My brother has recently got really into it, and bought all of the boxsets. To be honest, I can't really say that I've been able to get into it enough to make myself a regular watcher.

I have all the box sets too.

Great stuff, I'll admit though I wasn't an instant fan. It took quite awhile to get me into it, but once I did I was hooked.

Really good show. Really funny. It has moments that are just hysterical.

I'm still a bigger fan of animated shows like South Park and Boondocks that use their pop culture references to make a point, but I do like Family Guy.

Family Guy is just something to watch when you what a laugh a minute rather than a comedy with a story, i got series 1,2,4,5 and watch them regularly (to a point) altho im still a bigger fan of Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

EDIT: My fav part of all time is when Bryan asks Stewie "Other Employees ? Who else works here besides me" and Stewie replies "**** You thats who works here"

It's unbelievably funny sometimes. I just think they have absolutely nailed the comedy style which is just there for laughs, and nothing else. I can't think of many shows that make me laugh as much as this one. I prefer some others, but very few, if any make me laugh so much.

I could literally list about 100 bits off the top of my head that have made me laugh in it. I couldn't say that for many programmes. Top, top comedy.

I love family guy. I own all the DVD's

A mate of mine got me into it a few years back. They were showing the episode where death goes on a date at the end and the girl bores him so he just touches her on the arm and she dies.

We laughed for about half hour after seeing that and i was hooked ever since

I have so many favourite moments;

- the Bin Laden/Naked Gun start to Series Five
- the Discovery channel programme on Firetrucks ("the ambulances will have to wait their turn")
- Peter trying to think of a fake name in the rehab clinic, and sees a pea, a girl crying (hence a tear), then a Griffin flies accross the room
- Stewie's appearance at Woodstock ("Establishment, establishment, you always know what's best")
- the Back To The Future ("I haven't seen anyone misjudge something this bad since Doc Brown came back from the future")
- the Chicken fights
- the recruitment video for news interns ("Channel Five will not me held responsible for anyone burned, impaled or molested during internship")
- the ending to the one where Joe enters the Special Olympics ("I guess you'll have some competition at next years games then!" "Nope, he's dead."
- when Cleveland tries to attack Quagmire in his house and everything turns into a bed
- Stewie assaulting Brian when he's trying to get money from him

*note to self* Okay... stop... you've already said too many...

It's just so many bits make me laugh!

My top fav moments are the Willy Wonka one where peter hits his shin and sits on the ground holding his shin doing a slow in breath followed by ah and it drags on then later he gets hit in the shin again and starts doing the same thing. lol

When Stewie and Brian go somewheres (i think maybe to find that kids show?) but they are on the way home and they are hitchhiking in a truck with illegal immigrants and Brian is trying to talk in I think Spanish and he can't get the words right and the one immigrant corrects his pronunciation and Brian says something along the lines of

Brian: "Oh thank god you can speak English"
Immigrant: Actually no, I just know that one line and this one explaining it
Brian: You're kidding me right
Immigrant: *in Spanish* What?

The Quagmire one where he goes.

*You see a women on screen* "Now thats a Women!" Shot changes and you see a guy holding flash cards flipping them "Thats a bird, thats a fish, thats a bee!!" Or something along those lines.

And the number one moment is from the "Kool-aid episode" when Peter is on trial and he's found guilty every in the court room goes "Oh No!, Oh No!, Oh No!, Oh No!" then the Kool-Aid guy busts through the wall and goes "OH YEAH!!"....then every silently stares at him and he slowly backs out of the hole in the wall.

...And next, our special documentary on the cl!toris. Nature's rubix cube.

....Hi honey, I'm going to be late tonight, I'm getting a hooker

....I come bearing gifts, it's in my diaper, and it's not a toaster!

A cut scene with Quagmire in bed with some chick, clearly finished what they were doing

Glenn honey, I have a question for you, what do you for a living?

Well, I have a question for you, what are you still doing here?

....

....Lois, a boat's a boat, but this is the mystery box. It could be anything. Even a boat. You know how we've always wanted one of those. We'll take the mystery box...

...Lois, when have we ever had trouble communicating?
Peter, I love you
....Uh, about quarter to five

...How old are you?
Old enough to know you're a whore

Quagmire with a stripper

...Oh, damn, i've run out of cash, do you take credit?

A huh..

Swipes the card up her crack :)

...Party of Five? Oh, is that like a porno?

...Uh, uh, waiter? Waiter? Yeah, that sign on the bathroom wall about washing your hands, that's only for staff right?
...Technically....yes

We start the auctioning, first item a pair of panties we took off a prostitute
Quag: $50
She had nine STDs
Quag: $40
And when we caught her, she wet herself
Quag: $50

When they were talking about chicks and whose hot

Quagmire: Taylor Hanson
Joe: Taylor Hanson's a guy
Quagmire: Oh you guys are yanking me, put one over poor old Quagmire
Peter: No really, he's a guy
Quagmire: Oh..oh...this is insane! I got..got all these magazines.. Oh god OH GOD

...The usual, roofie calada for the date?

Stewie: Now fess up, or I'll do to you what I did to John Lennon....
...John, Yoko, Yoko, John

Stewie: I have ways of getting the information out of Frog. (Pulls out Miss Piggie)... Mmmm.... Mmmm... Yes you like that. OH GOD! I'm making love to a pig. I feel like my father.

Or the funniest bit ever, where they're in a police surveillance van listening to Lois with her old high school boyfriend.

Joe: Peter, watch this...
The van arrests him
Cleveland: Let me try that..
Joe: Cleveland...NOOOOO
Drops down the hands with baseball bats, smacks him to the ground, plants a gun on him...
Then the radar keeps going
Joe: Yeah, you can pick up anything... let me tune it in

Damn, this itches! I wonder who I gave it to me. Probably that skank who needed a ride to the gas station. Last time I do somebody a favor. Oh God! They must have heard me! Oh god! I can hear me! Ba, na na na na na na na na na, na na, ba ba ba ba!

Isn't that like a contradiction?

South Park is just stupid, while Simpsons is even worse now.

Family Guy is excellent. It is funny, and you have to have an understanding of some things to understand some of their jokes.

South Park is easily the most socially relevant comedy on TV. Every single episode deals with some sort of news story or social dillemma. Even if you don't like it, not sure how you could call it 'stupid.' Especially since Family Guy is just one pointless pop reference after another.

Simpsons, however, is a shell of how good it used to be.

Yes Benny Hill is the end all be all of funny!
(this is a joke, the british version of the office kicks butt, and many others are funny too)

And ummmmmmmmmmmmm Both South Park and Simpsons are american shows...........

I would also agree to the fact that the simpsons were funny, but are now just overkill.

Exactly. South Park is greatness, and completely relevant. Family Guy never really has a plot and is just a bunch of randomness thrown together. The South Park episode about family guy hit it right on the nose - what with the Family Guy writing staff being Manitees who randomly pick three balls with words on them and that's how the jokes are put together.

The Simpsons should have ended a decade ago.
