Hello everyone,

I have been around since the .400 boards but mainly I just read the forums to see what is new. I played the heck out of TEW 2004 and when 2005 came out I admit I did not play it as much. When 2007 was getting ready to be released, Adam’s Dev Journal got me pumped up to play. Although I enjoy playing what has really sparked my interest is the “moding” aspect of the game. I know there is a great deal of emphasis with putting out a real world mod and I admit that I like both real and the C-Verse.

If there is any interest what I would enjoy doing is putting together another mod like the C-verse but totally original. For lack of a better name I am calling it Mat Wars V1. It will be around the same size as the C-Verse but with a completely different setup. Before I head into it full steam I would like to first find out if there would be some interest in this project. Here are a few ideas as to how the game world would look.:)

United Kingdom- In this region of the world of wrestling is hot. There are four regions and what makes this area exciting is that there are four promotions that each have a strangle hold over a particular region. Imagine the Monday Night Wars but with four competing promotions. I have spent some time working in this area first so I also have the four promotions mapped out. All are heavy on Tradional and Mainstream product values, but each one is focusing on a particular niche or fan base. They will have other values as well but here is a brief idea of what they are about.

Midlands Wrestling Organization: Key Feature- None (Combination of the other three)
Extreme Grappler’s Dynasty: Key Feature-Modern (think TNA)
Pure Wrestling Federation: Key Feature-Pure (Pure/Mat based wrestling)
UK Championship Wrestling: Key Feature-Sports Entertainment (think WWE)

Europe- Still working on Europe but will provide info soon.

Japan- I haven’t fleshed out Japan as of yet but I imagine they may have a similar fed like that of EWF. See below.

USA- MMA has had a strong influence on the US market and as a result many wrestling promotions are struggling. To counter this many wrestling promotions have a MMA presence in the product they are offering to the fans with varying degrees. Listed below are a few promotions I have already started on.

East vs. West Federation or (EWF): This promotion is truly unique because it is just like the name implies, it is competition between the East (Japanese Wrestlers) vs. West (North American Wrestlers). It is primarily a Sports Entertainment fed with a strong heel/face divide that puts Japanese and American wrestlers against each other. The roster is generally setup with all the Japanese wrestlers as the heels and the American wrestlers playing the role of face, but this is not strictly enforced and wrestlers can turn to the other side. While the promotion plays up on nationalistic pride and displays Japanese vs. American themes it is viewed as a farce and not meant to be taken literally or should not be interrupted as mean spirited. It would be comparable to the real life nationalistic pride that is exchanged between Canada and the US, but on a lighter scale.

Severed Head Syndicate: This is your basic hard core fed. I liked the name, I found it catchy.

Prey Fighting Championships: If you are wondering, I did use Pride as a reference point when coming up with this fed. The name may need to be changed to make it more original, but for now this is what it will be called. It will have a heavy MMA influence.

Mexicano Supremo que Lucha: In the south west region of the US the Hispanic population has grown and become very affluent, prompting a need for a Lucha based promotion in the USA. Its popularity has gained attention from other markets and the MSL has grown into a force to be reckoned with. With the decline of traditional wrestling promotions folding due to MMA influenced ones, Lucha Libre wrestling is currently a hot commodity in the US.

There are more US feds to come, but this is what I currently have.

Mexico- There is a big lack of talent in Mexico currently due to the fact that most of the major stars have moved to the US to be with the bigger promotions. There will be a few feds in this region that I have yet to work on.

Canada- Canada is another region I have not started on as well but plan to have some interesting things happen there as well.

Well this is what I have so far. Let me know what you think and if you would be interested in having another original data set to play with. :)
