The Tew community is pretty huge an devoted. I think if there was a TEW online version would be huge.
The biggest problem would be the limited databse and companies.
We have hundreads of players and only 10's of promotions and a few 1000 wrestlers.
I think some way around this is possible.
I also think the problem would be everyone would want to own the bigger promotions of course.
I think this can be solved by having a price tag to own an existing promotion with history and prestigue and overness.
Other players starting from 0, can start a new promotion with very low overness ect.
In the case of many players coming in, we could have computer generated wrestlers and staff appearing to cover the difference.
Either way, this will be huge and could be the next step to making TEW simply mainstream.
Plus this will be very different.
I think TEW2008, although will be improved cannot be really totally original to TEW07. The game has progressed allot, this is the next step.

Yeah it would be great fun and a true test of a persons skills. However I don't know how this would work

The game world would be persistant, at the server's launch the cornelverse to a certain date would be in place, after that years will pass and new workers would need to be generated much like TEW does now.
My Basic Proposal:
Player Starts with nothing and is simply a worker with no job.
Players can apply to be the booker of a currently AI held fed or a player owned fed.
Players could play as Road Agents making decisions on how to get the best out of a match they are assigned.
Players have a finance levels, they start with nothing and earn money working for a promotion.
Players can invest in promotions, buy shares and fight for control of promotions.
Game would still have to run in turns, possibly 1 day = 12 hours real time
A cool tangent could be that players run other world items such as Venues and TV Companies.

I would suggest scratching the promotions all together, far as "already made" promotions..... and instead, just have guidelines. Using the C-Verse, I would have promotions that a player could start, using the C-Verse promotions as a guideline, but nothing more.
Each player would start as a brand new fed, with a small amount of money, and maybe a crew of 5 dedicated all rounder's (people that can do anything, but nothing great). These people would not be able to be taken from you.
Then just have a world full of the C-Verse people to get started, with the AI making more and more as time goes on. Everytime a new promotion is made (A new player comes into the game), there would be "X" amount of worker's generated to keep the game balanced out.
Far as days, etc... I wouldn't do it in real time (I mean, we aren't going around in the world looking at each other etc.. Still a text based game right?). I would just let each player play it their own way/style, in turns. Every ten minutes could be a turn *Or Day. I wouldn't even worry about making "Other TV" Shows for it.
The whole thing should be free, with a catch. The catch is, you have to buy the most recent game to play (Using a code). No monthly fee's, and... maybe have a once a month *Extra, costing $20. Meaning, perhaps you can raise the stat of one worker by 10% (any ONE stat, or a combination of 10 stats one point).
That's just a few idea's off the top of my head. I just read this, and thought I would add what I was thinking while reading before I forget, lol.

I'm not so sure a TEW MMO would work, but if it was going to work it should be set out like Football Manager Live - SI Games' first Football Manager MMO. Basically, there would be different game worlds each with their own set of workers. There would be a set amount of people allowed in each game world to keep workers available and at the start of the game everyone would have to draft their initial roster from the C'Verse. Promotions would either start off level or go under a "first come..." basis.
Personally, I'd rather just see online multiplayer as an extra feature to TEW - which would work with the same system as FM's network games, with players playing at the same time and when someone clicks continue, they would have to wait and for the other player to finish before the game continued.

The FM live idea is good if we will have loads of players involved.
I would say there is one big difference. TEW simply does not even have 5% of the FM community!

having to wait all the time would be so slow and boring i think most people would get fairly fed up. i think that would cause this games fall.

What i like the most would be to stick to the original TEW world.
The game will be free to play, but you start the game with virtually no cash, meaning you will need to work, primarily as a Road agent and if you are lucky a booker.
Players can purchase credits. Unlimited amounts at any point, making the game profitable to Adam. (Cybernations has a similar system).
All companies will have shares owned at the start by AI. This includes the TV, PPV, and Promotions.
ALthough you could set your own such companies and build them up, it will take allot of credits to do so, making it more interesting to try and buy out the original Cornellverse companies and firms.
To make it more interesting, and have a broarder range, i would add regions into countries, have much more countries and regions. The popularity of Wrestling will improve with time in the different regions depending on who is working them and with what quality of the shows.
You can set up your own promotion (with each promotion a + 20-30 new workers are added to the database, obviously not highly talented workers, it will depend how much money the player wants to invest into the company).
I would say the pace of the came should be based on real time. But maybe faster than usual. I would say 1 real day = 1 week play week on the worker age. Real players should not have an age.
Also there should be 1 show per day. Be it a PPV or TV show or what ever. If someone does not put on a show on a day, it won't play a role, they simply won't get the cash or ratings. Ratings will drop slowly if a player is not putting on his shows.
But then again, you can always have a booker.
You should be allowed to run more than 1 show a day if you have Brand Splits. You could run up to 3 brand splits, giving you 3 shows per day and plenty of action, of course you will need the roster big enough to run such a promotion. Also workers should have just 1 appearance per day.
Maybe so that there is more player roles and working positions, if you have a brand split, you should hire at least 2 bookers (other human players).
Also i think to make it interesting, signing workers to written contracts should be an option to every one, but a very expensive thing to be able to do and only a variant for the bigger promotions.
I think Promotion Popularity should be relative. Eventually everyone will get to 80-90%. To stop this from Happening, Promotions should be simply ranked.
The options are endless actually

I would love this if they did it right. but at least one person would moan all the time so what i was thinking same world (c-verse) and you can still download mods. so on these boards you will find someone or a maybe a few people you want to play a game with you then load up tew then go to the online feature and make a game put a pass on it tell the other players the pass then start a game in what ever world you want with whatever promotion you want. also if someone else wants to join you give them the pass and they can start as a new promotion ranging for local to a low cult, but there should be a maximum number of players say around 8 so the game still runs pretty smoothly. every player would have a go whenever they want if they take to long the a member of the group will start a poll to kick them if the poll is a sucess they leave all there work lost as they were too slow but the starter of the group has the option to let them back in as a new promotion if he or she thinks they have improved their ways.
