Again (and you can check this) I was pointing out MNN was scum back when everyone was claiming him obvious town and berating me for even implying he might be scum. Good job on catching him, but my point is that if we would have just applied more pressure on people to make strong claims earlier in the game then we would have caught him much sooner. We'd have nipped the cult in the bud much sooner.

The whole reason that we're in this situation right now is because people have been allowed to post one sentence hints about their character and then skate for phases at a time. Everyone in a game needs to be held accountable and vetted, and allowing someone to simply say "It's too dangerous" to tell what they are and what they can do allows groups like this cult to poison the town while we wait on night results.

This is doubly flawed because people don't even want to talk at night, so we waste another half of the game.

I'm not going to speculate on what should be done in other games, but if we don't stop.the.bleeding.now. we are going to lose this game.

Glot's claim is shaky. Gabbo is shaky as well, but less so. If you want to pressure him then I say let's do it. I think he needs to give us every result and everything he's done the whole game, and I think he needs to do it now. We need to go over these things today, and during the night phase as well if we have too...

But if we're wrong about him, we can't afford a mis-lynch.

So let's get rid of glot.

Going on gut mostly. However, like I said he is a much better player than he has been in this game and if Scum he is very sneaky as Scum. Heck, he has me thinking over if he is the right choice or not.

Assuming there are the 3/4 scum left (I believe that was the number, it may have been 3/5), to our total 11 players?

At minimum, I believe it's two cult, one mafioso/SK. At maximum, I don't recall. I have no idea where this "There's an SK AND a mafioso killer left!" 'fact' popped up from, maybe I just missed something.

Regardless, if there's one killer and one cult with at least two members?

If we no lynch, and the killer doesn't kill any cult members during his run (IE, best case scenario for the cult), they win in 3 cycles.

If the killer kills off every cult member as they're recruited and we no lynch, the game will go on for 7 more cycles, the game still ending in a cult victory.

If we get the killer right now, this phase, we cannot win unless one of us has a kill stored up in-case-of-emergency.

If we lynch cult, today, and the killer takes out the last remaining cult member, AND we lynch tonight's recruit the next day phase? We'll have 6 phases to find him (no lynching), and if we lynch every day, we will have two full cycles and one day phase to find the killer before we lose. That is our BEST case scenario.

These are all based on an 8 Town, 2 Cult, 1 Killer-Of-Some-Sort set-up.

If there are more cult, or another killer, we're basically just screwed.

Look at the voters. Curious how a player like Gabbo is still around and he claims his character hasn't done anything lately which I find hard to believe and with Glot backing him on that vote I wouldn't be surprised if they were cult together. But the use of expletives when employed correctly imply force and meaning to a statement.

Call it crude if you will, but when I use such words I don't mean to offend. It's just a tactic. Very rarely will I use them actually directed towards someone as a means of insulting them. If I want to insult someone, I can use actual words for that.

But when trying to convince someone of something, apparent anger even if not real lends credit to your argument. Anger means you feel strongly for whatever it is you're arguing about, that you truly BELIEVE what you're saying is correct, and when you say something in a way portraying so much emotion, others can be swayed more easily to your side, depending upon their inclinations towards you.

If I've ever offended anyone by appearing overly angry, I apologize. I'm almost never actually angry when I type like that. Sometimes frustrated, but never at the "I hate you go die" level.


On a semi-related note, I don't find most household expletives to be disrespectful, personally. Not in most situations, at the very least. The way I see it, if the people who run the forum find any given word offensive, they can auto-censor it. At that point, I can't use it anymore. The point of censoring the word is that it's no longer offensive to anyone. If a word is still offensive and it's censored, then that 1) implies horrible things about our society, and 2) entirely defeats the purpose of censoring it in the first place.

If my word shows up censored as soon as it appears on the boards, then I haven't REALLY said the word anyway, so why is it a big deal? And if a word ISN'T censored, then why am I not allowed to say it? It's circles of uselessness.

If I've ever offended anyone by appearing overly angry, I apologize. I'm almost never actually angry when I type like that. Sometimes frustrated, but never at the "I hate you go die" level.

Perfectly understandable. This is a game where frustration levels can certainly run high, i've felt the same way in past games. The difference being is that I don't let my frustration show through my fingertips.

On a semi-related note, I don't find most household expletives to be disrespectful, personally. Not in most situations, at the very least. The way I see it, if the people who run the forum find any given word offensive, they can auto-censor it. At that point, I can't use it anymore. The point of censoring the word is that it's no longer offensive to anyone. If a word is still offensive and it's censored, then that 1) implies horrible things about our society, and 2) entirely defeats the purpose of censoring it in the first place.

I'm not going to comment on this, as it's up to the owners of the site to set up whichever rules they wish to employ. Whether you or I think differently is irrelevant, we don't pay the bills to keep the site going.

If my word shows up censored as soon as it appears on the boards, then I haven't REALLY said the word anyway, so why is it a big deal? And if a word ISN'T censored, then why am I not allowed to say it? It's circles of uselessness.

Whether you have said the word or not it doesn't take a genius to figure out what you are saying to another forum member, the intent is still there.

Before this game I was beginning to believe that this could be a game of absolutes. To be honest, this game I've been wrong often enough when I was 100% sure to realize that often times things simply aren't what they seem. :o

Glot has a valid claim. Think about it, the PGO is supposed to piss people off and get them to try and kill him. Now the one thing that I am not sure about is the whole iMac busting into the room with a weapon in his hand and not getting killed. Problems I have with Glot's new claim.

1. Considering Hertz is Smith's nemesis and in the film Smith kills Hertz I find it very interesting that Smith is forbidden from killing the only person he probably wants or needs to kill. It makes no sense for a PGO to kill anyone that tries to kill him, but let his nemesis walk free.

2. Astil had to find Glot and lynch him in thread, from a mechanical point of view this renders the night targeting basically useless. Besides since when do scum have to get town to lynch the ones they want dead? By that token 'Taker should have removed the scum and SK kill and just let everyone sort out their problems with a lynch. Town shouldn't lynch town, hence why bad people have weapons.

3. If Astil wanted to get Glot lynched, why did he set up some kind of dual townie scenario ploy and then further it by saying his role changed when he targeted Glot? All that does is confirm them both. Whilst I can see why Astil would do this to stay alive all it does is make his own role even harder by making Glot seem townier and basically end his chances of winning anyway.

4. Isn't it far more likely Astil had to target Glot one night to find his target and the following night he could kill him? He was basically asearcher until he found his man.
