspects in the eyes of the town. Is belligerent about giving information he has already given.

Hell, you even said you were aiming to be annoying, to get under the skin of those you're after... That's not good gameplay. That's trolling. Especially because a few of the people you're 'after' have given us hints that are completely believable, and you're just being stubborn with believing them. Your points on MNN are flawed. An every other night investigator. Who gets alignments as results. Who's found a Cult Leader. And assured us Antithesis was town. And he was right on both fronts. If MNN were really a scum cop, he'd likely be getting abilities or descriptions, rather than alignments. Scum have no need for alignment results.

I honestly don't know what else to say. I think we'd accomplish more today, if I blatantly told everyone, even those on your lists, to just ignore you. You get some weird kick with basically posting your notes and opinions, and it's helping no one. Right now, it's not even a question as to whether you're scum or town. Yeah, why I was interested in your view on protectors. In that game I had to keep second guessing which way scum would go, its a hard role to play.

Im guessing this game the protector has been targeting the power role, only seen him in the write-up once. But looks like the power roles have been left alone.

As for Max. Its a good claim to make. Does seem like an obvious miller role. But then you could argue that a completely obvious miller role negates the whole point of being a miller...

I've never been a protector so I'll take your word on it. I know I'd just target power roles, but that's because I don't think I could guess who the mafia would target without trying to influence their vote, which would put me in harms way and as a protector I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that (pretty much the only scenario where that's the case, actually).
