This is me blocking Destiny night 4, yeah? There's no way it's NOT Destiny speaking, and from the write-ups this is me.

I targeted Destiny night 4... so if Jman's claiming to have bus driven me and Hellshock, shouldn't I have actually blocked Hellshock's target?!

Depends on the type of bus I would think. May only be people that target you.

My biggest concern though, is that a man was clearly screaming in the Night One write-up, thanks to the Vampire Cult Recruit.

And James Bond has been nowhere in our Write-Up's, yet.

When people are recruited into the cult, they often lose their original ability. Which would suffice as to why we haven't seen ANY recognizable James Bond in the Night Phases, so far.

And if you were a cult recruiter, and someone hinted at James Bond during Day One, would that not be your pick for your first recruit of the game? Someone who's going to be accepted as town, basically because it's James Bond, and there'd be no question about his alignment...?

Jman may very well be a scum busdriver. And one of the three or four remaining females in game were recruited last night phase. But the point remains that we've still got a killer assassin out there, and a new vampire recruiter.

I want one of them, today. Preferably the cult recruiter. Again, Imarevenant is likely either or suited killer, and only claiming James Bond because James Bond would be accepted as town and if vague enough in the write-ups, could be a doppleganger for this 'Agent 47.' Or, the first recruit, which to me, James Bond fits as, as we've seen zero abilities from someone you'd expect to have all sorts of them, and James Bond would have been the perfect N1 Choice for a Cult Recruit.

Let's keep the pressure going.

It'll take more than that to kill me!'. A fight ensued, trashing the hotel room in the process. The bald man managed to break free of the his opponents vice-like grip and fired his pistol multiple times. The man stood there, his chest full of bullets, but instead of collapsing in a heap, he grinned, 'I ain't got time to bleed!'. The fight continued until the bald man was able to draw his sword and cut his victim in half.

Badly shaken up, the bald man left the room and straightened his tie. Hearing a creak from the end of the hallway, he turned, sword drawn, but there was no-one there.

Anyway, let's look back...

Either Jman or Inadvertant are lying. A lynch would go along way to sorting out the other one. Or bringing more names into the equation. MNN and Teh Showtime amongst others.

However Rev is another of the SuperOwens, good players that coast by doing nothing if scum so I could believe him being recruited. Bond is one of the most active filmstars there is, seducing, foiling plots, flying around the world, driving fast cars, killing people etc. Rev claimed a passive ability.

This could be because he lost his ability upon recruit, which doesn't happen half as often as Olivier suggested, or if he never was Bond. If the Vampires are going to respawn a new leader everytime one dies, it's basically all over. We can't win. Barring role technicalities that mean there is a way to kill them all, it's just nowhere near guessable.

The only way I'd fairly entertain them electing a new leader is if it was determined before the game. Which is why Mded was the supreme and Rev was the second in command.

Kind of my point, I can see arguments for all 3. Bot has most people believing he is town. Jaded has a proven ability and RA is good for getting numbers up as she was unlikely to be the focus of to much night attention. As a gut I'd say RA.

I was going from Olivier's list of female, but yeah you couldn't answer. Noted... in my brain. -_-

I think you'd know if you were recruited, with write-ups so vague if the player doesn't know the town certainly wouldn't.

I am from a narrative point of view, although I guess sleeping is doing something from a narrative point of view but nothing role wise, no.

We need to decide between RA, Owens and C-bot as who the girly cult is. I'd lean with C-bot right now although Rev is my priority.

SuperOwens, who appears to have done a better job defending Rev than even Rev, is one of the three females still in the game, and therefore has a one in three chance of being our Night Five Recruit.

If Rev really does turn out to be our new Cult Recruiter, I think we can stop suspicions of Comradebot or RebelliousAngel, and basically confirm that SuperOwens probably is the female recruited last night, who's just trying to subtly protect her new group.

It'd just fit together like a puzzle.

You win people over by supporting their ideas as well as your own. By not being lazy. And by working with others.

I actually never did get RA's hint. Which goes to the point of why I think soft hinting is largely pointless. They want to find a hint because she's telling them it's there and they don't want to look stupid.

Definitely missed Anti's (link?) and Smart Bomb's came after mine, I think. Showtime I saw something from (I know his character so he probably did give a blue claim early in the topic), but bak42 gave his up under huge lynch pressure (as did Destiny) so I wasn't counting them.

Definitely missed Anti's (link?) and Smart Bomb's came after mine, I think. Showtime I saw something from (I know his character so he probably did give a blue claim early in the topic), but bak42 gave his up under huge lynch pressure (as did Destiny) so I wasn't counting them.

I've noted this almost from the beginning, but wanted to give you a chance to correct for it if you really were town.

As for my percentages and gut feelings, there are other people that are a lot better at interpreting night actions and write ups than I am. I actually do go through these things in the post games of every game I'm ever in, but I don't pretend to be good at it. But that doesn't mean I can't be useful. Night actions don't always tell us everything we need to know. And what I'm doing is looking at the gaps that are in my information (and often times others) and pressuring to get that information.

Often times, the way that people answer questions can out them as scum (Hellshock for one instance was obviously not town aligned to me well before anyone else picked up on - go back and read my posts - based on his responses to the very questions Jaded is now refusing to answer). Ideally, I like to test my theories in a game, but due to the limits of my ability in this game then of course my thoughts are going to be based on hunches.

Someone like you (Paws) isn't being pressured or investigated despite a very shaky claim. You won't do the one thing you could to substantiate that claim for a singular shaky reason (scum only need one lover to get the other to kill themselves so your idea that you need to "protect" Rose here is flawed), and no one sees any problem with this at all.

There are so many characters from so many movies that fake claiming is easy. So when someone won't claim anything at all or only make vague hints to their character, or conversely when their claim doesn't pass the sniff test or stand up to any sort of testing then of course I'm going to have the "hunch" that they're scum.

Take that for what you will.

I actually never did get RA's hint. Which goes to the point of why I think soft hinting is largely pointless. Throughout the topic people would say: "I don't know who you are." and then she would say "Read I've hinted!" and then people would go back through all of her post a few times and then finally say "Ah okay I think I got it."

They want to find a hint because she's telling them it's there and they don't want to look stupid.

Well maybe you're right. But for anyone who hasn't gotten it yet RA seems to be claiming Cher from Clueless. Like with Paws, this is another role that is difficult to vet and makes a lynch difficult. I still don't necessarily believe her, but I can't see any reason to question her any further if this is actually her role claim.

Even if I got a hint I think I would pressure the person to say what they were. I've read a lot of games, and the main way scum get by is by hinting early and having everyone take what they said at face value. Like I said, this attitude allows scum to skate. They post a movie quote or something, everyone accepts that as a claim and then 8 phases later everyone is finally full claiming and going back over posters remaining in the game with a fine toothed comb like they should have to begin with.

I find it interesting that when a poster is close to being lynched they always full claim. When they get the town off their backs in those instances they become some of the most solid members of the team.

Someone Claiming James Bond, with supposed hints in their first posts
No sign of James Bond in the Write-Up's
Someone Claiming that they're not using their abilities because they're not completely caught up yet, they're therefore afraid of hurting the town

I guess I just think that the chance that he's our Night One Recruit into the Vampire Cult is exceptionally higher than anyone else in the game right now. With the cult recruits as vague as they are in the write-up's, I'll be shocked if recruits get to keep their abilities. Especially now, as it seems that even with their cult head gone, someone's back to recruiting.

I can honestly say I don't buy it. When people use the "I'm not using my ability because I'm afraid of hurting the town" and it's already Day Six, I'm skeptical, to say the least.

And this is all given that he doesn't turn up to be our formal attired assasin.

I will say that I have given a lot of hints out about my character and his job. So much so that I am pretty sure Jaded knows who my character is. I have not said anything about my ability.

I actually agree with you. Of the top 5 scum suspects:

Paws
MNN
BHK
Smart Bomb
RA

3 of 5 is the likely outcome. And a Paws/RA +1 scum combo is the least likely pairing of people to be scum.
