In every game that there is not just TEW but every sports simulator that I know of atlease you can check the stats of anyone around the world and know if they are a B- or D but how would someone just know? Maybe you should have to send a scout to watch the fighter, or his trainer can send you an text message telling you that he has this fighter who has amazing skills. Sometimes the scouts could be wrong or the trainers could be lying, after he fights a few fights with you, more stats would be available for you to see and use to your advantage.

I think it would be a good feature. Certainly I think each big camp should recommend fighters to other orgs.

Some people might argue that scouting fighters by sending people to watch and report on smaller shows would be an overwhelming amount of information (tons of fighters and tons of shows), but if you think about it each org only really takes fighters that were success in the tier directly below them, at their level, or who were less successfull in bigger promotions. UFC isn't signing fighters that only fought on Indian reservations for $20 (well, maybe some of the TUF fighters), they scout the KOTC's of the world. So maybe you could send scouts to watch a certain event or all the events a promotion puts on and report the standout fighters.

Unlike in TEW I don't think it's a great idea (from a realism standpoint) to have just a huge list of fighters from all around the world and their skills laid out for you. Like you said, the stats of fighters that aren't regulars on the big-shows should be "discovered," with only their records and training camp being the guaranteed amount of information you have (since that stuff is readily available online). This also connects to your idea of the scouts not being entirely accurate because a fighter might look like a ground-fighting wiz or knockout-artist at the lower-levels (thus looking like an A-level fighter), but becomes exposed once you bring him in to fight higher-level fighters.

I think this is a great idea, and something that would be awesome in TEW. Scouts in WMMA would just add to the realism.

i like the idea, but id also like to know what determines what a fighter wants to get paid. when you offer someone a contract, if its based on skills, and you cant see those skills, then its a gamble to sign anyone.

if its based on name reconition(i think it should be) then i dont really see any drawbacks to your idea.

I think it would be based on that, just like in TEW. Because it's even harder in WMMA for the fighter to know their actual skill set.

As in boxing or real life mma it shoudl be based on the ability to draw(popularity) and ability to entertain the crowd. A Boring fighter with 100 in all his stats may not get a big salary till he builds up a big win streak to create that interest in him that his personality isnt able to bring.
