Why do they lock Quicksim

Just wondering why do they lock quicksim till you buy it.

like any demo, I'm guessing just to limit what you can access, they want you to be able see if you like the game but not give to much so you don't end up not buying it.

What I think is. People would use it for their diary and just keep doing it over and over again.
