Suggestions about future PC WWE Wrestling games

Hi Adam Raylanad and all guys !

I thought Wrestling Spirit will be a real wrestling game like wwe raw & others , I downloaded two times & spent a lot of time because I was very excited when I saw the pictures . I thought they will fight , but you know when I played the demo :mad: :mad: Its nothing , no fight , no ring , no entrance , no nothing . I dont understand what is the use of a "Wrestling game " when you cant even go to ring & fight .I have played almost all wrestling games on PC . ( except PS2 , GC, or XBOX)I also played Mdickie's Wrestling Mpire. Its a very nice try and is a nice game but poor faces .

I am myself trying to learn and use the most advanced graphics softs like maya, Max, D-BaSiC, & , and game designing languages but I know its very difficult .


Well my suggestion to all PC Wrestling game designers is that , in this age of competition , when PC wrestling games are not released like others (PS2 & XBOX) if you are making a wrestling game , try to make it as realastic as possible & try to use real stuff as they did in WWE RAW PC .Try to make it entertaining , no matter how much time does it take .

The fact that it's not a button-masher has nothing to do with that fact. A good game doesn't need 3d graphics and 'real stuff'. If you want the kind of game you describe, you really should be playing actual WWE games on PS2/XBox/GC. There's a big difference in style and presentaion (not to mention gameplay, but you seem to be hung up on the former).

And as for real life stuff... nothing is more realistic then the Wrestling 1983 scenario.

I'm sorry - but this game is one of Imagination, and a darn fine one at that. If you need to have blips and bloops, I imagine that a text-based game wouldn't be of interest to you. You'd certainly be missing out, though.

Just curious, but did you actually get to have a match? You said "when you cant even go to ring & fight"....which isn't true, as you do go to the ring and have matches throughout your career. From reading your post, it sounds like maybe you have just been going through the different menus, and haven't actually got yourself a contract and been booked in a match? If so, I suggest started a Superstar career as Tadiyuki Kikkawa, as then you should get a match for BHOTWG on the very first day.

Yes I know this is a text based game . But All I want to say is that 3d wrestling games are infact more entertaining than Text based games & 80-90 % people prefer 3d Wrestling games.

The game is good but text based thats why I dont play it , but make it clear in the forum that it is a text based game , otherwise people are confused and they think its a 3d game like i did .

If someone here is making a New Wrestling game plz make it 3d like other PC games . I will try to post our work soon (maya). We are not making game but we keep working on Graphics & Models etc.

It's made very clear that it's a text game; Not only is there a screen shot showing a match in progress that is clearly textual, but there's a section at the very top of the FAQ called "What style is the game", which begins with the line "The game is text based...".

Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion that 3D games are more entertaining than text based games, but I would hope that you're aware that not everyone shares your tastes, and that 3D games aren't automatically superior (played Backyard Wrestling 2 recently :p ). By your own guess, 10-20% of people don't prefer 3D wrestling games - well that's quite a large number of people who are looking for an alternative then, one which TEW and WreSpi provide. If you don't like it, that's cool, but there are plenty of people who do.


PS - In your first post you said we should use "real stuff". Presumably you meant WWE wrestlers - it's called licensing, it prevents people from doing that without getting sued.

There is only so long that you can play a 3D Wrestling game before it gets repetative and no fun, atleast with Mr Ryland's games you are forced to use your mind, which it looks like the originator failed to accomplish.

Alright if you made it clear that its a text game , its ok . Sorry but I was confused & I didn't read the FAQ . I am just frustrated because THQ is not releasing games on PC platform like they did for others .

:) yes you are right every one does not share my taste but I am always looking for the best 3d graphics ......

some of 3d games get boring after some time , but not all Wrestling games because I use my hacks , or do modding In my favourite games

Nobody can use names, images, or anything else that is copyrighted by WWE or any other real promotion, without a license. For example, your graphics that you have linked to at the bottom of your post break copyright law as you are using the "Raw" logo - if you to release them publically, the WWE could take legal action against you.

I think that actually Text based is better for this. I mean its jjust gonna be another sd vs raw but for pc and fake wrestlers with harder controls. Plus if he was to do 3-d then he would have to do a lot mor coding, he would have to get a lot more designers and there would be much more people sponging of his profits, and it would just take a hell of a long time!

I had a lenghty answer for this, but I've decided to throw it away.

This is what it is. Text-Based. You have only yourself to blame if you expected anything else. These are the mothers of all text-based wrestling games, and the ultimate mother of all SMART wrestling games. If/When Adam does a graphical game, it will knock your socks off, THQ will lose market shares and it could even be picked up for console release. I'd like to see him try, personally.

But as long as people are clamoring for "Real World" stuff and not embrassing the 'Verse, and we've got work to do on this one too, it's not all the people's burden to take it like it is and learn to love it, then a graphical game would be futile. For the effort it would require, possibly learn LOTS of new stuff for Adam, you'd have to have a strong support for the CornellVerse and people would need to accept that as THE characters of Adam's games. You don't want Triple H in Mortal Kombat, don't you? No, you'll want traditional MK characters. The 'Verse are the characters for Adam's games. They are the real world of Adam's games.

And that's that. Reality Sucks. Fantasy Rules.

It means liscensing really troubles , its risky job of course . I think once you got a liscense then its ok . But my friends who are making their game dont care ,they use all stuff from WWE ! but I have never heared that they took any legal action against someone in these cases !

And for those who think Text games are better than 3d games , I dont know in which world they live . They are only funny and thats all . Well What ever , the fact is that "Majority likes to play 3d games" . As I said earlier "its an age of competition" & Game developers are making progress in improving the games graphics .

Plus : If we look at the other games most of the people like 3d games other than wrestling. Thats why they are always on the top in Gamerankings .

And why would we want to do it, in my opinion, WWE is completely putrid! It takes no brain to copy someone. Takes A LOT to do something new.

Graphical games from us, they could come some day. It's in Adam's hands. But we have work to do before that. And I'm sure they won't be the "WOW! WHAT GREAT GRAPHICS! ok, so you can win with your eyes shut wailing on the pad with your feet, BUT WOW WHAT GREAT GRAPHICS!!!!" kind. An uber polished Isometric 2D game would take meaningful parts of that market. A.I. is the name of the game, and Adam can do that. Animation and art is important too, and that's some I don't know if we can do. But in time, we'll find a way. You'd play stick figures with pasted on faces if the A.I. would be good.

With that being said, I'd like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope you find a brand new copy of Smackdown VS Raw under the tree to fulfill your me-too game cravings. Thank You.

Hey Phil Parent ! I saw this post after few days . lol I think I posted only 5 times . And , who said that We "love" each other? , ofcourse we dont ok ! First of all dont try to start a fight here. Dont mind but I think I asked Adam a serious Question and he answered me thats all. I know you dont like whatever I write, but when you dont like any one's opinion you have to be patient !! as you see Adam has answered my question and satisfied me , Please Please dont interfere atleast here in this thread ok . And as far as your post is concerned , I am sorry I really didn't understand that completely what kind of English you used :) . Yes may be becoz my English is not good or you used slang........ All I concluded is that as Adam said , they can take legal action against those game designers who are trying to use the WWE stuff . so In my game , whenever I made, I have decided to use 3d Graphics but "Imaginary" characters etc. Thats all .

Ok. im only posting to be a smartass and say that, Yes, I would LOVE to be able to rip off HHH's head and tear out his spine then kick his lifeless body off of a bridge down 50 ft into a bed of spikes!
