I don't know. Like I said, I think it's an unnusual busdriver role, or maybe the right word is creative. My theory is: That's an inventor, using his own invention. He works on it one day/night phase, then uses it the following. I won't know if that parts correct till next night phase. That should tell everyone. As far as how the device works, well, I would guess that the inventor picks two people... but I'm not sold on that after reading your post. Maybe it does randomly pick two people and switch them (either their targets, or the people targetting them, or maybe even both).

That's just my guess, but as I said, will be easier to figure some of that out after we see the laughing man in action again. I just hope he don't start writing "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"

The deaths do worry me, though obviously this game is only based on Suikoden that might be as close an analogue as we get. The actual methods of dying don't seem to be direct. Being "limp and empty" makes me wonder if the person doing the killing is doing MORE than just killing. I quickly leapt to some kind of soul stealing, but that's kinda influenced by Suikoden too and is probably a bit wrong.

"What are you talking about, kid?" He was not amused by this situation, at all. If this were any normal man he likely would not have a head at this time. Of course, he also knew this one wasn't alone. Beside him, a scrawnier, almost dorky kid stood, hands on his hips. Off in the distance was another who seemed to be making notes on a paper.

In an attempt to rush the answers from his target, the smaller man poked a finger at the larger man's chest, which managed to draw a smirk from the larger man. This smirk, and the over-eagerness to figure out this mystery were enough to make the smaller man bring his sword around.

A step back allowed his opponent to do the same, although with nowhere near the excitement this time. An arm clutched at his ribs as their eyes met. "Sure you want to do this?"

With a nod their swords met once, twice, and away went the sword of the man who started the whole mess. Defeated, he lowered his head and seemed to be about to pout.

"Fine. Fine. I'm not one of you. That doesn't mean I want you to lose this war. Happy now?"

In the distance, another couldn't help but laugh at the randomness that had just taken place.

Nothing to say about people asking you if you are the purple person in this scene? While Jman looks as scummy as ever, you don't usually just ignore things that are being pinned on you like that.

As a group we need to start talking. If we don't have info we want to share, we need to pressure people to share. It just reeks of Jman pushing pressure on anyone he can, and that either makes him scummy or a weak townie. Either way, pressuring him loses little for the town if things go wrong and gains us plenty if he's scum.

I'm off watching TNA PPV with the boys for the next several hours so I'm not gonna be on til late. Jman still looks like he's deliberately avoiding things since there were questions asked and there was pressure. The longer he drags it out the more he's going to need to reveal... and if he drags it out til phase end then it should be a lynch on principle. We gotta build up the town's info somewhere... which reminds me, the King should be contributing a little something. He has to know something about something by now between his Kingship powers and his mason group. I'd appreciate any assurances from him in that regard. :)

He brought up Cult at the beginning, and jumped with the idea of Astil as King, calling himself a "Loyal Servant" to our king, and hoping Astil remember's that no matter if he is cult or not. Might be nothing, but I can't shake the feeling he is here either to help the cult, or to help rid us of the cult.

At first, I just wanted to see what reaction you would entail from this, and it turns out to be something juicy after all. The least you could display is acknowledgement, which can do wonders in a mafia game. Just earlier, someone was slightly concerned at prague not even mentioning the possibility of himself being in the write-up, when in honesty there's a good chance there's nothing more he could have known from it except taking a guess that the character was indeed him. Acknowledgement and communication is a good part of the game.

Let's try to break down the parties we have here based on what we know now...


Day Zero

With the decision made, the meeting ended. Just in time to accomplish something before things would get much worse than expected. One after another, each man above a common soldier seemed to vanish into thin air.

"Fools. Almost made this too easy."

With his work done, he appeared before those he felt no need to fear. Adorned in the colors of his homeland, a white and gold trim robe covered his body entirely. He remained motionless and allowed those left to flee and spread word of his sight.

Here's the first mention of White and Gold Guy. Already we get the impression the is not a good thing.

Night Zero

Sniff.

He had spent days now in this spot. Able to look down upon the world from the forest he took shelter in. He could smell it even from this distance now, and it drug him to his feet. To the edge of the cliff, he stared down at the town touching the northern border connecting Nedokius and The Southern Lands.

"Something horrible is happening."

Hidden behind the mask he wore to conceal his identity, his eyes watched the army move into Border City. A lot of blood would be shed tonight.

"Finally."

He took a step out of the forest and leapt from the cliff, his shadow following after a few seconds.

"Fascinating."

Out of his hiding spot another stepped, much the opposite of the man who'd just left. This one wore a white and gold robe, with a hood draped down to cover his face. He clutched his staff in his right hand as he watched the other man land safely below. The tip of the staff took on a white glow for mere seconds before the man vanished into thin air.

There are two people here. The first seems to be an indy - serial killer perhaps? - that just revels in death and chaos.

The second is a White and Gold Guy. Is it the same White and Gold Guy as in the previous post, or is it another one? This specific one seems to be a magician, which might explain why WGG's kills don't seem to involve weapons. But the question still remains - one or two? And what's the significance of the color of his/their livery?

"HELP ME!"

Screaming was useless. They had all been caught defenseless. It took little effort for the Nedokius army to surround Border City and close in. Bodies littered the streets and she tried her hardest to keep moving as she hopped each body in her path.

She rounded a corner and saw hope ahead. Beyond enemy lines, he rode towards town as fast as his horse could bring him. All she had to do was manage to get to him and she would be safe from this massacre. Her arms extended, reaching out as far as she could so that she could be swept up easily.

Until she was met by a huge hammer crushing into her midsection. With a groan, she fell to the ground, arms clutching at what could easily be broken ribs. Her eyes moved past her attacker, to her hero. She pleaded with him to hurry and watched as he fought to get all the speed his mount could muster.

It wouldn't be enough. She'd never even get a clear view of the hammer as it came crashing down, and smashed into her face at full force. The monster of a man swung the blood splattered hammer over his shoulder and turned to stare at the hero, an evil smirk on his face before making an escape.

mlt's death scene. Three characters here, from what I can read. mlt herself, our Hammer Guy that we saw in Night 1, and a 'hero' that is riding towards town.

Horrified, he sat by his office window staring out at his city. Fires raged from nearly every building. Blood stained what he would've thought to be peaceful streets only a year ago. Tears fell from his eyes as he realized that he was very likely the only person still alive in the city. It would only be a matter of time before they managed to make their way to him.

THUD.

He shook, not even turning to face the doorway that had just been the victim of a severe kick.

THUD.

This time the door made a cracking sound as it gave way to the assault. He held his arms out, refusing to turn and acknowledge his murderer face to face. Heavy footsteps crossed the floor of his office until they were close enough to send a chill down his spine. One swift blade swipe followed, and his body fell to the floor.

Arrpws' death scene. Really not much here, just the generic mafia kill and no other clear character hints.

"Master, wait!"

He fought to catch air as he held an arm up, his body hunched over in a desperate attempt to regain composure.

"We must keep going. Something horrible is happening."

He turned to face his servant and let out a slight laugh as he saw him hunched. He made his way back, gave him a pat on the back and nudged him to look just up the road to a horizon of flames from the burning Border City.

"We have to find out what's going on and try to help anyone who may be left. Some might be useful."

He ran off, leaving his servant to catch up once more.

"Some might be useful?" That sounds cultie to me. So there are two characters here - 'Cultie leader' and '(out-of shape) cultie servant'. (To Anti's point, without something pointing to recruitment, cultie is somewhat speculative, but until I have a better explanation for these two...)

So given that cast of characters...what makes sense?

"Hey, wait!" Despite the need to stop, his legs pushed on in effort to catch up to a man who barely bothered to get away. As he approached, he saw the man's hand already teasing with drawing his blade. Both men stopped and for a brief moment stared at each other before this conversation became a bad idea and both men turned to leave.

People love him. Anywhere and everywhere he goes, people chant his name from the rooftops as they gather to try and get a glimpse of the man. This territory is no different from any of the others neighboring it.

A legend in the Southern Lands tells that he is as old as time itself, and that since the start he has been there for every major war defending the lands in which he was born. Far before these lands had the names they do now. Once again in a time of war he has appeared, seemingly from nowhere, ready to take care of anything that needs to be taken care of to save his home.

He is, in every meaning of the word, a hero. Even kings bow to this man when he walks into a room. Which would be why what happened next came as such surprise. He stumbled back, shocked as the blade plunged from the darkness of an alley. One glimpse at the attacker changed the hero's expression and he stumbled forward, into the darkness.

Well.

He was a hero.

Does this map to the 'hero' mlt was trying to get to in the opening death scene?

My night ability and victory condition involves searching for something, like an item, person, or faction.

Dont make fun of me for spelling, back on my iphone.

Until recently my guy was a happy guy, but an unspecified tragedy cost him everything he had, resulting in his current positon, status, occupation etc.

Sorry I cant reveal something beyond fluff but really, its d1. i gotta keep the juicy stuff for when the king race really gets heated.

These all trigger feelings of uneasyness to me, except the fact that he willingly donated all of this. Now, I wouldn't think he would do this if he was a possible threat (which I'm heavily leaning on because of the prior post I quoted above), but it would also make someone that was looking for him take notice to help him join said group/item/faction.

He did say he could do this part of his win condition night 1.

/nod, I am thinking survivor role the most. I just can't shake off that other post he made "and even if you are cult, I hope you remember..." Reminds me of that moocher guy in some movies that always sucks up to whomever seems to be in power "It's been a rough day for you, Let me get that for you.."

The attacked wouldn't know it, but the robed man smiled. He knew this one was smart. He understood the power he was up against. This could have very easily been over without so much as a muscle moved. "I look forward to the day we get to have a true battle."

Okay, devil's advocate time. But I'm feeling drained, so don't expect an awesome counter-arguement.

1. Four kills is a lot. And I think they all had seperate killers. Would make sense that one of them was a result of townieness, as four scum kills a night would be silly.

2. Unlike some misguided Vigs, I think Jman can be trusted to keep his finger off the trigger. You hear me, J, you live, no killing because of a small, tiny hunch!

3. If he's alive at night, at some point scum will be forced to deal with him. Let them, it keeps another townie alive that night.

4. Jman came out and said "I killed Zeel!" He could've just as easily lied and said he did nothing, or something else. Ballsy move if he's scum, and I just don't see Jman pulling the reverse psychology bluff here. Ain't his style.

I'm inclined to believe Jman. He made a mistake, but fessed up to it. I think he can be trusted to keep himself in check from here on out, and I'd much rather have a no lynch than mislynch the vig just because he screwed up once, and then watch as the scum cheer in their forums after the game.

The only risk here is the potential for misdirections (or claiming them as a means to cover his own killings). Course, often those only work if the targets actively chooses to go out at night (like in Family Guy). If he doesn't, and he's a good boy and keeps his arse indoors, that isn't a worry.

So yes I brought Gonvick back from the dead with my Yell. Really I had four good options to bring back and I had narrowed it down between The Two and Gonvick.

I will tell you why, when I see Gonvick in a game I hope that we are on the same team. I know if I am scum and see Gonvick in a game, well I have to be very careful. And I guess whomever offed him felt the same way.

In the heat of everything that had been happening, no one noticed the other battle that had begun. Let's join that one, and see how it's going. Far more serious, two seasoned warriors met blades. A masked man in all black used every cheap trick he could think of to try and gain the advantage in a battle he didn't expect to be anywhere near as difficult.

A foolish mortal, managing to keep up with him. There's no way that could be entirely true. Alas, it seems almost as if this man has even gotten the upper hand. He was forced to move back to avoid the blade of his foe, and eventually backed himself into a corner.

Determined not to allow the masked man a path through, the swordsman fought with everything he had. This was the battle he had been waiting for. He could finally serve his country and enjoy the taste of battle once again. This duty would be his undoing though, as he trapped his foe and raised his blade, completely unaware of the truth.

"Walked right into it."

Off of the wall the masked man's shadow stepped. Trapped between the two, the man swung his blade, unable to make contact before he felt both blades rip through his chest.

Unless I've botched my interpretation of the write up, Jman is claiming this killer. That's not even vaguely vig looking, that looks downright evil! :eek:

With everyone busy arguing amongst themselves about the actions of previous nights, one man walked off to do his own thing. Maybe he couldn't do a lot to shine some light on everything that had been going on, but he would do what he could to help.

He had a feeling this was the right thing to do. If anyone could help them it would surely be this one. How could this possibly go wrong? In the pit of his stomach it built as he found his target luckily still mostly in one piece.

Suddenly, a strange green light scorched the ground around the man in an odd symbol before lighting up the sky. He let out a roar louder than even he knew possible and collapsed to his knees right after.

He wouldn't even lift his head to look until he felt a hand touch his shoulder.

He's 3 votes shy of being lynched. Those could easily be picked up fast. Leaving your vote on someone who is close to being lynched implies you're okay with it happening at any time.

You could remove your vote to try to give more time to look at other options. Your decision not to implies that you don't think that's a better choice.
