Hey buddy,
could i use this guy a new worker in the sci-fi mod please?
Go ahead.
And now, clearly ignoring the fact that this belongs in the off-topic render thread,

Too much disturbing content to comment on, so I'll just say nice various renders. ;)
I'd like something similar to Starman of Nintendo's Pro Wrestling, if possible to keep to similar colors of the pink & blue

I was trying to make him a "friendly old veteran" type at first, but when I started working with his eyebrows I saw the potential for him to look... well, unpleasant. Glad I managed to strike the right chord!

hey guys im looking for render full body or head shot up to you.
ive already got a character in my mod called Smas Mouth Steve Michaels. Which you guys did a render for me :) :)
i need one for his cousin i havent decided on a name yet but he will be the Heart Throb Superstar. He will be in his early 20's. Long light brown hair which is parted. Good looking and for him to look very self confident or ****y. Hell be about 5 foot 11 and to have a body like the old shawn michaels toned but not overly muscular. if you can do him in a ****y pose like Randy Ortons that would be great.
If any 1 does a body render which i dont expect coz a head shot is fine could he have an attire like Edges but with hearts plus stars on it and in red and white.
i know i may ask alot for some one wit poser himself but mine are crap lol some thanks guys

No problem, glad to have helped! One thing though, looking at your picture the braid looks solid instead of hair-like, this is probably because you've turned off the texture itself. To check, look at the box beneath the Braid's Diffuse Colour and it'll most likely say "None". You'll probably also find that the Tail has the same thing. If you reapply a texture to the hair then it'll look much better. :)

im gona be cheeky because im asking for another one since im posting a reply.
again head or body shot
longish dark brown hair just past the ears which is straight and tidy. id like him to have a chin strap like Triple H, he will be in his late 30's so id like him to look mature but still handsome. I would also like for him to be very toned and chiseld like Chris Benoit is with broad shoulders. He could be in wrestling ear which would resemble Ric Flairs attire but would Danger signs on the side. Or in a very smart suit with or without glasses pref both
making 'Dangerous'Darren Lewis or Double D for short

Well I haven't found any belt models around so I figure one of us who has HEX, Cararra or another modeling program would have to come up with a model first. I have considered it but there is a lot to learn (even though a belt seems fairly simple) to make something useable, that UV maps well so that its easy to texture.
Anyway I do have some ideas but it would not be a project I can take on anytime soon (Heck maybe not until mid june), just because I don't have time to dig into and play around with that aspect of Cararra and I've never used HEX 2.1 yet as I just got it on a very good deal last month.

For anyone who's asking for a rendered version of the titles, you can find the textures here (http://dexpac24.proboards36.com/index.cgi?board=Freebies&action=display&thread=1102618428).

I like the texture work around the eye and the eyes themselves, those look great J Silver. The hair looks a little solid, but that can be sorted with a little postwork and the trusty smudge and soften brushes. Also the shadow on the lower neck doesn't quite seem right. Where is the mask from? I don't recognise it.

Yeah, the hair I used is pretty bad, but the style fit for what I was going for so I used it anyways. I probably should've done a little more post work first though. The shadow? I probably missed a morph somewhere. The mask is from Wild Hunt: Wildenlander (http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/shop/itemdetails/-/?item=4492).

Good stuff J Silver. The black one definitely looks sharp. When I mentioned the shadow, it's just the way the lighting is angled that I think threw me off as at first, the shadow area around the bottom neck part of the mask didn't seem right.
Ok, here's my only render tonight. Continuing in the same vein as I did with the previous Stone bodyshots, here's one of one of personal CVerse favorites, Wolf Hawkins...
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j178/sebsplex/TEW%20Diary/WolfHawkins.jpg
This render proved fairly hard since I suspect the original was made using the David character and not trusty old M2. Nevertheless since the wrestling gear is designed for Mikey boy, I had to try and get as close as I could to the original using that model with a little artistic license. I don't know if/when I'll get another fullshot done, I just did these for practice and kicks and for a quick break from other bits and pieces. I imagine I'll give another CVerse worker the same treatment sometime.

Once again, I must compliment all of the great work going on in this thread!
I was also hoping for a little help with a pic for two characters:
1) The Ex-wife of Richard Eisen (think Linda McMahon type character).
I'm not tied to any particular look for the character -- just a female
the right age to have been married to Richard and be Eric's mother.
2) A manager for the Underwater Union. I definately see something like
Davey Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean for a heel, but I'm totally
open to artistic license for a face manager.
Thanks to anyone who has the time and is willing to try their hand at these.:)

I was thinking more along the lines of the Cano brothers in Mexico, given that those are my two least favourite renders in the entire CornellVerse right now, and one does fit in well with the "Silver Warrior" nickname.

For me, it's not done as a living although I have made some renders in return for fairly token fees or inexchange for props. Really more in an attempt to get poser to pay for itself in the long run. Having efedded for a good while, I always liked the poser work when it was introduced to the hobby and fairly recently had an unexpected windfall (tax screwup) so spent a portion of that on getting poser and a few add-ons. There is a decent amount of free stuff out their and with a bit of experience, you can sometimes save of certain props with post work, texture work or some transmapping.

Inspired by J Silver's latest renders, I made a new transmap for the xena wrestling mask and cut it in half. Here are just a couple of random renders testing different textures and what not on it. In the second I tried to make it more like a bandana.

Didn't notice that message.. To do some really good renders you either have to be good at modifying any freebies you stumble across or you do have to shell out. I raided Daz's site when i was a platinum member to get most of what i have.
As for doing it for a living. Its something that i would love to do, but havent found a place to do it yet.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Cano brothers in Mexico, given that those are my two least favourite renders in the entire CornellVerse right now, and one does fit in well with the "Silver Warrior" nickname.
Good read. Goths are big in lucha atm. And if you use the JSilver red render you could add aother brother Cano.

Gangster. Oh, and i'm not sure if anyone may have missed this request:
--a hispanic looking fellow. Bit of the 'roid rage (angry, muscular). Bald. Wearing a dark blue policeman's uniform.
--also hispanic. sort of a scumbag. think "one of the biker's in the bar scene in From Dusk Til Dawn." wearing something (hat, scarf, etc) with the Confederate flag as a logo.
Thanks to anyone who might try these two.

Hi guys.
One of the top heels of my federation is a guy with a pretty solid MMA background: he basically wrestles his matches switching between a slow, methodical pace (almost toying with the opponent) and occasional bursts of mean, hard hitting brutality which usually end with nasty submission moves.
So far (that would be...since EWR, basically :D), I've been using no pic at all, but on rare occasions I did, and I always ended up using Dan Severn's face: he's the real-life-guy who fits mosts the look I have in mind for him.
A bit like that:
http://www.martial-arts-network.com/ohio98/severn.jpg
or....
http://members.tripod.com/worldkarateunion.org/0a02f7c0.jpg
Ahem.
But I wasn't s quite satisfied, since I'd like a more "in character" picture.
He's supposed to be quite c_ocky in and out the ring, but on the ring he plays his heelish persona in a very obvious way. A great deal of taunting, sadistic uber-heel mode...and he does the eeeeeevil smirk a lot, basically.
And when I think of a confident smirk, for some reason I picture...
Grand Admiral Thrawn in TIE Fighter!
http://images.hugi.is/scifi/63099.jpg
Ok, that's pretty much a stretch, lol. But that was just to give you the idea, and a stereotype always helps: you can see the pointed, protruding chin very well, and it adds to the "oh, eeeevil!" effect. Oh, and I love the eyebrows and the big veins on the forehead. ;)
Basically I'd love to see what take you might have on this character. Which could be quite far from the original, I posted a couple of images just to give some visual aid, I don't trust my english very much.
Oh, just keep the 'stache, please. ;)
Of course, it's just a request like many others, and if you're just not interested, no big deal. Thanks anyway for your time reading this! ^_^

You basically need either a different texture map made for that hair or you need to follow the steps in this tutorial http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/tutorial/tutorial/-/?id=1864
The following pic shows what can be done using some of that tutorial on only a portion of the hair (at least I think thats waht I did...I did this render quite a while ago):
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p65/VBigB/asian2b.png
It will have varrying results depending on how the hair was modeled and textured. I actually recommend going through a few tutorials on that site when you first start out.
Also since you said your in the platinum club, I would brouse around that area and see if there are any skin textures for 1.99. Also Micheal 3.0, Aiko 3.0 are currently free to plat club members. Victoria 4 is $1.99 with Plat club. http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/shop/catmain/-/?cat=6
Anyway I would get used to DAZ first before you buy too much. And continue to ask question and I'll try to help out :) .

Just thought I should clarify that those are the base versions. To do some of the morphs that you see us doing you need a morph pack for the figure (which sucks more money out of your pocket unfortunately...hence the reason I told you to get used to DAZ and go through tutorials before buying too much).

Nice work. I believe the default low rez skin textures for Vikki 4 Base are under the content tab "Studio/People/Victoria 4/Materials/V4 Sample Rez". Select V4 in the scene and the double click !All_Natural_NG. That will help with her skin by adding a texture but the sample textures are low rez.
You an also go under the Surface tab on the right hand side of the screen. CNTR and mouse click on every "Skin" surface. Then scroll to the bottom of that menu and change the lighting model from "Plastic" to "Skin" which will improve how the light plays off the surface.
Hope that isn't too confusing (I don't have the banwidth to post a screen shot of what I'm talking about from here).

If he used the default intaller, David should be under "Content/Figures/DAZ People". Most of daz figures install there with the exception of the freak, shefreak, the girl and Aiko. Anyway if David is not there, Astil, open the readme file for David. It should give you a listing of where files should have been installed. Then you can check using windows explorer if they are there or not (at least that might help me figure out whats wrong).

Oh, so moving away from the 150X150 size? I was wondering quite how you would approach it, since in the world of MMA where fighters don't have masks, gimmick makeup, etc I just expected the pics to be scaled differently so that the faces were a bit less prominant and allow for more upperbody and gloves (similar to Bryan Vessey's TEW shot).

Hey Sebs,
Could you explain to me how to change and make the tattoos and what not on the Daz characters?
You need to create/edit the textures using photoshop or paintshop pro (or I guess a similar program). Basicially open the program and open a decent body texture for whatever character you want the tattoos on. You'll find them in the runtime/textures folder under DAZ characters or DAZ people, just click through the subfolders. Save it as something else (e.g. tattoobody1 or something) so you don't overwrite the original. Then, I usually do an image search on google for lets say you want a tiger tattoo. Search for that and try to find a pic on a white or black bg (they're the easiest to blend into textures). Copy and paste the pic as a new layer on your body texture, then resize or rotate it (if needed) so it suits and then change the opacity to "darken" for a pic on a white bg or "screen" for one on a black bg (usually). Save the texture again, then go into the "materials" section of Poser or whatever the alternative method is for DAZ Studio and just change the body texture to tattoobody1 (or whatever you saved it as). Render and viola, the tat should appear.
If I knew of a decent tutorial, I'd link it.

Just something fairly quick, I rendered a bodyshot of the headshot I made yesterday... more practice concentrating on poses, although looks like I messed up on the shorts a little... bah.

This is a sweet render and if like Adam suggested the pictures are increased in size to show body muscle i wouldn't be suprised if this pic found its way in. In fact knowing the quality of the renderers in this thread i wouldnt be suprised if alot of MMA type pics find their way in. That is unless Adam already has pics set up...which i doubt but you never know.

Good stuff J Silver and nice posing SB, facial expression is nice and intense. Are those the popstar pants you've used? My platinum membership at DAZ runs out soonish and I was wondering whether to stump up the $1.99 for them.

No, I don't have any pictures set up yet, we don't even know what size or format they will be (we're currently experimenting with the idea of using GIF format, so that the blank background will allow the images to be superimposed over various different backgrounds via the code).
That said, I do think sebplex's character looked very good, and that is the sort of model I have in mind for the final game. Given the quality of renders being done in this thread, I think it's almost certain that I'll be inviting at least 2 or 3 of you onto the team to be the official artists for the WMMA game world - so if you guys do make any more MMA fighter renders, it would probably be a smart move to keep a copy of the file somewhere, so that it'll be easy to transfer them to the dimensions and format that WMMA will use when that gets decided, rather than having to re-make them.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier, if any of the artists do decide to do some MMA guys with an eye to having them in the WMMA universe, make sure not to use real sponsors on their clothing. sebsplex had the right idea in having "WMMA" on the shorts, as clearly that's acceptable, but any non-trademarked words would be equally good.

I like the sound of that, hopefully it proves successful as it'd really give an added fightcard-style feel to things.

Yeah, I suspected as much before plastering Pepsi logos or whatnot all over the texture. Seeing as the shorts are often the only way besides gloves/taping to distinguish the fighters attirewise, it could be an idea to create a few fictional sponsors as well as establishing basic character details (name, country of origin, etc) ahead of creating a render so they can be worked into a shorts texture.
One more MMA bodyshot for now seeing as I remember making this basic figure for a request on here and thought I'd render him up fully...

I just figured I would reiterate my request from a few pages ago, just in case it got buried and no one saw it. If no one has enough free time to do it, it's no biggie, but it would be great is someone could tackle full-body renders of Toshiharu Hyobanshi & Hiroyasu Gakusha. Again, if it isn't feasible, no worries...

sebsplex, however on the first render you do have Pride written across his stomach.
If I can make a suggestion, the "gloves" you have on the guy seem more like a biker type glove or something similar, not a MMA glove. In a lot of promo shots they don't wear gloves so if it is impossible to emulate the MMA gloves it may be better to go with just bare hands, and it may look better.
PeterHilton

Well, "pride" doesn't necessarily have to mean the name of the MMA group.
And I was going to say the gloves weren't that big a deal, but now that you mentioned it, it's impossible not to notice.

Yeah, it's pride as in the word pride, not the company and it's not taken from one of their logos or anything, so it's not really an issue.
Fair point on the gloves, since I haven't done much extensive research on the subject I don't know if there are any real variations outside of the ones used in UFC, but as these are just practice renders more than anything and indeed, I'm just using biker style gloves for now. It shouldn't be impossible to modify them if needed either via post work or a transmap, as I mentioned before, all the figures are saved so I can always attempt it.

Alright, I've done a re-render with an attempt at emulating MMA style gloves seeing as there's no other prop that comes closer for me to use. Basically, I stuck with the biker style glove and increased the scale a bit to represent padding, then used some wrestling tape, fiddled with the transpancy, eliminated a few sections and then repositioned it up the arm to make it seem connected to the resized glove. A little postwork later to eliminate the gaps exposing the top knuckles and that's about as close as I can get. It is possible to eliminate another section of the taping if that goes too far down the wrist, I couldn't make up my mind if it were short enough or not. They'd probably look better in black, but since I'd already hit the render button I couldn't be bothered to go back, change that and the render all over again.

Great job to all the guys making renders. I am currently having a problem making a "Texture". I am not sure if I am following the instructions you guys gave me awhile back but I am having trouble making them. I have Adobe CS2 and am having trouble finding a texture to make something like SEBS has with the tattoos. Any tips would be great. Also is anyone has some textures that they have made that is willing to pass them along as I dont belive that is a violation of the terms it would be helpful or let me know where to get them. Also I am looking to make some Fighters from Mexico and Brazil but can not figure out how to change skin colors. Any and all tips and solution to me panzy problems would be great.

Allright here's my attempt. Hopefully I got the age right. Getting a figure to look like she's in her early to mid fourties can be harder than it sounds (especially when most of my renders look like early twenties :P ).

I was just bringing it up, because in MMA as soon as someone sees Pride written somewhere that will be the first thing mentioned. It's the equivalent to using an equally noticeable word in the wrestling realm.

Okay, I have kinda of an intresting request for anyone who is up for redoing some real life talent. What I need is.....
Randy Orton - Normal Orton Pose facing the left
Edge - Normal Orton Pose facing the right
Shane Douglas - In a suit
If possible...could the Orton and Edge pictures be put in sleeveless black shirts, with Franchise Players written on it.
I know this is a bit to ask, but there are a few reasons.
1) This is the current group I am pushing in my C-Verse game. So, I would like images that go with C-Verse instead of real pictures.
2) This is also my group of e-wrestlers that I run my own stable with. They ressemble the real wrestlers, but once again, I don't like using real wrestler's pictures.

These MMA renders are looking pretty good the only diffrence i can really see between everyones attempts is that Sebplex seems to be able to get a much more MMA type of shorts on his renders. nothing wrong with any of the others but his look for MMA style.

Clarity, just a suggestion for your gloves. Fighters normally don't have matching gloves to their outfits. Their gloves are usually provided by whomever they work for because they have to be regulation. Normally just the comany's flat color or black. I know these are fictional, but just a thought.

I just think that sebsplex's guys look more like MMA fighters: thick necked, square jawed, pug faced, short cropped hair.
Clarity is making quality renders, but they're a little "pretty." Like male models dressing up as MMA fighters.

That could be it actually, never really thought about it that much because the shorts are what sticks out but it does make sense.

I've made a MMA Render Thread in the WMMA Mods forum to keep the TEW and MMA renders seperate.

Probably best not to use those sponsors, most don't really lend themselves to MMA.
Just when I'd made an awesome texture with T.H.R.U.S.H. plastered across the crotch... ;)
On the subject of the MMA clothing and styles, I imagine it will come down to how exactly Adam is intending the new game world to be presented. Whilst obviously, there will be a level of legitimacy to those used, there may also be a less realistic edge to some of the characters. For instance, given the fairly recent WWE/Pride stories of meetings that were doing the rounds there might be an organisation based on some sort of hybrid between the two with key workers being given "characters" with shots that include details not typically MMA. E.g. a fighter donning a trenchcoat, fighters wearing extras in promoshots (necklaces, piercings, hats etc) or matching shorts and gloves. I'm not pitching this as a good or bad idea, just making the point that the WMMA universe might not feature characters that are all plucked straight out of UFC.
Going along the same point, there may also be some compromises to be made. Like the gloves for instance. It might be decided that the no gloves route is better than the closest attempted alternatives. Then there's things like the variety of haristyles. Whilst I wouldn't partake in MMA with a mane of flowing blonde hair and on a brief scan of MMA related images I couldn't find anyone else opting for one, it might be preferable to save having however many renders with the same few poser hairstyles repeated with minor moderations each time. *shrugs* I'm going on a tangent here.
It looks better. I'll try to find some better promo shots from fighters that give a good shot of the gloves so that you could emulate them more. But I think that is a step up from the origanal.
Thanks for the pics, the first couple are better than I could find quickly last night. Although the scaling could be altered a bit more, there's a point where the glove would just no longer conform to the hand. To the same point, aside from lots of postwork I'm strugging to get much nearer the mark. As I just mentioned above, there might well need to be a call on what to compromise on.

Yeah, I wasn't sure how much could be changed from that, the UFC black ones look slimmer and smaller although they are the same weight (oz) as the PRIDE gloves. The remake you did wasn't bad.

Whatever figure you're using should come with some form of standard skin texture. If not, goto renderosity.com and head to the freestuff section to find a freebie one for that character as there are some for most of the main models.

Forgot to mention earlier. Whats the fee per render?
It varies depending on what's wanted, when it's wanted by, how much work is required and whether I'd need to buy anything extra in order to complete it. It's fairly small amounts thus far since I really just want a some extra money to justify buying new bits and pieces.

Wow..I hope that hasnt embittered the creative process here. I placed an order wth sebs, but that was for a whole batch of renders, and it wouldn't be fair to ask someone to do that much work for nothing.
Way back when in this thread, Clarity made a good description of what would be considered a courteous, reasonable request. If someone asks an artist to go above and beyond that, I don't think its unreasonable to be compensated.

Eh, I'd better post something so this doesn't all get taken out of context.
The only renders I charge for are people who either want bundles of stuff done or for people wanting e-fed posers or the like which often involve fullbody, headshot, promo/rp shots... normally on a fed background as well as black or white bg's, etc.
I contribute in the render thread because I enjoy rendering and want to help contribute to the GDS community and aid in improving peoples private games as well as adding to the CVerse in general (for any renders that Adam chooses to make use of). As far as I'm concerned other than perhaps for images in diaries/dynasties or a mod title screen or something, there is no real need for fullbody shots to be completed in regards to actually playing TEW. Sure they look cool and I know from prior to having the ability or software to create them myself, that it's awesome to have character of your own creation rendered in all their glory, but for TEW they're of little neccessity.
I mean, you pointed out yourself once in the thread about people having the cheek of requesting multiple renders (I think someone posted like a list wanting 20 real-life renders for their e-fed) that would be time consuming or of little fun/point to make. It's that sort of thing where if someone really wants that kind of work done, then in all the likelyhood the only way I'd justify spending that much time on renders for one person, that I personally wouldn't get much enjoyment out of doing and would take considerable time, would be to charge for it.
For example if someone came in and posted "I want a render of my character. He looks exactly like AJ Styles, except he has etc,etc on tights, a skull on his left elbow pad, these distinct tattoos, other patterns on his boots yadda." If anyone touched this exact request I'd be surprised, I know I probably wouldn't touch it and even if someone did, they might not do it exactly how the requester had in mind. Is anyone really going to sit there redoing a render like this to get it spot on as a matter of priority? If so, great, but personally I wouldn't justify spending that sort of time or the work involved on something like that.
People are free to post whatever descriptions they want in the render thread, although obviously the understanding is that those of us that volunteer to do renders, do so under no obligations. When I do a few requests I normally pick out ones that I''d enjoy/find challenging within reason to try or that I've got props for that I want to try out or older ones which don't require an immense amount of time, etc. As for bodyshots, again it's the same situation although good ones with lots of texture work take longer, so naturally will be done far less. It's not a case of just saying, if you want a render, then it'll cost you. I mean, I didn't post some MMA style images with the intention to try and charge Adam if he wanted to actually use any of them or wanted more, the same as I'm not going to stop doing a few requests or random renders for use in this thread to try and force people to pay for them.
Take screwus's post from the other page. The PM I sent him was basically to establish what his request actually is. I just didn't want to monopolise the thread with a convo over it or give the impression I'm trying to drum up business.
Also I guess I could add that any money I have received for Poser has basically all gone back into Poser (and then some!) in regards to buying more props, etc. So I'm not exactly rolling in dough from it.
Way back when in this thread, Clarity made a good description of what would be considered a courteous, reasonable request. If someone asks an artist to go above and beyond that, I don't think its unreasonable to be compensated.

Anyways, I took a couple minutes today to make a few originals.

I think michael is free if you go to the website www.daz3d.com
If you go to the preference and select directories, then poser content and add the poser directory it should allow you to use most of the stuff you have for poser.
Getting started
First off you pick the person in the figures tab, then hair (making sure you use fit to otherwise you have to use the x,y,z translations to move it)
Then go to poses which by default has most of the stuff you need in.
Its in there that the MATS (or textures) for most models are, and where the poses for each model sit.
Also head here and get this model if you want to have an awesome looking render to brag about

There is.. Use the scene tab to expand the model your using until it shows the part you want. ie.. thigh, arm then use the bend, twist and rotate parts..
