Ever wonder what would happen if the Terminator was pitted against Predator? How about Spider-Man vs Michael Myers? The Crow vs John McClane?

Well now you can! I've begun working on my mod for WMMA. This mod will include characters from film, television, comics, and books. I have the comic character list done, and I'm starting the movie one. However, since I'm only one guy, I need opinions on who I should to put into the mod. I'll be updating as I finish lists and images. Also, I'll be making the 3-D images myself, I'm not using photos.

This is quite an ambitious task if you're going to create renders for all those characters on your list, and still with more to come. But if they all come out at the same quality as the ones in the banner though then i'm sure they'll be good!

I really like this idea. In TEW I would make stables of some of favorite comic-book/cartoon characters. I had The Jokerz (from Batman Beyond), the Mortal Kombat guys, the Royal Flush Gang (from Batman), all those offspring of Carnage (from Spiderman), the Weapon X team (X-men), etc.

I think he should be OK tbh, i never took to much flack from people about the stats in the sci-fi mod. At the end of the day it really is about opinion! As long as you dont have pee wee herman with better strength then superman its all good!

On a side note, all the movie characters are done. I'm onto TV. Due to me already having over 350 fighters, I'm ditching the book fighters. Also, is there any comic fans on here? If there is, I'll post a list of various character incarnations for you guys to choose which one you want.

Here's my first finished Render! He's Absorbing Man, an Incredible Hulk villain. I must ask..please, if you view this, leave some comments on him. Even if you don't know who he is, lemme know how it looks and if I can fix anything I may have overlooked.

BTW, his one arm is big and green because the pic I went off of is when he began absorbing the Hulk's power through his arm.

Small notes: His head could be a little longer/pointier and he could be a little bigger (in terms of raw size, not necessarily muscle - but maybe not, as you have several other characters that should look huge compared to him, so it might be a good size). Of course, it would also be cool to see a ball and chain, but that seems like a hard prop to come by. Also, I tend to think of him transforming into bricks or rocks of some sort, but the hulk effect is cool as well.

Overall though, he looks great. I saw the render and the green arm and immediately knew who it was, even before reading the text.

When working with Panix on his mod, me and Deadman didn't really get too much problems at all with the stats. I think the worse we got hit for was things such as comedy/heel/face etc. more then anything.

There were some very observant people that did find a few things, but I think they were all easily "fixed" (Can ask Panix, I think he did the fixing by himself).

The first one looks more like that could be fur/hair or scales, on him then the second one. The second one looks like he's got bands of flesh around him or something. I think the first one is the way to go.

They both are him for sure though.

Looks good, the first one looks more scaley so it goes well with the amphibious look about him. The second one looks like he's been run over by a truck. :D

I'd go with the first version as well - it kind of fits the classic look for him.

I've seen artists incorporate the sort of ridge structure when drawing him before, but I think the scaly look is what I think of when I think of typical looks for Abomination.

My personal favorite by far. Had to make due with the wings, they're the only ones I have for poser that were small enough. How is he?

BTW: I'd like to point out that his face is in fact a 3-D model, and not a photo. I used a new head technique and it ended up looking pretty realistic.

The only thing is, the face kind of sticks out more because of color's I think, moreso then it being so realistic to the rest of it. The skin on the body isn't matching up.

Alternate idea... Perhaps put on some clothes, he did wear them in allot of the comics.

Another idea... Use photoshop or some program to copy the colors from the face, and replace them into the body (or vice versa). I think that's possible... It doesn't change the texture, just the colors used.

I don't have allot of experience with photoshop or exactly the know how to do it, but I see a ton of people that use it all the time, so.

Anyways, I think it looks great, and probably won't even be that noticeable after completion.

I think the wings, body, and face are great separately. There is something weird about the transition from the face to the body - maybe djfunk is right about the colors? Or maybe the head is a little too big? Not sure, to be honest.

Regardless - it's a great render. Once again, it has that undeniable "oh, that's Angel" impact when you open the thread.

Alrighty, here's a new one. It's my take on Beast. All you pretty much have to know is that he is a blue animal/human hybrid mutant. Mane looks bleh, but on the WMMA backgrounds it should look good.

Beast from the X-Men.... Aye, you probably would come out better molding after a human model, with a beast type texture. Play with the textures a little bit (saving them as a seperate file first).

The Angel one, I think the shadows might be a bit off... What I think it might be is that the head texture has shadows already in it.. IF your using a program to texture (and possibly morph) the head, I would check and see if it has a duplicate left to right or right to left (whichever is the brightest side) for the texture (and possibly the morph as well).

This is all trivial stuff though, to be honest. The mod get's made, and the pic's can be developed over time. I know you want to have great pics.

I see what your saying about Angel's face, I'll see what I can do. As for the taking comic pictures and using them for now until I get more time to make 3D pictures, I actually enjoy maing them and they take me less than an hour. It's the fight records that are taking me a while. Not a bad idea though, I may do that.

Yeah, I made a new render with a smaller nose. I'm just too lazy ATM to upload it. Looks much better.

For my main rendering I use Poser 7.0 and Apollo Maximus (the best 3D figure out there).

And he's free too. The only problem I have is lack of clothing, the way I want clothing I guess. He's a good one to use for sure.

For other's that might be reading this.. You can use him in earlier versions of Poser as well. He was made to be as versatile as you can get (so far). Imagine a figure that can go from midget sized to Hulk sized, and all in one figure (Can go from skinny to massively ripped). At one point they were going to make female morphs as well, but I haven't seen anything worthwhile on that yet.

I have a lack of textures and stuff for him though.

EDIT: Textures for him I'm lacking as well. I only have a few, and some I've made myself.

While I think that the Angel render is good - I'm excited to see the updated version.

Regarding the Beast, I guess my only issue is that I tend to think of this image a bit more:

If you're going off the other image, then, well, I think the render is pretty good. The mane might be a bit overdone, but still, for a colorful and unique character like the beast, I'd say you're good to go.

Thanks d_d_w. I made an improved Beast..just too lazy to upload him. Newest one is Black Bolt. Somewhat half-assed him, but I still think it looks good. Went for a more slender look and tried to have a majestic expression..but he sorta came out looking expressionless haha. I might have to redo that.

Did you make a texture for him, or use another program?

I'm guessing you used another program to "paint/change" the colors. I would recommend using the same program and blurring the black, and the stripes, seperately(To keep them both in the lines so to speak), as you can see his skin bump coming through the suit (Looks like an almost see thru suit).

The funny thing is, I make the renders in under an hour..it takes me about 2 hours to make up their fight records. If anyone would like to help with that, drop me a PM. All you have to do is read a bio on them and make a fight record from it.

Need some opinions with strength ratings..

Superman will clock in at 100, Terminator in the 70's, Rocky at like 50, and Peter Griffin at 20. This scale sound about right?


Edit: One more thing. Since I finally found the images I was looking for, there will be a lot *cough* over 150 *cough* Dragon Ball characters. I know that's excessive, but I've been a huge fan of it since the 90's. You can always delete them out yourself.

Also, some rating may seem odd. An example is Black Bolt. He has super strength, but nothing amazing. Yet his rating will be close to a hundred due to his super sonic voice that could level a city. Same with any people with guns. Their strength rating will be a 65 (45 is a human norm) because of their firearms.

Entirely up to you what you decide to do. You could create characters for Panix's mod and then move all the characters into your own database once you've finished them all? I think you'd find it less disheartening that way.

It's difficult for me to say about the Hall of Fame because i'm not familiar with comic book characters outside of the really famous ones like Batman, Superman, Spiderman, X-Men etc.

Batman, Spiderman, Superman, and all the other guys with potential to be huge in the game should be nominated. You don't have to include everyone for nomination though, if a character in the game becomes so good he'll become a nominee for the Hall of Fame anyway.

I suppose it's easiest to look at it in wrestling terms. John Cena is likely to be nominated for the Hall of Fame in the future even though he's not of the same status as people like Hogan or Dusty Rhodes yet. Other people that have the potential to be huge superstars like Jeff/Matt Hardy are also likely to be nominated in the future unless their careers take a huge turn for the worst. Other people like shelton Benjamin have the skill to be huge but alwayas lack that little something that sets a spark off in the fans.

I'd look at it in two ways for Hall of Fame nominees. They'd have to have at least one of two things, but preferably both: Good skills or good popularity.

As for people outside of comic books, people who everyone should know (Predator, Freddy Krueger, Terminator etc.) and have a lasting effect long past their time should also probably be nominees for the Hall of Fame.

Yeah, I'm not dead or anything. Mod's done but there was something irking me that I couldn't put my finger on. As it turns out, it's the fighter pictures. Even when I cut them out perfectly once I saved them as a .gif the edges became choppy and looked kinda ugly in the game. So I'm doing a graphical overhaul. Here's an example.

Thanks for the concern. I checked it out when I made the first pic. The only time it overlaps text is when you do the optional side by side match up screen before a fight. I can live with it.
