Is there any difference between playing Superstar mode with a created guy aged 17 with poor stats, and playing Rookie to Legend?

I ask because I want to start with pre-selected stats because I have a cool idea, but I just wondered if anything would happened differently if I did that...

I'm not positive because I always play rookie to legend, but is the age requirement different for Superstar mode? Other than that, I would think you would be fine.
