The only thing I don't really like about the Apollo figure is that it always seems a bit dead/limited around the eyes/brow area, but every figure has it's flaws. I'd agree though that those recent renders are amongst your best. The brighter lighting seems to really help.

Thanks for the kind words guys. as for the lighting, I've been using this lighting for about 2-3 months now, I just think that it comes out brighter on Apollo(not sure why though :))

Just a word of advice TymmG, since you asked for this a few pages ago, you might want to mention that. So two people don't attempt the same render. It can be frustrating and seen as rude since everyone here is doing the renders voluntarily.

I suspect my request might have been swallowed up in the ether, but that happens.

Just acknowledge it's a rerequest or quote the previous request.

Or the renderers may make Tymm look less Johnny Nitro and more John Nord. :D

A man roughly around 22 -23 in age. Again, a great physique, mildly muscled, and good looking. He has CM Punk style facail hair just a little bit less visual, and jet-black hair that reaches the middle of his neck.

He sports some black, baggy jeans, with a link-style chain coming out of one of the front pockets and twisting around to one of his back pockets.

He wears some black fingerless gloves, and alas, some regular black armbands that start just above the elbow, and end slightly more down the wrist.

And Tymm... I tried to be gentle, it's like Trell said it's just a good habit to get in to. There's a real civility to these boards, one that I find refreshing (and a lot of others do too.) No hard feelings or anything like that.

As a quick side question to those working on mods (including Trell), will any of these mods be available for public download, or are they personal projects? The renders you guys have done have been incredible, and I know I'm not alone in being interested to see characters put to the renders. (NOTE: Apologies if this question has been asked before, I didn't happen to catch it if it has)

Thanks for the comment, as far as the best, I think that goes to the others in this thread, Undertaker, Sebsplex, Haloed, Blasphemywebleed, J Silver, VBigB (King of Female Renders)jtlant (awesome Japanese renders) and anyone else I forgot. There work is so much better than mine.

All I can say is that the mod that I am working on will be put out to the public, probably wont see the light of day till TEW08 though. I cant speak for haloed on his mod, but it would be awesome if his was. :)

You might want to check the first post of the thread, where the rules are listed. You need to contact the renderers directly and obtain permission to use any of the renders posted here for anything beyond personal/private use.

sorry, doesnt quite work that way, you have to physically PM each renderer that you plan on using there work and ask them. you asked this question before and J silver said that you had to ask each individual renderer.

as far as my work, it is already being used in my mod so the answer on my work is yes, I mind if it gets used in your mod. sorry to sound rude, but thats why I put up the "for display purposes only"

the point of png renders are that there are no backgrounds when we cut them, if we do Jpg there is either a black background or a white background, and if you have someone with long hair it might be hard to cut out all the backgronud.

I've made a couple of my own textures but not for any of the TEW renders i've done. Any of the skin textures i've created was for off topic work, alien skins, bloodied and bruised skins etc.

I actually only own 7 or 8 skin textures all of which i've bought from Daz3d.com

I owe it all to my good buddy Undertaker666, he gave me some good postwork tips, I combined them with my own and i'm happy with the results. In fact its probably worth noting i'd be nothing without Undertaker666, i'd be a sad lonely shell of a man without him, he brings meaning to my life and brightens up my days. I would even go as far to say that somehow it is also down to him that I have a beautiful wife and child. Lets all hear it for Undertaker666 hip hip....... hooray :p

I've been rendering for a couple of weeks now, and while this is not my favourite thing I've done, it is the one I happened to finish last.

The white flecks are something to do with the texture. I usually remove them with MSPaint, but I won't be getting on a PC much in the future (Mac ftw) so they'll probably stay. I'm not as ambitious as Blas. A nice, clean, almost cartoony style works for me. Don't want to sound arrogant (who am I to say people would actually want to use this?) but I'm using it for a mod, so this is display only.

I've been rendering for a couple of weeks now, and while this is not my favourite thing I've done, it is the one I happened to finish last.

The white flecks are something to do with the texture. I usually remove them with MSPaint, but I won't be getting on a PC much in the future (Mac ftw) so they'll probably stay. I'm not as ambitious as Blas. A nice, clean, almost cartoony style works for me. Don't want to sound arrogant (who am I to say people would actually want to use this?) but I'm using it for a mod, so this is display only.

Looks good. Although the "white" flecks are actually to do with your lighting and how it is reflecting on the skin. You can get rid of it by adjusting the specularity of the skin in the surfaces tab.

Also Self, my postwork is far from ambitious. I make 4 image adjustments and then do touch ups with 2 brushes. All in all post work on one of my renders takes less than 10 mins.

Mine too... he does get around a bit.

Seriously, it's alway nice to give yourself as little postwork to do as possible, but like good lighting can make or break a render, postwork can also take an image to the next level.

Personally, I use one filter in paint shop pro and then get busy with the touch up brushes (although sometimes I overdo the smudge brush).

On a sidenote, my participation in this thread is going to be pretty limited since the GDS-Verse stuff will take priority once TEW 08 comes out. That's more than enough rendering to keep me busy.

Thanks a lot. Been trying to practice or read up on some tutes whenever I get a chance. That last one is definitely my favorite so far, especially after all I've had to go through. I just updated to 2.1....whatever the rest is and apparently it isn't very Apollo friendly so I had to find a work around.

A man roughly around 22 -23 in age. Again, a great physique, mildly muscled, and good looking. He has CM Punk style facail hair just a little bit less visual, and jet-black hair that reaches the middle of his neck.

He sports some black, baggy jeans, with a link-style chain coming out of one of the front pockets and twisting around to one of his back pockets.

He wears some black fingerless gloves, and alas, some regular black armbands that start just above the elbow, and end slightly more down the wrist.

Figure I may as well go ahead and request the one I've wanted done for years. Sadly, it's been like..10 years, I've wanted this one.

If it's at all possible to get a most-body shot, I'd be really thankful, but if not, would completely understand.

Would have a teen heart throb-ish face, crystal blue eyes. Golden blonde dyed hair spiked up with dark roots just barely visible at the bottom.

If it's possible, less of a blockish look than most wind up with, and without the V coming down onto the forehead. I really don't get why that was standard. Looks really..odd.

If you decide to do more than a head shot, he'd have a toned upper body. Not really muscular, but not..wimpy. White tape on both hands from the start of the fingers back to wrist tape. The right would have a black S on it, and the left a pink J, turned so if he held his hand straight out, it would look right to him.

For the outfit, I'll let whoever decide which.

On a nitpicky level, the right elbow does seem to go through the armrest a bit, but not enough to really detract from the image.

Haloed, I love those masked renders, particularly the alt on the other page. That mask really does stand out. Have you experimented much with different transmaps?

Trell, I know you don't seem to rate your own renders very much, but that last render you did is just an example of how far you've come along really.

I had noticed the elbow, but wrote it off by just saying it was a cushioned rest and he had sunk into it a little :cool:

Thanks a lot Sebs. Can't say that I have experimented with transmaps, because honestly I'm not entirely sure what they do. I just basically try to put together whatever I think looks good, there's a lot of stuff I have no idea about, but I learn as I go.

Yep, as blasphemy said above, the top one is rievel. The bottom one is devenar (I think that's how it's spelled) tweaked down a bunch to fit closer to the head.

Just wanted to re-request this.....

Mutant, a big guy think 6'11ish, with a undertaker/kane kind of intensity about him.

I think the problem just now (in my case anyway) is that everyone is working on their respective mods at the moment. The thing with your request is it would require a lot of postwork to pull it off which can be time consuming and I'm not sure anyone has the time to do it at the moment (Obviously I dont speak for everyone but it is the reason why I cant do it just now).

My question would be what is the best program (free if possible - is there even such a thing as a free download??) to start attempting renders on? I recall a couple being mentioned but I know nothing about them.

Also, if not too cheeky, could I request a user character please? Grungy, skinny backyarder, in his teens, long dark hair and a lip ring. Please. Anything that anyone could do would be awesome. Cheers.

I use Daz studio wgich is free. There are also some free addons for it, however most you will have to pay for. It's pretty easy to get to grips with and after a couple of days playing around with it I created my first render. I like to think I've been getting better with each render, but who can tell.

As for your request, I personally don't do render requests for people. Nothing personal against anyone, but I just never do. Not sure if Trell, Blasphemywebleed, haloed or any of the others do.

Cheers Fleisch, will be looking into Daz. I'll have a go just for a laugh and if I can do something half-way decent I'll be happy. I can understand why people wouldn't do requests considering the time that they can take to do (and with the new TEW coming out).
