Sign up thread, you know what to do. This will be a themed game based upon Joss Whedon's popular Dr. Horrible Sing-along blog.

Expect song, dance, murder and mayhem.

These theme games, seem really popular, but I never know what the dang themes are about.. I think there is a generation gap or something, you guys are just too old for me.

It's all about cultural awareness. Being a denizen of the internet, I've at least heard of all the themes we've come across (though there have been many roles I've never heard of).

I mean, there's a whole cross-section of the U.S. that thinks music boils down to Daughtry and Taylor Swift, movies boil down to Avatar and whatever Julia Roberts is in at the given moment, and TV boils down to Dancing with the Stars and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Ok, is that Roger Daughtry? Taylor Swift I'm not a fan of... Of course, my music goes a totally opposing way then Taylor Swift anyways. Avator, I didn't get to see it in 3-D, fact is, I haven't seen a 3-D movie yet, although if I had glasses at the time, I could have seen Jaws 3-D.

The theory is still problematic. I don't tend to fare well as scum. My first game I was scum and got lynched right off. Several elements including over-excitement, missing a call to let the accused speak and lack of awareness of site mechanics led to the lynch boomeranging onto me. Caulk-ups of that scale are now Cappy Mistakes because of it. In Cartoon Chaos, my numbers got so thinned out I turned myself into the town and became state's evidence. Was still fun in its way after that but I couldn't take the pressure of outliving my associates. And in Character Creation, I melted down so badly I had to take a year off from the game just to wash the taste of humiliation out of my mouth. Only time I really had a scum run to be proud of was GDS Mafia and I started out town in that game. Only no one would believe me until after I got recruited as scum. So I tend to be town.

As co-mod of Medical Mafia, I will once again go on the record as saying you had a terrible game as scum in that one. It was a direct run down of what you said that ended up with almost your entire team getting outted and killed. It didn't help that your team disintegrated with some inactivity too, but even if you were the best scum in that game you still weren't good. As mod, no-one in that game would be eligible for being forwarded to the "Best Scum" category for the upcoming Scummies.

I really don't want to bang on about this, but I don't want people to operate under any false illusions. Accuracy is important, especially to me. You had at least one genuinely good game this year (I forget which one, sadly) but Medical Mafia wasn't one of them.

I was only irritated cos you kept saying things without evidence... I called you scum several times for your play, just had no evidence to prove it and no way to get others on board either. Wasn't a good game for me, something I've admitted many times over. I wasn't the only one though. :p

Well I did have proof that Jmans lists were wrong. I couldn't come out and admit it though. :p

I would have been hung had I admitted killing DWW. I thought the acum group would suspect I was the killer when I could not off myself. Hell I tried to get Grunt to let me fake a hit on myself to get half the money but he was being all mean and said no. :(

That was a huge learning experience for me and hope I get the chance to try again.

I agree with all the sentiments in this post. CFC was a lot of fun and is likely to do very well in the Scummies. MLT has also improved a lot this past year, which has seen her gone from Community's Most Friendly And Unkillable to... Friendly Person Who Can Be Safely Killed Due To Under-Ratedness. I give it another game or two before people realise that you (MLT) get killed early and you start being protected early on. It's almost time to swing back around to killing me early on now after what happened in CFC. :)

I've also been playing a lot of the Battlestar Galactica board game at my comic shop, and it's sort of the same structure of "figure out who the bad guys are before they kill you". Unless of course, you are one of the bad guys.

You know... I'm tired of this missunderstanding. First off, there is reason to use an apostrophe in PM's... Just like you would say "Roy managed to climb out of the driver's side." "My pm's didn't say so."

Some people have to be right on certain things (even if it's just jokingly so), no matter what. Just say "okey dokey" and move on. It's really very unimportant.

PM is not the correct way to abbreviate private messages, but p.m. is, although pm is perfectly exceptable. When you use abbreviations an apostrophe is perfectly exceptable as well... You don't just add an S and say "Plural". How do you seperate one abbreviation from another? Or do you just like everyone saying they have pms all the time?

True story: We have a few cats. One of them I named Teddy Bear (we call him "Bear" for short), because he's like a Teddy Bear. He's about grown now, but he's still a kitten at heart.

I am at the counter top opening up cans of cat food, and they of course all are around me doing their little begging meow's and such. He jumps up to the counter top (something that happens EVERY TIME by at least two of them), but misjudge's. He's slipping down, but trying to claw up at the same time. Falls on his butt, and slides backward onto his back. You don't expect to see that from an animal that is supposed to be so gracefull, but my cats get so excited sometimes, just me walking in the door, you will see clumsiness that you probably wouldn't ever know about in cats, without owning them.

I used to think cats were pretty dumb in comparison to dogs... But now having been around them for a good time, it's amazing the things they do without being taught. They come when I call them, and that includes just doing the "come here" pointer finger thing... They always love affection, and really, the biggest difference to me has been in how much they can get into. It's like being around two year olds, and that has it's downfalls as well.

You forget that the English language changes (I can't even tell you how many words have been added to the Webster's Dictionary since I first looked at one, but it's quite a few).

I'll be the first to admit I break just about every English law, nor do I wish to use "correct" English every time I post on the internet... If it were my job, I'd use spell check and lots of other things, but even that has been proved to be incorrectly used.

Actually, all my cats will roll over, and we never trained them to do it. Just something they start doing at a young age, and we just encouraged it "Roll over boy!" So we say it and they do it, because they think a belly rub is coming more then likely, but still.

My fathers bird. Since they are territorial she hates me. She use to be great. Sit on my shoulder and even help clean her dropping rack out.

Once ny niece was born I couldn't let her out of the cage when she was there. Once the baby left Josie the bird started getting mean because once she bonds with you it's just you and the bird. She has never liked me after that.

Now when I go to my fathers she flys at me. She chases me into the bathroom...

Anyways, to be honest, I could care less about how people spell or abbreviate, or use a ' in a sentence. My only pet peeve is some people go to the extreme (not talking about Astil either.... No one really on these forums, but I've seen it on others) of proper English on a board that is used as a place for common fun that has nothing to do with proper English.

Nah, he just knows Taker is usually on the dev team. I've got money on a revisit to the WreSpi series before we see another TEW. Even if I'm on the dev team I doubt I'll hear anything about either for a few months yet, let alone be in a position to give spoilers. :p

Yeah. WreSpri 3 was supposed to be coming out but that got axed for either TEW or WMMA.

My guess is that with the huge success of the revamped WMMA3 fight engine that WreSpri 3 is going to borrow heavily from it over TEW.

And I think it would be awesome for all of that to co-exist in one big game.

C-VERSE 2020, it's going to happen. Have a toggle to determine if fights are real or fixed. Road agent notes to trigger key sequences in the fight engine so that matches can be simmed and/or choreographed by the player.

So maybe you micromanage every move, maybe you just say "have a big bump" and let the engine determine what and when.

And a system so that workers can flip from one to another. So an MMA fighter gets a bad record and decides to switch over to wrestling, or vice versa.

I'm telling you, Fezzik vs. Cornell would be HUGE :D

There would still need to be a great deal of work involved in modifying the WMMA engine to WreSpi, simply due to the amount of potential moves involved in wrestling. Wrestling and MMA are two very different animals. If WreSpi were to happen then I doubt Adam would use the WMMA engine... but I may be wrong. It still amazes me what WMMA and TEW are both capable of. As someone with a (limited) background in programming, I am certainly in awe.
While i'm sure you've all heard of the various games that Adam has created over the years, I doubt you've ever heard of my game called, "Tramp"...? No? Thought not. :p

In other off-topic news, anyone who likes games like Morrowind or Oblivion (big sprawling spaces with plenty to do etc.), a S.T.A.L.K.E.R bundle is available on Steam for £3 or $4.68. I bought them both a while ago, still haven't even scratched the surface of Shadow of Chernobyl but I love it.

Other games like Oblivion and Fallout give you some nice opening, scripted quests to ease you into the game's open world.

My first game in STALKER I walked the wrong way, encountered a bunch of soldiers the sniped me and killed me.

Second game, I ambushed a squad of soldiers giving me some super cool equipment. Then they called in backup and wiped out the entire opening town and all the quest givers.

My third game I got the farthest, completed several quests, found some treasure etc. etc...but I just got bored by it and moved on.

Fallout is TONS better as a post-apocalyptic wasteland and STALKER just didn't have the plot, the characters, the setting, or really anything to hold my interest.

Kind of like The Witcher, it just felt like a single-player MMO, and that's NOT a good comparison as most MMO's are boringly grind-tastic.

Couldn't disagree more. There are only three games (I can think of at the moment) since Morrowind that have grabbed me by the nuts and wouldn't let go. STALKER is one of them, the other two are TEW 2010 and WMMA 3. TEW 2010 and WMMA 3 are available from www.greydogsoftware.com. :cool:

Imagine three or four way matches with multi-player. Surely multi-player would be the Holy Grail for the WreSpi series.
