Thanks for checking out my dynasty. I'm using Tap or Snap 4, with mostly default settings. I'm completely booking from scratch, starting in November of 2010 as the UFC. This is my first attempt at an MMA dynasty, so hopefully it is entertaining, and thanks again for reading!
Jackson Burt Named New U.F.C. President
White, Silva Step Back Amidst Gambling Allegations
November 2, 2010 | Henry Roach, @MMANewsBlast
In a move that was predicted by the experts, two top-level U.F.C. employees - President Dana White and Matchmaker Joe Silva held a press conference today announcing that while they would retain their positions with the fight organization, they would be stepping away from day-to-day operations effective immediately. Virtually unknown business executive Jackson Burt was named the new President, and was said to be handling most major decisions that will need to be made during this crisis. As a life-long friend to the Fertitta brothers and long time M.M.A. enthusiast, Burt jumps into the deep end of the industry pool, with nothing left to do but sink or swim.
The problems began when Dana White and Joe Silva were proven to have placed wagers on at least one U.F.C. event in early 2010. Surveillance video was retrieved, and footage of a staggering Dana White placing a bet at a sports book betting window emerged - complete with video proof of Joe Silva "making it rain" hundred dollar bills on the woman working the counter. Charges of inappropriate behavior have been filed, and legal troubles are possibly on the horizon for the U.F.C. executives.
White, when asked about the incident, only had this to say: "Dude. We were s%!t-canned. I mean, come on, I bet on Mostapha Al-Turk. That's my defense, right there."
Back at the U.F.C. headquarters, Jackson Burt will try to pick up the pieces. An announcement had already been made for UFC 122, which will take place on November 20 at the MGM Grand Gardens in Las Vegas, NV, and the show will go on, as planned. The Main Event will feature the UFC Welterweight Championship on the line, when Georges St. Pierre takes on Josh Koscheck. With the rest of the card announced this morning, the U.F.C. will attempt to run business as usual. Can Burt pull it off? Let's hope so, the entire M.M.A. community will be watching.

St. Pierre Stops Koscheck in First to Retain Welterweight Title
Bader, Marquardt Also Victorious at UFC 122
November 21, 2010 | Dante Hicks, Fight-tyme.net
The U.F.C. Welterweight Title was on the line last night in Las Vegas, Nevada at UFC 122, and the crowd was treated to a devastating finish to the championship affair. Georges St. Pierre retained his title by using his top-level wrestling to put Koscheck on his back, and finish with a vicious barrage of elbows and punches at the 3:44 mark of the very first round. Koscheck was never able to mount any offense, and St. Pierre proved why he is arguably one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the game today.
In other main card fights, Ryan Bader imposed his will on Stephan Bonnar, ending up with a decision victory to move up the ranks towards a title shot. Nate Marquardt also earned a unanimous decision over Demian Maia, who loses his second in a row.
Clay Guida and Brendan Schaub were also victorious, rounding out a very solid card and closing the door on the most recent season of the hit series, The Ultimate Fighter, in which both St. Pierre and Koscheck were coaches.
The was a promise of a huge announcement from the U.F.C. at UFC 122, and they delivered. New President Jackson Burt made his debut on U.F.C. programming to let us in on some big things happening as far as coverage goes for the M.M.A. giant.
"We are very happy to announce that starting immediately, our UFC Live broadcasts will air in homes across the U.S. and Canada on the top sports network in the nation - ESPN!" Jackson Burt gleefully stated.
"We have also expanded the coverage of our popular Ultimate Fight Night events to include the great SKY network, bringing us to U.K. television for free! And in the biggest television news in company history, we will be broadcasting Ultimate Fight Night to millions of homes on network television, when we debut in prime time on ABC! So, get ready for a whole lot more U.F.C. action on your television in 2011!"
Truly huge news for the U.F.C., as this expands the company's exposure exponentially. With UFC 123 scheduled for December 18, we won't have to wait long to see more of the company that is clearly walking away with the prize. The real question: Is any other M.M.A. organization even close? At this point, 'no' seems like the smartest answer.
