it would be nice to have matches that wouldnt count on a fighters record, but could be used to evaluate or develop fighters without their records being effected

Outside of TUF are these at all common? It seems like a strange thing to do since if you're fighting at a decent level the fans will still recognize it as a loss and if you're just fighting nobodies to get experience you might as well fight in the amateurs.

I do not know about that one. I cannot imagine how a fight which was shown in front of a live crowd can not be considered.

If you want to evaluate you can simply look at his stats. You get a pretty good idea how good he is or not. (this is assuming the stats will be shown).

If the stats will not be shown you can have the scouts have a look at him. (or trainers if he is training in one of your own camps).

Besides TUF the only one I can think of in recent memory was Rumina Sato v Hayato Sakuri in SHOOTO.

theyre not that uncommon in MMA, kimbo mercer is gonna be an exhibition
