Post your upsets here.

I haven't had a OMG upset yet, but have seen serveral minors ones. Probably the most surprising was 45 year old Francis O'Leary 26-18 coming in defeating 4-0 prospect Nick Detroit by unanimous decision. Detroit is usually good for a nice little run, so this is a big setback to him.

Had Danny Akaboro beat Tora Mizwar. I think, I could be getting them mixed up.

And Ivor Orr beat Ethan Sutton.

Thought that was a big upset because Sutton is rookie of the year

Reconstructed my weight classes in Alpha-1 to make them more "Japanese" with only 4 divisions and held a Grad Prix for each new belt. First Round Kikuchi vs. Palmer Lette, Lette drops him at around the two minute mark pounds him out. Ok, upset but Lette has a punchers chance Semi's Lette gets beat on by Sarkisian for a full 10 minutes only to lay him out in the second. Third round I doubt I even need to tell you who he's facing so about two minutes in Fezzik get's dropped, but does rally back and pull a sub about a minute latter but still two wins over two very good Heavies and almost KOing THE MAN in Fezzik was pretty good for a borderline freakshow like Lette.

Li-Kong lost against Masahiro Maeda in his first fight and Julio Reguerio got smashed by Humphreys in his first title defense. At least Fezzik won otherwise it'd just be too wacky.

Not that it's a huge upset, but Raul Hughes dropped James Foster in 31 seconds, pushing him completely off the P4P rankings.

Carson Neuwirth won an absurd judges decision over Tora Mizwar.. The Bull dominated the first two rounds but didnt really look like finishing; the third couldve gone either way, but it wouldve been fair to give it to Neuwirth.. but my biggest star falls at the first hurdle.. Mizwar wont be winning my title any time soon, and thats a shame as he was my only ranked fighter (#21)..

Im almost through the first year, nothing too major yet.

If you guys can, could you put the vegas odds of the fight? Id love to know if anyone with +800 or more odds ever wins.

Carlton KO'ed him in the 2nd on mine...and that was after rocking him in the first.

I just had my first local fighter victory, a split decision over the "King of No Cardio" Wally Bryant. With that big of a gut, he should be a Super Heavyweight anyway. Nobody over 5'2 is that fat and under 265.

Some woman got KO'ed by a local fighter lol!

Sukarano fought Atep on like the first card of the game. Atep knocked him out cold in 30 seconds. I thought that was quite surprising.

Rodriego got his butt kicked by Jack Humphreys.

Gallego knocks out Silva cold directly after getting up from a knockdown 1:10 into the first round.

Jack Humphreys was Sonnen Regueiro, even threatening to knock him out before giving up his back in a scramble and falling victim to a RNC with 90 seconds left in the fight.

Caca de Andrade (#11 Lightweight) lost to Juan Pablo Rique via Armbar 4:40 of Rd. 3

Destroyed Rique in Rd 1 and into the 2nd half of Rd 2 before gassing and fighting off 3 submissions attempts. Knocked Rique down again in the 3rd before being pulled into guard, getting swept, and failing to escape the armbar.

Very close fight, and nearly a huge upset at UFC 3, Kimo Leopoldo at +850 was dominating the fight, landing 85 out of 100 punches, Royce Gracie tried 28 takedowns, the 28th was the only succesful one and ended up in an Achilles lock to end the fight.

Interestingly similar to their historical bout in a way, is it not... cept Royce resorted to pulling hair to win that particular fight.

Rafael Tavares (#5 FW, -880) was just submitted by Stefan Champion (unranked, +700). Tavares was beating up Champion in the clinch when out of nowhere he got caught in a standing guillotine. It was easily the most surprising result I have witnessed so far.

One of the things I love most about WMMA3 so far is that upsets are much more frequent than in WMMA2, yet it's not to the point where there are too many upsets. In WMMA2 it was too easy to make perfect match-ups where you knew exactly how the fight would play out.

I've had a few of what I would consider upsets (Sean Morrison losing to Beau Gorshin, for example), but they weren't upsets based on the gambling odds. I'm starting to think those gambling odds are a little too accurate, as it seems they are almost always right...

Ok here is the backstory:
-Steal Philip Ziskie from XCC
-To build him up I put him in a fight with "Mr. Inconsistant" Brian Claremont, who has a professional record of 7-6.
-The fight was a TV Main Event to build Ziskie as much popularity as possible.
-I excpected the fight to be: Takedown, Shift to mount, Big shots until Ref pulls Ziskie off.

What happened in the fight:
First round: A few attempted strikes. Ziskie gets a takedown. Eventually gets to mount. Time expires.
Second Round: Not much until out of nowhere Claremont knocks Ziskie down with a huge punch and hits him until he gets a TKO win.

Claremont's odds were +500.

Here's one: As SIGMA, I brought in Tora Mizwar. A ranked MW, I paid him pretty good money. For his debut fight, I booked him against a fighter I had never seen before, 6-1 Drazen Gabelich. Color me surprised when Drazen easily took Mizwar down and submitted Mizwar as if it was nothing. What I didn't know at the time is that Drazen Gabelich is really really good.

And then there's the story of Stanislaw Lipnicki.

Alexander Ivanov is a monster. We all know this. Given that he still needs grooming, I booked him against Stanislaw Lipnicki. I gave Ivanov hype because, quite frankly this was an easy win.

Then the PBP tells me Ivanov came into the fight sick. I can only assume Lipnicki poisoned his food before the fight. Lipnicki grinded out a boring decision when Ivanov gassed coming to the ring.

So. I have Lipnicki. He's derailed one career already. I decided to book him against the other young up and comer we all know will turn out great: Mugur Boc. Once again, I figured an easy victory. May not be exciting, but a victory.

Lipnicki, once again, by decision victory. He's now derailed two promising fighters.

On the final show of 1998, I booked Lipnicki once again. This time against the red hot, always exciting Souleyane Ya Konan. Clearly this was the solution. A fighter who has everything over Lipnicki and should easily crush him.

Then the PBP tells me Ya Konan's camp had been disrupted. I can only assume because Lipnicki spread a rumor that Konan's mother had died sending Konan racing back to Africa. Once again, in the most boring fashion possible, Stanislaw Lipnicki grinds out the decision.

After having derailed three young careers, Lipnicki is finally in contention for the SIGMA Heavyweight title. The light at the end of the tunnel is shining...

The next day after the Ya Konan fight, Stanislaw Lipnicki fails a steroid test and is suspended for a year.

Such ends the story of Stanislaw Lipnicki's one year run of treachery, cheating, and victory.

Mike Watson was knocked out cold by Jon Silvers.

I haven't figured out yet if Watson is just inconsistent, or a choke artist. In my current game, he dominated the first two fights I gave him; meanwhile, Marlon John won the LHW belt from Spencer Rubenstein.

I thought about giving Watson the first crack at John, but decided to hold off one more fight so Anthony LeToussier could get the first shot after his 90 second first round KO of Linfield Ballard; LeToussier KO'd John for the belt, again in less than 90 seconds.

So, on the same card, I booked two fights in the LHW division to help shape-up the division: Mike Watson vs Kendall Tracey (so Watson could fight a competitive but not too difficult opponent before his title shot), and Spencer Rubenstein vs Bryan Van Den Hauwe (so Rubenstein could get back on track, since Van Den Hauwe was on a winning streak but easily beatable).

Kendall Tracey got a 2nd round TKO victory after winning a close but boring first round. That alone was an upset for me, but not nearly as bad at the second fight: Van Den Hauwe picked up the split decision victory over Rubenstein, putting the former champ on a losing streak.

So, LeToussier's first opponent? Bryan Van Den Hauwe-- will The Modern Day Gladiator score another upset? Or will GAMMA's Light Heavyweight champion finally make a successful first defense? And Rubenstein gets Kendall Tracey in his next fight; if he loses again, I'll be really disappointed.

James Foster was completely dominated for 5 rounds by Jeff Carlton.

There's nothing new or that surprising about that one. Since WMMA 1 Foster has always had a reputation as having a terrible stand up game. Combine that with a weaker then you'd expect chin and a striker with good takedown defense can easily dominate Foster.

I remember in WMMA 1 everyone would complain that Foster would get dominated every single game and Ryland was like "no surprise, look who you're facing him against..."

I had Chuck Dooley in the following fights: (All victories)
1 Sirakov
2 Cobblepot
3 Manu'a QF
4 Pike SF
5 Banks Final
6 Boyer
And then afterwards Dooley challenged Hughes for the belt and...

defeated him in the 3rd by TKO.
Dooley is now the new Heavyweight champ and also fighter of the year.
Next up for Dooley will probably be the winner between Foster and Potter.:D

And then also:
Bud Brocket defeating Truck Gleeson for the Lightweight title after Gleeson defeated Morrison earlier the year. Next up for Brocket will probably be Morrison.

Just for interest:
I had the following awards
Nate Mcreary was Rookie of the year
William Harrison won Rise of the year
Chuck Dooley won Fighter of the year
Benn vs De Vries won Fight of the year
Watson vs Cohen won KO of the year
LeToussier and Rubenstein won Main event of the year.

All in all a great year for GAMMA:D

It was 2 years ago now in my SIGMA game but it won 1998 upset of the year. Negotiations fell out with Valentin Taneyev so he was set to leave, before he left I decided to feed him to Alfonso Villar in his first SIGMA match but out of nowhere Taneyev submitted him! I was pretty upset with that but Villar bounced back and hasn't lost a fight since, neither has Taneyev who was in GAMMA for 2 years but I paid good money to bring him back and he is awaiting his debut match in a week. Eventually I plan for Villar vs. Taneyev 2, hopefully for the Title when Villar inevitably wins the belt.

I'm playing as SIGMA and I swiped Helio from GAMMA. He was the #1 lightweight at the time and I had high hopes for him. He was unkown in Europe, so I figured a nice easy match against a low ranked fighter would be a good start. Put him in against Lucas Mueller. Mueller toughs it out and takes a solid Unanimous Decission. Upset of the year for 2001. Oy Vey.

Anyway, time for Helio to get back on the horse, so I feed another low ranked fighter to him - Vladimir Baskov this time. Helio spends almost fifteen minutes kicking Baskov in the head then BAM! in the last minute Baskov hits the flying heel hook he's been going for all fight and Helio taps.

James Foster has completely lost the plot in mine. He has 7 solid defenses of his GAMMA title, but then dropped it to Raul Hughes. I wanted to get him back on track, but he's now lost to Palmer Lette (unranked), Carter Potter (#6), and Jeff Carlton (#5). Poor guy hasn't seen a win in almost two years of game time. Part of my problem is that I want to use James as a main eventer so I, until now, have not been willing to feed him cans in the undercard or prelims to get him back on track.

I poached Hassan Fezzik so I was hoping to have the dream match, but James hasn't earned it. At this rate, the "dream match" will be Fezzik vs. Raul Hughes, with James relegated to the undercard.

Ivor Orr is an upset machine for me. He was a decent enough undercard/gatekeepr for the MW's, and suddenly, after a pretty bad 4 fight losing streak, I was gonna cut him, but in his last fight before I had to sign him to a new contract, he won, so I kept him on.

Well, he kept winning...and winning...and winning. As Orr was silently building up a head of steam, my MW king Bill Brown was tooling EVERYONE, including recently poached #1 and #2 MW's Matthew Dean and Alex Cole (Who had been ruling ALPHA-1 and GAMMA respectively) beating both like red headed step children within the first round, including putting Dean on the shelf for a while with an arm injury due to the fight winning Kimura.

Well, with my new MW stars dead in the water thanks to thumpings from Brown, I was looking for a contender. Mr. Orr had built up an EIGHT FIGHT WIN STREAK against a great line of young guns, high level gate keepers, and even former champions. I really liked Ivor after this and did NOT want to give him the shot, because after what Brown did to Dean and Cole, it didn't look like Orr would last 10 seconds, let alone a round, but I needed a main event for a card.

So here comes the main event. Ivor is a massive underdog, and no one saw Orr as much more than a stand in contender, and people were expecting a first round finish and total domination for the time the fight lasted.

Orr was having NONE of that. for 4 and a half rounds he made the most of his first (and likely only) title shot and rose to the occasion and met Brown blow for blow, and the two trade positions, takedowns and sub attempts for the entire time. Finally Orr seemed to gather a head of steam and planted Brown with a huge slam that seemed to steal Brown's soul.

Orr came alive and passed with ease from guard to side control, and mounted Brown, who was floundering as Orr laid on the GnP. Brown was managing to absorb the blows, but couldn't deal with the blows easily, let alone advance his position. It looked like Brown would survive the round until, out of nowhere, Orr reached down and started wrenching on Brown's head with a guillotine choke. With 1 second left in the round, Brown tapped.

And just like that, the consensus #1 MW and top 5er in the P4P was dethroned by a MW not even in the top 10. Upset of the year for sure (which the game agreed with)

And Orr's train doesn't stop there, he made his first defense with a hell of a showing against Alex Cole who, since the drubbing by Brown, went on a 4 fight win streak. The fight didn't last two minutes. Orr caught a kick, took Cole down to half guard, moved to side control, took Cole's back, sank in the hooks and chocked him out.

To sum it up, Ivor Orr had the most awesome showing in an upset ever, and sure as hell backed it up in his first defense.

Just had two upsets on the one show.

The lesser of the pair was regen Charles Head knocking out Jeffrey Foxworthy. Head is an average level fighter at best that was hired to fill in the gaps in prelim fights. The basic nubers of the fight were Foxworthy landing 15 of 21 strikes in the fight, Head landed 1 of 7 and it was that 1 that put Foxworthy to sleep.

Main event of the same card saw David Webb, the most dominant Welterweight Champion in my company to date, drop his title to the unremarkable Tyler Lass. Lass hasn't done much in my game but after building up a 3 fight winning streak against mid level opponents and lacking an elite level challenge for Webb i threw Lass into the main event expecting him to fall to defeat. Lass basically walled and stalled Webb for 5 rounds to earn himself the Title in a truly awful match. Julio Regueiro is next in line for a Title shot, even well past his prime i doubt Lass will be able to defeat him.

In my current game, I put top contender fights in UFNs to boost ratings.

So Brock Lesnar is put up with former sparring partner and fellow wrestler Cole Konrad, which I thought was sure to lead Brock well on his way to tie Randy Couture's title reigns (Couture has become a 4-time champ in my game, Lesnar is a 3-time):

- 'King' Cole Konrad vs. Brock Lesnar
- From player-controlled event 'Ultimate Fight Night' (from the save game 'UFC')
- Created 20 May 2011

>The co-main event is up next. 'King' Cole Konrad goes head to head with Brock Lesnar in the UFC Heavyweight division.

>Konrad gets it! Lesnar manages to pull guard upon impact.
>Konrad throws a few right hands to the body.
>Lesnar throws out some punches, but Konrad leans back to avoid them.
>Konrad punches down at Lesnar, but they are easily taken on the gloves.
>Using his leg strength to push Konrad back a bit, Lesnar looks to scramble for position.
>He may regret that choice, as it gives Konrad the perfect opportunity to come over the top and get side control.
>Konrad looks to roll Lesnar slightly and slip behind.
>Lesnar is in big trouble as he is forced to give up his back!
>We pass the halfway mark of this round.
>Konrad increases his control by getting both hooks in.

>Lesnar struggles against Konrad and manages to free himself from the hooks.
>Konrad tries to lock Lesnar in an armbar.
>Konrad rolls onto his back to try and get the armbar, but Lesnar pulls free and gets side control.
>Lesnar starts trying to work to use side control as a way to get behind Konrad.

>Lesnar, with both hooks fully in, tries to get the rear naked choke applied.
>Konrad defends himself well against the choke.
>The time is up, and that's the end of round one.
>I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Konrad.
>There's the bell and round number two begins!
>Judging from what we heard from his corner, Lesnar is looking to avoid strikes and take it to the ground in this round.

2002 in my real world game and Igor Vovchanchyn beat Fedor. Freaking Igor Vovchanchyn beat a 25 year old Fedor. Yes, Vovchanchyn was a fairly dangerous guy (so long as he was on his feet) from about 98-2000. (Right up to the time he beat Mark Kerr) However, this is Fedor Emelianenko we're talking about here when he was an ass kicking machine. The hell of it is, Fedor had Vovchanchyn beaten in nearly every category. And beat by a lot.

I didn't think to check the odds, but I bet they were tremendously in Fedor's favor. Igor was supposed to be an easy win for Fedor before he faced Randy Couture. Now I have to delay the match by months to work Fedor back into the #2 position. Couture isn't getting any younger here, and it's already looking pretty one sided in Fedor's favor. I'd like to be at least a little bit competitive.

Also, this happened a few years earlier in my game, but Bas Rutten losing to Joel Sutton in his retirement match. Again, it was supposed to be an easy win to "send off" Rutten. I knew Rutten had been going downhill for the past 6-8 months, but I didn't think he had gotten that bad.

One thing I've noticed is the wrong person wins the majority of my "easy" matches, so I think it may be me doing something wrong here...

It's 3:30am and this is getting rambly, so I'll stop now....

GAMMA 25: Sugar vs. Morrison:

After 3 uninspired rounds where Morrison seemed to be on his way to a UD this happened:

A tired Morrison shoots in, looking for a close range double leg.
Sugar tries to hook a guillotine as Morrison comes in.
The takedown is successful, it's a single leg that leaves Sugar pulling guard.
Morrison is trying to pass guard.
He can't find a way past the guard.
Sugar attempts to lock on a triangle choke.
Sugar gets the triangle fully applied...and there's the tap out!
The winner, by submission, is Brandon 'Sugar Rush' Sugar!
Official Result: Brandon 'Sugar Rush' Sugar defeats 'The Man With No Nickname' Sean Morrison (Submission (Triangle) in 4:48 of round 4). The match was rated as being Poor.

Post fight Morrison falls out of the top 25 PFP and drops to #11 Lightweight. Sugar jumps into the top 25 PFP at #11 and is currently the #2 Lightweight.

I was doing some quick sims, throwing Hassan against random people. He lost to Tadamasa Yamada, then beat him twice. Then he beat a few more random people and I decided to throw Lefter Oktay at him since I've never had this fight happen in any of my games... Hassan took Oktay down in the first and beat on him, almost secured a rear naked choke and the bell rang. 2nd round starts and Oktay comes out and knocks Hassan out with a counter right.

Probably the craziest thing I've seen so far, but it's not like Wilson Franklyn beat him or anything.

Well, Jack Cobblepot wasn't having any of it. He came in and stifled everything Foster did and controlled the fight from bell to bell for 3 rounds to win a Unanimous decision.

Meanwhile my champion keeps destroying all comers (Foster, Boyer, Carlton, and Sharp). Winning the title and defending it 3 times by way of KO against some of the best in the division (with Sharp having the weakest Chin at 22%).

Thomas KO'd Buddy Garner after getting dominated in the first two rounds to win GAMMA MW, Carlton took out Foster to win GAMMA HW via sprawling front headlock to ground and pound tko, O'Breen put Morrison in a triangle, Morrison powerbombed him then O'Breen tightened the hold to win GAMMA LW in my new franchise --> all in the first year of my new GAMMA game (1998)

Just started a GAMMA game and decided to give Adam White an easy win to help build him up so I hired Gordon Flynn. After being dominated for the first two rounds 2:36 into the third Flynn landed a massive right hook that knocked White clean out.

I just had quite a bizarre fight, I had been promoting Raul Hughes (Heavyweight Champ) vs. Leon Banks with Large hype because I thought that they'd have an awesome fight. Turns out that Banks knocked out Hughes after 4 rounds and the match got an abysmal rating! *facepalm*. It is a crazy upset for me though, I thought Banks got pretty lucky with a couple of wins leading up to the Title fight and just chucked it together because James Foster wanted to spend time with his family for 9 months so there's goes my top contender and rematch. Banks never went close to getting a Championship in any of my other games.

Was just doing a few quick matches with the UFC mod and one of them was Josh Koscheck beating BJ Penn with 2 seconds left in the match. That alone wasn't the upset, but Koscheck making Penn tap out to a heel hook was almost too much for my brain to handle.

I thought I was going to extend Julio Regueiro's reign as GAMMA Welterweight champion, but Josh Aldarisio won through unanimous decision in a very poor match and Julio is now far down on the rankings.

Another thing, every time I put up Linfield Ballard vs Spencer Rubenstein Ballard mostly manage to win, but this time Rubenstein retained his championship and I was putting up Ballard against what I thought was easier opponents, but he went on a three fights losing streak and I dumped him like UFC does after a few losses in a row.

 Wow, almost all those things happened in my current GAMMA game! I had an immediate rematch for the Welterweight title fight and Regueiro won it back though. I also didn't fire Ballard, I think he just loss two in a row and then won one.

I had Pedro Souza beat both Aldez and Villar twice while running the FLB gauntlet on the light heavy division, he's got decent skills but I thought that streak was pretty crazy.

I've also seen Lamont Banner go 34-0 before losing his last two fights and retiring. He ran through the XCC featherweight division beating Ziskie three times before dominating the Lightweight division. He then jumped to GAMMA and owned their lightweight division. I thought that was pretty crazy as I've had several games where he's fairly average.

In my GAMMA games, Foster usually sucks and Raul Hughes dominates beating him and Carlton. Marlon John dominates the light heavys and then moves to middleweight and dominates there.

Lamont Banner is the best fighter if he gets into a good camp.
I had one save file I think he went about 50ish-0 and he retired.
That was my old gamma file on my now dead CPU, he beat like 4 or 5 other future Hall of Famers (Li-Kong-Ho, Sukarno, Morrison, Manuel Silva, etc.
Him and Isaiah Monroe are the best prospects in the game imo.

So, I'm playing my Weidtverse game, Laurent Fontaine is on a 7 win streak and the number 1 middleweight in the world. He (as usual) has very good wrestling, ground control and sub defense (all 80-90% to 90-100%)

He then fights kickboxer Arnaud Daoust and gets KOed in the 4th, since I generally skip to the end result of each fight I didn't know why, but I assume it was Daoust's sprawl was to good.

In his next fight he fought brawler Fulton Carter and gets TKOed in the 3rd, once again, skip no clue. Assume Carter's power to much for Fontaine's 50-60% chin.

Rematch against Daoust, loses via decision (Poor), confused so I read the stats: zero takedown attempts. Watch play-by-play, just jabs occasionally and looks at his corner. 40-50% in all striking skills. Check out his camp, pure striking.

Put him up against 1-8 Thomas Roy, he plays the horrible boxing game again without a single takedown attempt. He loses. Post fight he leaves his old camp.

He's like the Jorgel BJJ guy.

You say that, but Trailescu has gone Great-Poor-Great for me so far, although that's possibly because of his opponents - he faced Jozef Jankowski and Jacco Landeweerd in the two Greats, i.e. a pair of kick boxers who'd stand and bang with him, and got the Poor against a wrestler.

It could just be a quirk of the games I've run, as I now the fighters can be a little different every time. In the 2 games I used him most in, he was usually content to hang back and outpoint whoever he was fighting. It was boring, but sometimes it gives him a chance against some of the monsters that overwhelm everyone else.

He certainly has the potential for excitement. I don't doubt he could be so in your games.

Ive had two huge upsets as of late, currently im in 2008 in the dawn of mma mod (yes 13 years in) and the two latest upsets i got are insane.

Upset #1
It was Takanori Gomi vs Joe Lauzon, Lauzon is a + 400 underdog and Lauzon won every round and eventually submitted the fireball kid in the 4th round.

Upset #2
Renzo Gracie(20-3) vs Micheal Bisping(13-3)

Bisping took it too Renzo Gracie and won every round , the first time Renzo Gracie has ever lost a 30-27 division, and it wasnt done with striking, Bisping won with great wrestling and decent Jiu-Jitsu. That is perhaps the biggest part of this epic upset :D

I'm in 1989 and "The Bandit" Marko Yakovlev, upset world class wrestler and former ISL heavyweight champion "Unstoppable K" Kunimichi Kikuchi. Kikuchi has been one of the dominating fighter during the 80's with only two defeats against Jeff "The Rock" Carlton and the current ISL heavyweight champion Hassan Fezzik. "The Bandit" is a Taekwondo based fighter and a regen of Manol Sirakov. He has probably the weakest chin in the game world, but still manages to rack up wins against fighters i'm certain he was going to lose against. Despite being one of the greatest takedown machines in the world, Kikuchi couldn't catch Yakovlev in the ring and finally lost after the judge's decision.

The Beginning of Mixed Martial Arts Database

It begins in 1985 with submission based International Shoot League and Ironman Arena Heroes. All other promotions are set to debut in the future like ALPHA-1 in 1990 and GAMMA in 1992. The world are set to change big time with ALHPA-1 that allows ground strikes, kicks...

The database consists of 2700+ fighters all with renders. C-Verse Default (with added fighters from GDS FS, Eyeball, Reboot, Reborn, Redone, FSC converted to WMMA3. All fighters that are set to debut before 1998 have lowered skills. All fighters from Weidtverse that has renders made by London and Scottie has been added. Most fighters from various fighters share threads in WMMA2/WMMA3 forums has been added. Almost all renders with actual names in various WMMA, WMMA2 and WMMA3 forums has been added to the game. Birth years and debut years has been adjusted so that the fighters has the lowest available from WMMA, WMMA2 or WMMA3. The fighters has been re-given their best striking skills from the WMMA, WMMA2 or WMMA3 (for example has a fighter set to be a wrestler in WMMA3, been re-given his striking skills and background he might have had in WMMA or WMMA2, so that the fighter are a hybrid wrestler/kickboxer). Most added fighters are set to debut after 1998.

Sorry, but i can't release this work publically since i don't have permission from the creators of the fighters and renders. It would also take a lot of time to go through everything to find and contact all those who needs to be contacted to get their approval to release it publically.

The beast if finally beaten. Mantas Andreyev has developed into a pure beast and had held the ISL Light Heavyweight title since 1985, with a 10-0 record and several defences against all top contenders like Robun Yamazaki, Roberto Aldez, Edilberto and Elgar.

In 1989 he's beaten by underdog George Laurent. The only top fighter that Laurent had beaten earlier was Robun Yamazaki and Laurent didn't seem like a elite fighter after a couple of losses against mid- and low-level guys like Ebizo Fujishima and Bill Cumming.

Besides being a living fighting legend Mantas Andreyev is also coaching undefeated ISL Heavyweight champion Hassan Fezzik, former ISL Middleweight champion Yegor Semyonov and elite Welterweight contender Yevgeni Sipatov.

I've had a lot of surprising upsets in all my time playing WMMA but this one I had tonight is the first time that I was ever legitimately shocked by the result of a fight...

Patrick Thomas has been an absolute beast for me in my MW division, easily KOing the likes of Fjodor Kanchelskis and Heiji Endo to the point where I was having a tough time finding anybody to challenge him. Instead of making Thomas sit on the sidelines and wait for somebody to earn a title shot I decided to keep him active by feeding him a can in the form of washed up 38 year old Rob Baines.

Baines was never anything special as a fighter to begin with. For the first couple years in my game he managed to win the BCF middleweight title and defend it a few times but it was mostly against sub-par competition. After I signed him he lost pretty much all of his fights over the course of 4 years including an 0-5 stretch where I kept forgetting to cut him (I usually cut anybody who loses 3 in a row). He was probably the worst fighter on my roster yet he was somewhat popular so I figured he would make a perfect punching bag for Thomas.

I was wrong. Baines ended up submitting Thomas in the 3rd round and now the #1 promotion in the world is stuck with an unranked champion and one of my biggest stars is coming off a loss.

Whoops :o

I thought my SIGMA card had a decent upset first up when Todd D'Abruzzo beat Tora Mizwar...
but 3 fights later Oleksandro Hlushko defeated Will Kane! To make matters worse Kane was hyped. I have a sneaking suspicion that hyping tends to be slightly more prone to backfiring upsets.

another update...
thought I'd boost Lars Bohlin into Main Event territory with a not-too-difficult defence against Graeme Spark. Needless to say Lars lost, KO'd in the 5th despite having the better of the fight. It was enough to win Upset of the Year.

I have not even completed 1st year of the game yet and have 3 repeat offenders.

Firstly The Latino Wild Cat Agustin Gonzalez who in my last WMMA 2 game was undefeated at 4-0 of upsets with his last one with the heavily outranked Simon Vine. In WMMA 3 he lost his GAMMA debut to Heichi Shimizu before bouncing back to defeat once again completely outmatching him Tyler Lass who was fresh off 2 first round rear naked chokes it was the highest betting odds I'd ever seen Lass was in the region of -700 Gonzalez +800. Every fight win or lose the Cats matches always rate poor.

Another unlikely star is The Solider of Fortune Thomas Smith who despite having a submission attack rating of 65-70% has managed to submit firstly Adam White then Osmosis Benn whose +70 defenses you woulda figured would have them safe.

Finally my most overperforming star i believe is Ricky Heath with takedown defense and submission defense of 45-50% hes practically fodder to any potential grapplers unfortunately he doesn't seem aware of this and bounced back from being KOd by Marcos Maciel firstly UD'd Terry Catt which ok is unlikely but not impossible especially as he was a little green still. For his next match he was in against Nilton Fantoni whos wrestling and takedowns of 80-90% and submissions of 70-80% and pretty much even striking stats woulda secured the win not to mention Fantonis momentum of being 7-0 at the time but alas he also fell to Unanimous decision.

Just finished up a ppv that had two huge upsets. In my second year with the UFC (Modern Warriors Mod). In the co-main, Quinton Jackson was supposed to have a tune-up fight against Ryan Jimmo (who had beaten Matyushenko and Forrest Griffin thus far) but ended up getting dominated for 15 minutes. Now Jackson is 1-3 in his last 4 and I'm one match away from a Jimmo title shot.

In the main event, Anderson Silva crushed Mark Munoz for the better part of three and a half rounds before Mark hit a left counter and knocked silva down. Then in the fifth he just came out with a barrage of punches at the opening bell and ended the legendary reign of the spider. Munoz, the new champ, (which is weird to see even in the game) has now won 9 straight and almost has as dominating a ufc record as silva does. Weird event.

The knockdown and the success in stand-up is definitely surprising. In my current game Fezzik's first loss was also to Lette, by TKO when Lette countered a triangle choke by passing to side control and pounded him out.

Lette is historically VERY hard to take down, he's got solid wrestling and is huge, the weight is something that makes it significantly harder to take him down I've noticed. Even Fezzik can only do it when the big man is tired or in the clinch.

I had always pegged Lette as a simple brawler. They had fought before and Fezzik made short work of him. I'd love to see a rematch, that'd be a legendary trilogy.

Major upset for me just now...

Rory MacDonald makes Georges St. Pierre submit in GSP's first match for USA Close Kombat. This throws my plans to have GSP challenge Paul Daley for the USACK Middleweight crown out the window, and instead hands MacDonald the keys to that bout.

Might work out for GSP and us after all. This slots him in nicely to fight Martin Kampmann in a Middleweight title eliminator on one of my ESPN cards.

Dude I could see both of those happening, if Anderson gets cocky he could get caught, Bonnar is gonna be super ready and into this fight since its his last big chance. Dave Herman could also out Nog who's chin seems sketchy, both are still shocking though.

Bonnar isn't really a powerful puncher, though. Not to mention Silva has taken shots flush to the chin from Henderson, so it's hard to imagine him getting KO'd by a guy like Bonnar.

I'll give a little backstory on this one, it was a co-main event on one of my bigger PPV's on the year, a lot of spotlight on the fight. Fiyero Lermontov (26-5) is a former 4-time SIGMA champion, once at lightweight and 3 times at welterweight, he faces Oleksandro Hlushko (16-7) who was never a real contender, more of a mid-tier test for the real contenders, but he did have decent name value and entertaining fights, an elusive boxer in great condition. In the lead up to the fight he had managed to put together an impressive 3-fight winning streak with knock outs over people he should've lost to.

The fight was also meant to test whether Lermontov can stay consistent as he had made a habit out of winning the title in impressive fashion and then losing it in rather controversial fashion, losing split decision title fights twice in his career only to take the title back months later. Lermontov was coming off an impressive victory in his last fight.

You see where this is going. Lermontov outgrappled him for 2,5 rounds, until he made a sloppy takedown attempt that Hlushko reversed, took his back, and sunk in the rear naked choke for the third-round submission, the first submission of his career. Fun fact, Hlushko's submission skills are 45-50%, Lermontov's submission defense is 90%.

Dexter Darling just beat Fiyero Lermontov in 2 rounds via TKO.

and Soren Rasmussen DOMINATED 39-0 Hassan Fezzik in 2 minutes flat via GNP TKO.

Rasmussen has losses to Hiro Arai and Sly Twinge, yet he can whoop the greatest fighter in the HW division

Darling over Lermentov is no upset.

Darling is a big Middleweight that can bulk to 205 and Lermentov is a natural Lightweight. Theres a bit of a skill disparity but Darling is a powerful athletic guy with a lot of punching power.

I think my most shocking so far was Chuck Dooley dethrowning the undefeated Fezzik after years.

Fezzik was past his prime however and retired a mere two fighters later....but he was the first to beat him. He also upset James Foster when he first came over from America and delayed the Fezzik-Foster megafight.

Oh that Chuck Dooley always coming up big when he's against it.

I'm playing the Default Redone where Lermontov is a MW, therefore the size advantage you speak of is non-existant. and Darling is outclassed in literally every skill, so I was quite surprised

Yeah I'm kinda pissed I even booked the fight to begin with. I had a 236-6000 lb division and the SHW's just can maul everyone, so they're getting their own division now

Some of those guys I made cans and the successful ones I gave new renders.

I noticed that there are a good amount of renders in the WMMA2 Render Thread (http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39704) that aren't being used in any WMMA3 mods.

I just turn their skills way down and then I use them to build up the records of my up and coming fighters.

I've been playing this game ever since it came out, and I just experienced the biggest upset, in my opinion, since I started.

Brand new GAMMA game, very first show, main card, second match.

Ricky Heath def. Hyun Shuk Lin by 30-27 Unanimous Decision.

Heath is a caaaaaaaaaaan, always as been. This caught me by surprise, but it was a pleasant "oh damn, anything CAN happen in MMA" type surprise.

Not quite an upset but my most unexpected finish was Hiroko Doi making Alyssa Taylor tap out in 40 seconds.

The other of course is Saya Ikegami ko'ing Simone King in the opening 20 seconds when I had been hyping the hell out of King in the hope that I could make her a star. Nope, Saya just decided that she did not care at all.
