View Full Version : Sponsors

Here's another idea I just came up with.
What if you have the ability to choose who sponsors you for X amount of months (much like the old EWR game) but instead of just picking a said sponsor and going with it you have certain critera you have to meet for each sponsor and failing to meet that criteria would not only lose the sponsorship but also hurt the companies prestige.
A couple of examples:
1) Say your company is Cornell Cola. Well they could say we'll give you 5,000 a month as long as you sell at least X amount of Cola's at each event.
2) Adam Ryland programming offers you 10,000 a month as long as you keep your overness in the US about X percentage to ensure maximum exposure of his product.
Anyways those are a couple of examples I'm sure you guys can think of a ton more.

Sounds good. I want some Cornell Cola.

Another good idea

I think sponsors will be a big part of the game, since I am not sure you'll make much money without them. So it's interesting to speculate what their influence will be and how they'll be implemented.

You could also add into another element and say...
X Money - For a main mat sponorship package (shown on the mats of the ring)
X Money - For a product/logo advertisment on tv (like seen on Raw with Skittles, etc)
And whatnot. It could add another element of detail in the sponors area especially as you can choose your own prices and what you want depending on your company is and how you want it. Total control really.

as long as they're handled better than they were in EWR/TEW, they were the single most forgotten subject among players and if you missed setting them up during the first day it could really hurt you for the rest of the game.
If WMMA has an "Extreme Eye" like function that could help with it, it'd also be nice (and more realistic) if the default companies actually started with the sponsors they already have (sort of like how they start with their default rosters).

Sorry Io dont know how to link one thread to another but I just saw the other sponsor idea and wanted to bring back up the topics mentioned here.

My apologies. I glanced at the first page, didn't realize a sponsor thread was already buried.
And I felt clever too :(
I'll link my thead to this one.
(Moved from other thread)
Way back in Extreme Warfare Revenge your fed was able to pick sponsors from an available pool, and similar to PPV/TV networks the sponsors would agree/reject based on your size, style, and quality of matches.
I think it'd be great to re-introduce sponsors, and that could add a whole new level of keeping your fans and sponsor happy. The biggest sponsors might not like brutal, bloody fights, while your fans hunger for buckets of it. Heck, if you really want depth some fans could be turned off/on by certain sponsors
Ex. Fluffy Teddy Bear Company presents....
Deathmetal Inc. presents.....
It'd be a nice touch as opposed to having a generic "sponsor" row in your finance ledger.

I think the sponsor feature should definitely make a comeback, as from what I've read in the FAQ this game will be much more finance-driven than TEW. I think for a sense of realism, working to try and get sponsors would be a great added feature.
