I don't have a lot of experience with mods, but I have to say that I absolutely love the render work people have put in on this board. They are, for the most part, spectacular, but there are so many of them and it saddens me that not all of them will be implemented in the WMMA3. :(

So here's my idea, and it's a fairly simple one that I'm sure many have had before: WMMA3 Booster Packs. Monthly additions to the C-Verse database utilizing fan-made renders and bios in an effort to keep the gameplay fresh for those who prefer C-Verse gameplay. :D

When WMMA3 comes out, I'd like to get started immediately. There are basically two working parts to it, renders and stat/bio work, both of them entirely vital. For the sake of simplicity there will need to be one person that compiles the database, but I hope that everyone can contribute!

If you guys like the idea, I'd love feedback, or if something like this already exists feel free to give me a good smack in the head. ;)

From time to time people will add their own "booster" packs. It happened a bit at WMMA2's release but it's died down quite a bit since.

I'd prefer more complete board participation project, where every render would, ideally, get a name, background and stats unique to them, in general agreement by everyone on the board and with input from everyone (Especially the render makers).

Maybe make a topic where people post a render, a background (Not necessary but prefered), and stats (Or, just general proficiencies if nothing else), and that information will be taken into account in the next release. That way it's a booster pack by the people, for the people. Render creators will get first say in their render's attributes, naturally, but everyone should get involved.

There was an "official" booster pack released by Adam that added 12-ish new fighters to the database several months after WMMA2 came out. I don't know if he made the bios himself, or if it was left up to the renderer(s) and he just gave a final stamp of approval though.

Hmm, I see. That's interesting.

This sounds like a fantastic idea.

I'm happy to contribute any renders of mine that don't make the game and some more ones, too. :)

Excellent. :)

I'm wondering if it's feasible to create mods that can be introduced mid-game, as to not force players to reset there save in order to utilize the packs. I know one can download and use modded databases (Duh), and one can manually add new characters to a database mid-game, but is there anyway to combine these two concepts currently? Downloading mods for a database mid-game?

Anyways, I'll probably create a topic Sunday with all the specifics about how we should organize it, with open input from everyone of course. Hopefully we can get this rolling and keep it going, as there are few things more engaging for video games than effective fan made mods.

Always been a fan of the idea of booster packs. Kinda sorta planned to do one with my renders, back when I was releasing them into the wilds of the community, but quickly realized I can't stand doing stats or writing bios. You know, 'modding'. Whichever of my renders don't make it into the new WMMA, are available for this.

I think it would be great to introduce them mid-game, but this could definately be helped out once we see just how the Modding+ thing works. If it is possible to mass set debut dates forward a certain number of years it would be fantastic as it would allow people to adjust to fit where they are in their game.
