Unless it's a discount due to being a betatester, I'm going with a no.

I can tell you from experience, beta testers don't receive discounts :(

If Adam were a character in the game, his personality would be Greedy and Cheap.

That's the beauty of sports games, at least for the developers/publishers. The rules of the sport, and thus the mechanics, rarely change, and so they can worry more about updating rosters and adding new features. And the fans of the game and/or the sport will buy the games not because the sport has changed, but the game has.

As an example why this usually doesn't apply to other games, think of it this way. For fans of Final Fantasy, especially X, this is relevant. Let's say Square Enix came out with a new version on FFX. But not with a new story like FFX-2. Just with some updated graphics and maybe better AI. And the price tag would be the same as the original. I'm sure almost no one who had bought and completed the original would buy this version. And when you lose your loyal fanbase, you lose money.

But for sports games, it's essentially the same thing yet people buy them every year, every update. Adam's lucky he grew up loving pro wrestling, not Final Fantasy (or at least liking one more than the other).

I have a friend that would be Greedy and Cheap easily, he still plays EWR 4 because he doesn't want to spend money on TEW even though he prefers it and they are his words.

People who have brought the last two games, a discount?! No I think people that have been playing since EW9000 and then got a newer computer to play EWD should get a discount ;).

Honestly though, surely Adam is just getting what he deserves for all of the work his puts in on the awesome games we buy. I haven't gone up to Nintendo and gone, 'Yo, can I have a discount on the New Super Mario Bros. since I did by 1, 2, 3, World, 64 and even Mario Is Missing!' But thinking about it I should. Sorry I started rambling carry on people.

Needing to buy a new computer to play EWD makes you a legend in my book ¬_¬

My phone could probably run EWD ;)

How about people that have been playing since before EW9000, have bought TEW2004, TEW2005, Wrestling Spirit, and Wrestling Spirit 2, can get a discount. Yeah, I fit these categories.

Well I could play the reduced version just not the full one, the computer was old and it sucked :(.

I thought this was about the new Loyalty feature he talked about in his developer's journal ... grr ... although it would be nice if someone has loyalty to a specific promotion, that he/she would be willing to sign for less than normal.

I started with the first TEW and played the demo for a year (thats what I call cheap) and bought 05 two weeks after it came out when I relized demos are no fun. Well actually they are.

Thinking of that I hope the demo comes out early agsin.

A discount would be good, considering i have bought all the games Adam ever made. But as i said earlier, i will buy this game irrelevant with if there will or won't be a discount.

Actually, just thought I'd comment on this . . . SE did exactly that, and it was pretty popular. It's called Final Fantasy X: International. Alas, it never came to America, which makes me very mad. I only hope the region-free system of the PS3 is backward compatible.

People are clamoring for Final Fantasy VII remakes for PS3, you know.

They bought the original, they'd buy the same game with pretty much nothing else but improved graphic and sound.

Hey, you're funny man, I kinda remember your nick but...ever did data for one of the previous games?

Was there a FF where the main guy didn't have a big sword? FF7 had two of them: Troubled yellow & spiked haired Cloud Strife and evil grey haired, but really bad ass, even more after seeing Advent Children, Sephiroth. He had a sword that was taller than he was.

I dont really understand this statement, but im still a little bit worse-for-ware from a hard night drinking!

It was the cloud fella i was talking about, the main character. I always thought his sword was to friggin big to swing tbh,but thats just my opinion! I guess it is a fantasy game, and in a fantasy game a 5foot guy could concievably wield a 9foot sword!
