DB Real World Update

Haven't got a proper name for it yet, but me and my team are working hard. So far completed are....

WWE:
Raw (entirely.. including movesets, pics, belts & belt pics, tag teams, everything.. even the ones not included on the Raw site.)
Smackdown is on it's way, i know the guy is working away on it.

NWA-TNA:
So far I've added and completed Nash, Hall, Jarrett, AJ, Raven, DDP and Chris Sabin. That includes movesets and everything. And all belts and belt pics etc...

RoH:
No workers, but everything is set up and ready.

FWA:
No workers but everything is set up and ready.

OVW:
Burchill - done
Matt Morgan - done

Extra Workers:
Randy Savage - done
Hulk Hogan - done
Ultimate Warrior - done
Goldberg - done

I started everything from scratch, including moves.. everything.


I'm looking for extra help if anybody is interested and in the pics department too.. as belts need cutting and sorting for me.

Anyway i've got a question for everybody and it's going to effect how i make the update.

Basically, obviously peoples estimates about how good you have to be in a stat to do a move isn't very accurate. If i gave Viscera his realistic stats.. he can't have nearly any of the moves he does on TV. Same goes for alot of workers.

SO, would you rather them have realistic stats, but lack alot of moves they do from their moveset.

Or have all their moves by having slightly over stats?

As the stats don't really seem to have any effect in the game, i've been doing it with the latter, but it's your update, so drop some feedback.

How can Viscera not have all the moves he does on tv? I mean, the man does like two or three moves and punches. :)

But I would say, that you put the stats of everyone over a bit.

If trademark moves and finishers can't be done, raises stats a bit, but if its only a few moves that he dosen't do that often dotn worry.

If it is a trademark move or finisher he should be the only one using thoses moves. Why not lower the stats that are needed to do the move instead of raising the wrestlers stats.

Most people have higher stats than what fans say they would. They need to, to be able to do what they do. They just don't show it all the time. Lots of people were able to bodyslam Big John Studd... just nobody was allowed to. That doesn't mean everyone who failed has a puny Power stat. Even the cruisers can run around doing piledrivers and other "Life 200 pounds over your head and toss it in that direction" moves.

Hi guys. i'm sorry for the delay in my update....
It was going extremely well and i was about to release the WWE, TNA and FWA packed game when my pc began to screw with me.

I wasn't able to get into my XP accounts as it kept auto logging me back out. I called out some pro's and they couldn't do a damn thing to save anything on my harddrive.

So i had to reset my entire system, losing my WrestlingSpirit update, all my games.. even my underground rap album which was nearly finished... Being the idiot i am, i hadn't backed ANYTHING up from May 2004.

I've finally got everything running again... minus the fact I can't use Windows Update as it won't co-operate with me. I'm using the Firefox browser now, as it's the only way i can use the net. And i'm straight back to work on the update.

Trust me, if you're frustrated about the delay, imagine how i am... all the ****in hours I put into it. One thing however was the pro's found a virus that had be put into my computer from a guy I'd spoken to on MSN.... i get the feeling it was the same guy who said he'd do so, if I didn't "lend" him my copy of Wrestling Spirit.. back when it was released. So if anybody knows of this son of a ***** is.... gladly, by all means.. have his pc destroyed :D

Anyway il'll start this damn update again now.. anybody up for giving me a hand again?

Ok, as there is alot of demand for a Beta version... I'll get to work on releasing it. I've already added a couple of Raw guys and a few legends.

I'll try and have a beta test of WWE, TNA and FWA done a.s.a.p. I've already made alot of the movesets and to save time, I'll allow you guys to do the testing with the beta.

So i'll have it out (with all hope) by the end of the month... if i'm ahead of schedule.. I'll give you a choice of releasing it early or adding another fed.

Ok i can say the update is now under works, I had a few teething problems with my pc after needing to reset it again. I could help with finishing moves if you need it. I don't trust myself to be impartial on wrestlers stats, but I should be able to do some moves for you.

I've found it's best to make the movelist with moves you know for a fact the wrestlers do or can do, and then check what stats are required for them. Since the skill stats don't seem to make a huge amount of difference in this game, generally just dictating which moves can and can't be done, only the toughness, stamina and such need to be carefully considered

One more thing though, I wondered if you guys would like a Commentary Pack with my update?, i could easily commentate moves, i know the name of just about everything, have excellent recording gear as i'm a rap artist, so quality would be good?. But it's entirely up to you guys, I may even take on a second person to do sound too?

Ok people, I'm back to work on the WreSpi update. Since the release of the Raw Exhibition pack, ALOT of re-working has been done to it including:

Most Finishers or Trademarks having their Wow, Ouch, Stiffness and Success Rates altered. Alot of additional moves added to the works that I either missed or forgot about. Updated pics for workers, worker stats updated and just about anything else that I could tweak.. is done.

So now i can get to work on Smackdown. I may do some updating later on, but for now... I gotta wash up, girlfriend will moan otherwise, lol. If anybody wants the Raw Exhibition Pack in it's updated form.. just say and it'll be uploaded.

Ok work's restarted on the update, i've been strapped for time lately and am even today.. however I've done my best to squeeze in a few workers in the short amount of time I had.

Some people have asked why it's taking so long, well it's down to movesets really.. next to EVERY wrestler has their own moveset in moden day wrestling so i'm having to do them one by one for every worker in the big league feds like WWE and TNA. When we reach the indies.. alot of the big guys will have default sets for Strong or Psycho styles.. etc. But until then, the update's won't be coming too thick and fast so bear with me while I get all these damn Movesets for WWE out the way.

Ok although I said i'm busy this week until Tuesday, I've actually still managed to slip in a little extra updating.

ADDED (With Movesets):
Al Snow - Completed
Big Show - Completed

Also ADDED:
All Default Movesets.. So game now allows a Career to start, although it's not recommened as there is only one promotion.

Also I've gone through the Stamina and Toughness levels on EVERY worker and tweaked them to give it a more a Shoot style feel, rather than the way I had done it before which would have suited EWR or TEW more. This now makes it harder to beat the workers who're known to be hard to beat.. i.e.. Big Show, Kane and HHH will be high, jobbers like La Resistance, Val and Maven are now easier to pick off.

Also I've tweaked the Spirit Points in the same way, but slightly differently.

So now being Big Show against Sylvain Greiner won't be a close call like it turned out in my original pack, Show would destroy him, with very little chance of defeat.

So if anything is off, lemme know and I'll fix it when it's done. Look out for around 10 workers to be added Friday and another bunch on Sunday.

Do i completely leave out OVW, FWA Academy etc.. and put the workers in those areas into the Development deal in their respective fed, or list the Development Territory as an actual fed?

I think it makes alot more sense to release the real world update with the complete WWE fed. It gives us the opportunity of trying it out while the other feds are being created. You could create different feds every week and add it in the next version. Boon and Rick are doing the same with their DOTT scenario by adding in feds with new workers and new pics. Their just updating every week.

It does take 3/4 months to complete a 23 real world feds within that month period, so my advice is to release WWE fed while you're working on another fed then release that fed in the next version. Sorry to throw ideas at you. I just think it works out that way.

No, that's not how we did at all. The scenario wasn't released until the actual DB was finished. Alot of people pestered us to release 'demos', but what was finally released was not a demo.

The additional promotions in Mexico and the UK Region were added in as we researched them.

All i've done is what people asked, I had finished up Raw and people begged to have a demo of it so they could wrestle in Exhibitions with the Raw superstars. So i released it while I was finishing up Smackdown (which is coming close to finish now).

I'm not sure if i'll release a demo of Raw & Smackdown, i may just hold it back until i've finished up TNA and ROH first, then release that pack while I continue to add in a few more US Indy's and some from UK.

To be honest i think it is best to release a RAW and SD demo as then some people can tell you any small moves you forgot before you move onto other things. Like the Jericho Springboard Drokicik i saw in the other thread.

Everybody has their WWE movesets, i took Aguliera's moveset u handed me and run it by a few people, but most said to just give him the moves he uses in WWE for now.. or which he's done about 4. I'll add the Seated Choke Slam with the TNA update though.

Ok updates done today, i've gone through all the stuff people mentioned and have fixed all bugs etc...:

Jesus - has had his Double Handed Choke Bomb added.
Paul London - has his Headbutt, Springboard Moonsault and Mushroom Stomp added, also for London, i went to add the Dragon Suplex like asked by he already had it (Full Nelson Suplex).
Shannon Moore - I checked that Halo and the Moregasm were in it after people said they weren't and BOTH moves ARE there.

Energy levels have been tweaked, no longer are Torrie Wilson's energy levels higher than the cruisers.. although when checking it, she had half Stamina and half Toughness of next to every cruiserweight, so i'm baffled how she showed up with more?

Highflying Moves made more powerful - Rana, FrakenRana, Head Scissors and another one, forgot it's name, lol

Highflying Moves with frequency raised - Shooting Star Press, London 450 Splash, Sommersault Legdrop, Senton Bomb and a few minor ones.

Body Leg Scissors has had it's Frequency lowered.

It was more than likely just a one shot deal for Punk much like WWE used ROH workers John Walters and Jimmy Rave, although word earlier in the year was that Mick Foley had spoken to Vince about Samoa Joe and C.M. Punk's amazing MOTYC back in October. Punk is from Chicago and that Heat was held in Illinois so that may have been a factor.

Also Damian it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense for Raven to be in ROH since he hasn't wrestled there since the end of 2003.

I think, I'm not 100% sure though that you put Steph in RoH on a Lifetime contract instead of WWE, unless RoH signed her to one in my game, but you have Shane on a Lifetime contract so I figured Steph would be as well, and that it was just a simple error on your part.

The Steph thing was prolly a slip up, i accidently put alot of the later workers in ROH, as originally only WWE were on the game and i didn't have to tweak the fed part. It'll be fixed.

As for the default moveset, i've left alot empty because in the real world, there isn't really such thing as a default moveset, minus a few styles in which everybody is the same.. mainly big workers.. every highflyer has something different that sets them apart, same with technical workers etc..

A default moveset is really only needed for the original worlds, because its quicker, requires less work etc.. but it makes alot of the workers the same and therefore boring.

They're necessary for the generated characters in career mode, though. That's how I found out, as I was teaming with a generated character and he didn't have any moves.

Hogan is all ready and roaring the unleash Hulkamania one more time on the update, as soon as TNA is done, you'll be able to use the Hulkster as he's on it with WWE. His finishers are the 'YOU! Big Boot' which is the punches and the big boot, and his two others are the 'Hogan Legdrop' and extra powerful Legdrop and his Japanese finisher which is basically a running hook clothesline. So yes is your answer.

As for most of the mannerisms, it seems like alot of people want them, i personally opted not too cuz it makes it too easy to put on a good match, you can just stand there with a friend taunting each other for 10 minutes and it's an A+ classic. Not what i call earning it, but if you guys want them, I can put in a few I guess.

I'm currently doing a Molly career, and on Monday, week 3 of May 2006, she beat Shawn Michaels for the World Heavyweight Championship.

This means that she is simultaneously holding the Women's, Intercontinental, and World Heavyweight belts.

I added quite a bit to her moveset for taking on bigger guys, but the only thing she's missing now is being half of the tag champs.

Well, I tweaked her stats a bit, especially stamina and psychology. I also added lots of DDTs and Neckbreakers to her moveset, since they can be used on people of any size.

I might start a new Molly career in a few weeks and do a diary for it. Decided that this would be a challenge after winning a world title within a year in Shelton Benjamin and Paul London careers.

I've finished most of what I said, but there's a finisher that I can't find a description of anywhere. James Storm uses something called the Eight Second Ride, but I have no clue what it is. Could anyone help?

Well as we were getting ZERO feedback from TNA fans about workers regular moves and finishers.. I've decided to make Generic Movesets 1-5 for each style and until people step forward... alot of TNA, ROH etc... (with workers I don't know very well), will be working with standard movesets which'll likely be nothing like the actual worker.

So look for a TNA vs WWE pack out in the next few weeks

Theres a few fans at the forum for Smackdown vs Raw at Gamefaqs.com I know there was a save for the game containing 32 TNA wrestlers they would have movelists if not totally correct. They would be close enough and wouldn't have any major problems. I'll ask there and see if anyone has a .txt of the movelist. If no one does I can just download the save and copy out the move lists for the wrestlers in it.

I copied the movesets from Adam's original game, move for move.. took a lil' while but it'll help with new workers and the Indy workers.. I'll post my new stuff tomorrow (after removing the stuff that I gave you before). The zip will also contain a file giving signature moves that the people use so you can set up their move sets more easily.

Those won't work. That's just me giving him the stuff I've done so that he could incorporate it into his data set. You can add those moves to the Cornellverse data if you'd like to though.
EDIT: I just bumped the download thread so that people can find it to download the Raw/Smackdown update.

U copy all the files into a new folder where the other data file is

so u have 2 file folders

then load the game

and select the folder u want at the top left of the screen

lol yeah, but i'm pleased to tell you all that there is now another guy helping me with the update. He's been adding in movesets all night, which will allow me to add extra workers in for the release. Unfortunetly I was disconnected last night and when I was able to get back on MSN, he'd gone. But as soon as I speak to him next, I'll get the update back and we'll continue adding more movesets.

We're about 50% through every moveset in the game, so not only will you guys get the WWE/TNA/ROH pack soon but it won't be long until other feds are piled in too.

As I can add any movesets currently (as he has the update with 15 new ones on that I don't), I'm busy adding a massive number of moves to the update.

I know this update has taken long than expected, but at least mine is still alive and going.. it WILL be out shortly, lol

True about 100%, because if you think about it, to get everything done in the wrestling world it would take forever, as it changes daily. Half the work i've had to do, is simply re-doing the workers and adding to WWE and TNA. But once we've got a good bit into the game it'll be alot easier.

100% of what I plan to release, I'd say you're VERY close, it's mainly down to movesets right now, as ALOT of Indy talent in ROH and low carded TNA workers, just use generic moves and don't really have their own moveset. It's just the big names who drain time.

As soon as I get the update back, I'll add 15 more movesets, leaving about 10 for my co-helper and another few for me.. I'll fill the rosters and it'll be out.

Not to interject here, but I'd point out that no one working on this project is being paid for doing so. And for that matter, they're not legally permitted to be paid for it. So I think it's best that everyone relax, let these talented individuals do their work, and be happy when it is completed without constantly worrying about when it will be completed.

I'm just as anxious to play this scenario as I'm sure everyone else is, but you've gotta put these things in perspective, is all I'm saying. I know I haven't got nearly enough patience or time to create my own database, and when you consider that they're creating every last detail from scratch, including individualized movesets for each wrestler (or at least every important wrestler), you can understand how much time this kind of thing takes.

In addition, the people working on the scenario also need to have time to eat, sleep, go to work, go to church, have fun, go out with friends, and do all the things that human beings do. So perhaps you could consider cutting them some slack?

Well, work and family have taken up a good chunk of my time and have hindered my progress in the update so far, but rather than explain, let me just clarify something for you guys.

Damien and I are both working on this as hard as we can. We both have jobs out in the real world, we both have lives. This is turning out as expected and we're working to fix every glitch we come in contact with, so be patient. I'm sorry it's taking so long, but we are trying our hardest.

And thanks for those that are sticking up for us. We aren't being paid, and you don't have to pay for this update either. Also, I work roughly 10 hours a day and my fiance' also takes up a good bit of my time. I have a life, just like you do. Might want to think about that next time you're going to post about how long it's going to take for this update.

But to pacify those of you who are getting a little bitter towards this whole project, here's the progress I've managed to make over the past couple of days:

Ok basically due to there being no 'Import Moveset' option, it slows the update down, as only one guy can work on it at a time and if one guy gets slowed down by the simple things in life, it slows the whole thing down.. it's happened to me, it's happened to Murdermachine, it's just how things are.

The federations in the game are:
WWE
TNA
ROH

All have title pictures, logo's and worker pictures etc...

The list of workers is huge, 125 to be exact and I've barely started adding the workers in ROH yet! Addy Indy talent will be easy as most will use generic movesets, it's adding the movesets that take time.

To add 10 generic movesets, requires writing it all down move for move and then putting it together, testing all the requirements, re-naming incorrect movenames, adding new moves an don and on. I takes a good few hours to add a handful of movesets in the quality detail we're doing.

Hell I made every TNA and WWE worker a moveset (or two), from scratch, thats alot of movesets. It's draining and hard work, but as many have said, it's being done for free.

Thank you for those sticking by the update, it WILL be out unlike 99.999999999999999% of the others that start and vanish when people realise, adding 2 workers is easy, adding a few hundreds with movesets to match, isn't.

All rosters are up to date, but thanks to WWE cutting, hiring and re-hiring every day, it means every day we get one step nearer to being done, we get two steps behind again. I've had to rewrite Matt Hardy's bio 4 times, lol
