Not always the case at all. There are occasionally certain "secrets" a mod will keep from a player to make it more challenging. When a mod chooses to hide a part of their role, I'd say the most common one would be the Miller, but that's just me. As far as how often that happens, I wouldn't say it's common but I wouldn't say it's really all that rare either.

That's not a nexus, that's just untargetable. I seem to recall you creating chaos in that Zim game over the definition of nexus.

Oh, I agree, I much prefer the traditional version to be called as the Nexus. It seriously annoyed me that he changed how it worked without telling me, especially considering he didn't clarify until after people said they targeted me without being redirected to others. I was just like, "God damn it, Glot, what the hell?!" :p

I was seriously lucky that I pieced together the Humanity Alignment on Day 1, otherwise I'd of most likely gotten lynched. I mean, my role had a lynchbait feature to it already, with me not being able to say my character's name, I think it was bad enough without mis-naming the ability... :p

So my chances of being targeted are lower than others. Please explain this logic to me, because as I'm reading this it comes across to me as

"You're not good enough for a kill on night1"

Paws did say she thought he was telling the truth. That she only went along with the vote as she thought it was a lock to happen and a test for olf being sane was at least happening. Though I will say this if you think someone is a protector it shouldn’t matter what you think will happen, you don’t vote on them.

I think the only way he'd know is if it mentions the name of the target. Something like, "Your investigation of Bak42 has rendered a threat result" or something like that.

As it stands though, I think result PM's are more ambiguous than that.

I've never actually gotten one, though, so I couldn't tell you with much certainty how they are. The only time I've ever had an informative ability was in the 9000 game, where I was a thief/DC recruiter, and I died the same night as my first use of the ability, so I never got anything back from it.

Why I still don't trust Astil.

When I looked at the write up I saw that there are three insta.. instan... three times were some is ataked!

There is the time with the knife, the time with the guy screaming, and the time with guy who got his face burnd.

Now, I look at that and see only two people died, which means one attack either was not a kill, or the person who was attaked sur... surviv... lived because of his own power somehow. (though I doubt that).

Anyway, if one attack is not a kill, it may be a roleblock. If there is a knive kill, that is probably the SK. The other kill comes from the scum mafia group.

In our math class last week I learned that 1/4 of 36 is 9.

Which means, based on the write ups, either there is an 8 man scum group and an sk

2 scum groups and an sk tot... tota... coming up to 9 people (at least!)

an SK, a large scum group (5- people) and a cult (perhaps the hair dresser)...


Or, there is another atler.. alterna.. another way. My daddy, Big Papa ANtithesis once did a game called Sin. It had 40 people and only one scum group. Its started with seven people but could recruit one more. He also had an SK, and even a back up SK. But, to help make the rat.. rati... the numbers better for scum, he also tossed in a scum Indy who had to kill certain people before he could win.

I thought of this as all the people seemed to ass... assu... guess that being Indy means a good thing for the town. But it could be a bad thing just as well. And I won't believe Astil either way until more I see some more info... infor... more stuff.

I did not mean for it to come out positive just not aggressive. What I was trying to do was show her reasoning then follows up why it is bad which in turn should lead to questioning if her reason is truth an excuse, or a lie (I mean in people’s minds not the post). I should have made the lynched someone she thought was a protector more as it was the thing I wanted out there the most.

That wasn't even a response to that point, but anyway;

It should be noted that sometimes "their" and "they" is simply used in write-ups as a means of not giving away the gender of the person in question, and doesn't necessarily mean there were two killers. But it's a possibility.

Oh, I wasn't trying to imply that he was town (but I can see how it could have come off that way), I was merely stating that I wish I could have given some input as to what I thought. Personally, I was thinking to try and get a clear, decisive, answer from OleF (though upon re-reading the past pages/posts I can see that isn't needed now).

Also, yes, hindsight is always 20/20.

The lynch sucks for sure. The discussion for the lynch was mostly around the implementation of the character, and with some people actually using the fact that Drillbit Taylor couldn't be bought as a serious protector, that seemed to nail it for many.

C-Bot is justified for the reaction as he pushed against the lynch(MLT too to an extent) but those who believed him... among some of you weren't gonna act upon it for sure. Because hindsight always serves as a falling basket too. If bak came up scum, those who "believed" him wouldn't have said a word, would've golf clapped along and would probably have been disregarded by many for not speaking up too much.

Of course, there's scum around the lynch, but they may not be so clear-cut to fish out on this one. Still, being a power role there may be many to mull over.

True, we lost a LOT of time on this lynch. It was pointless to push so quickly. If those last 5-6 votes were not done so quickly it wouldn't seem AS bad, but a few names on that list pop out to me.

The last three voted within a minute or two of each other and none of the three had posted for what? at least 5 hours?

eh, well, was kind of a perfect storm for a mislynch. Someone comes forward unbidden claiming a result.

The suspect was a replacement (which could be construed a certain way on its own) claiming a power role but with a character its hard for some to assess at this stage. The suspect is burdened, not helped, by the fact that others leap to his defense and argue more on his behalf than he does himself.

The person he claims to have targetted may have possibly been roleblocked, but that can't be confirmed because no one can, or will, help place people in the write ups. Lynch follows thereafter.

ANyway, I'll throw this out there now. MLT and C-bot, whetehr they'll say it or not, they may have hesitated based on the circumstances with the FI in the CFC game, perhaps thinking it was another situation like that.

In retrospect that probably explains the pushback, since they are both vets and would know better than to defend someone who they can't be sure of otehrwise.

That said, good guys may want to avoid tunnel vision over this. If you think someone is supsicious based on the situation, do what you have to do, but don't assume anything as being demonstrative of proof. The town can easily run off the tracks chasing after too many bad wrong assumptions.

I think I should address this. First I want to say I am truly sorry if i offended you or anyone else. That was not my intent.

While I have something personal to deal with (nothing major just personal issues) I was also mad at something that was said that is totally untrue. I must say I am still a bit pissed at being accused of something I don't do.


For the record I have played EVER role given to me to the best I can. If I have not I would like a mod to speak up. In my opinion there is ONE who could but won't because it's over and done with. I've learned a lot from that, and I have not looked back to yet since.

I don't appreciate being attacked and that's how I felt. I took my snippy comments to the board when I should not have. I let it get into my head and that was wrong.

This made for a nice change as he hadn't had any time-off in a while, he'd had a few drinks at the bar and decided to have an early night. Don’t go out at night (locked up). When visited 3 things can happen normal (what ever the person was there to do), Freed (become a protector to the person who frees me), and Scare (blocks their ability from affecting me).

Today is the Aquatennial and right behind my building is the Mississippi river. Which means ski jumps and such are going on and I have to make sure people don’t or park behind the building meaning I will be away from my desk a lot. Seeing as behind my work is a giant car and bike path, yet our policy says people can only pass through and not stay. Saying this now so when people go look he left they know why.

If you choose to have your investigator get really, really specific results, the investigator is usually not wrong. Because for him to be wrong, he can't just be wrong; you have to make **** up. And it's just messy.

Because if he was town and came up Vampire Cult aligned and they were a legit group? That'd totally blow up for that group if they were skirting by unnoticed until that moment.

Of course it might not be a legit group you COULD argue, but the odds of that are slim to none.

Also, there was a loooooot of screamin' and killin' go on last night for only two deaths.

Also I feel like the dissolving formula has a really, really delayed effect.

And before long we're going to be seeing a looooot of deaths.

In one of my planned games I had a mechanic where a character could give out bombs disguised as presents every night.

And then when he died/"hit the button", all of them would go off and kill everyone holding one.

Lull the town into a false sense of security, and then BAM! That odd lack of deaths suddenly makes a lot more sense.
