Zo Mourning, Aaron Williams, Eric Williams, 2 first round draft picks
for
Vince Carter
What do you guys think of this deal? Who wins, who loses? When I first heard about it, I immediately thought "Jason Kidd for Vince Carter", and am shocked that the Nets got him without giving up Kidd.
I personally think the question as to who wins this deal comes down to how Vince plays. Was he upset at being in Toronto, and is that why his numbers are down this year? Or is it the injuries. I'm not sure I can answer that question.

Wow... well I agree with you, it will come down to how good VC plays. If Carter and Kidd mesh well then I think New Jersey gets the best of it because the players they sent to Toronto aren't reliable starting material and more NJ wins = lower first round picks.
However, if Carter doesn't play good, I still think New Jersey got the better end. They could always trade him in the offseason, he still draws some interest.

Does anyone really think that Kidd/Carter/Jefferson will be an improvement over Kidd/Jefferson/Martin?
The Nets have zero post presence and are a poor rebounding team. If Carter magically turns into the Heir Apparent once again, then fine - the Nets come out ahead. Keep in mind though that the Raptors were pretty happy to dump Carter for two rugged defenders, a bad contract (Mourning) and two 1sts. That's gotta tell you something.

From Chris McCosky, Detroit News:
Speaking of things that don't make sense -- how is Vince Carter leading the All-Star voting? Are Larry Brown, George Karl and the rest of the North Carolina mafia stuffing the ballot box, or what? I loved the exchange on TNT between Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley on Thursday. Taking about Carter, Smith starts his bit, "Half man..." and Barkley interrupts, "Half a season." Barkley was asked if Carter ever was a superstar. "No, no he was not. Just because you can win a dunk contest and get on ESPN, that doesn't make you a superstar," Barkley said. "That makes you a highlight reel. Vince Carter is a good player, but on this team he's your third-best player." Amen, Chuck.
That pretty much sums that up!

Half man, half a season .....
I find that to be extremely humorous. I bet the street baller Half Man Half Amazing would love to hear that. He was pretty pissed VC had his name.
