THE RULES:

While most of the rules here have simply been copy and pasted from previous games, I have made some additions and alterations of my own. So don't think you can skip any of them!

HOW TO PLAY:

ROLES: Every player has been given a role, each with it’s own abilities (or lack thereof). Your role PM will explain what it does if you are meant to know. You do not need to reveal your role to other players nor will we do so in the in-game write ups. Of course, you can choose to reveal information about your role if you wish to if you feel it would help you to reach your win condition. Jut remember that any information you reveal can also be used against you, so claiming is entirely at your own risk. If you want to use your ability, PM the mods of the game (praguepride and Jackalbane). You may not post any part of your role PM (or anyone else's role PM you can see) in the game thread except the bit that states “Convention Aligned Protector” or something similar.

PHASES: The game is split into two phases, Day and Night. The game begins during the day phase with all players (Town and Mafia alike) posting in the thread deciding who to lynch. Lynching is the town’s main way of eliminating mafia, so be sure to examine everything that your fellow players say in order to find inconsistencies, lies, dodgy voting patterns and anything else that could incriminate people. There may also be clues in the end of phase write ups, but relying on those is not advised as they may be veiled, misleading or otherwise unreliable. Day phases last approximately 48 hours or until a consensus is reached on who to lynch. Night phases last approximately 24 hours but may end earlier if all night activities are completed. If you have an optional ability and choose not to use it, please inform the mods via PM so that they know not to wait on your ability.

VOTING: All voting and game related discussion is to occur within the game thread. Town players may discuss who they think are Mafia, and Mafia members should be trying to avoid being lynched by bluffing and blending in and generally trying to not get lynched. To vote on anyone, post VOTE: Username (MUST BE IN BOLD!). For instance, Vote: praguepride would be the correct way to vote. You can also change your vote by typing CHANGE VOTE: Username (AGAIN IN BOLD!). You can also change your vote to nobody by typing CHANGE VOTE: No Vote (STILL IN BOLD!). Your last option is to vote for a no lynch, meaning that you actively choose to not lynch anyone. To do so simply type VOTE: No lynch (BOLDED OBVIOUSLY!). All votes post in the thread for your vote to count and it must be in bold and visible, so no white text votes will be counted. If you vote within a quote then your vote won’t be counted, so if you mess up voting and quote it to edit it then it will not count.

DAY PHASES: A Day Phase is over whenever a person obtains votes from more than 50% of the total number of players remaining, at which point they are lynched. It can also end if the time expires before a lynch is reached, at which point a No Lynch will be declared. There are abilities out there that can change votes such as vote manipulators, multi voters and no-voters so vote counts may not always be as they seem. When a person dies their role title will be revealed for all to see in the end of day write up.

NIGHT PHASES: Night Phases begin after a day phase has ended. During this time most abilities will be sent in to the mods (praguepride and Jackalbane), with the Mafia usually sending in their kills while the town send in names of people they want to use their abilities on, such as investigate or protect. The night phase will end once all abilities have been sent in or when the time limit expires, at which point the mods will do a write up of the night’s activities. The write up will reveal what players have been killed any some other events that happen depending on what the mods consider important enough to be in the write ups. Whenever possible, try to get PMs into the mods as soon as possible after the start of the night phase in order to keep the game moving along at a quick pace.

Once night phase ended, a new day begins and the cycle repeats itself until win conditions have been reached. The Town generally wins when there are no threats left to them, the Mafia generally win when their numbers are equal to or greater than the remaining non-Mafia players. Remember, this is a team effort so if you think sacrificing someone may help your cause then go ahead.

RULES:

- No players are allowed to edit their posts EVER!. Whether it be to correct a typo or to remove some accidentally incriminating things someone has said, no editing of posts is allowed. While mods may choose to be lenient, the standard penalty for anyone caught editing a post is a mod kill.

- Though this may also be a mafia game, try not to postwhore in the thread. Where possible try to keep things relevant to the game that is being played and try not to let arguments get out of hand. This game stirs up some passionate arguments and we understand that this will happen, but if anything turns into a personal attack then it ruins the fun for everyone. Be considerate.

- Though we can’t force you to post, all mods love to see active participants in their games. We advise everyone to check in at least once a day, as games can move pretty fast and it can be easy to fall behind if you are not on regularly.

- Once you are dead, you stay dead. You will not be allowed to participate in the game thread or continue to talk to people outside the thread that you could talk to before. So if you are a Mafia player who dies, you are NOT allowed to continue talking about the game to your Mafia team mates. If you are dead, try not to post anything in the game thread as anything you say could be an unnecessary distraction to those still playing, though a quick post going “Oooooooo I’m a ghost!!” is generally okay, no-one is allowed to leave cryptic messages from the dead, notes on their corpses or anything like that. If you are dead, your contribution to the game is mostly over.

- Unless your role PM specifically states otherwise, no players are allowed to talk about their role, game plan, alignment, win condition or basically anything game related outside of the game thread. While mods can’t easily enforce this rule, any communication about the game outside of the game thread goes against the spirit of mafia games and spoils the game. Anyone caught doing this WILL be mod-killed. This is your only warning!

- All players should play to their role/alignment and play to win. While there are likely to be times that you have to do things against your best interest, any players who deliberately go against their win conditions risk being banned from future games for failing to play to their role and going against the spirit of the game.

- Players are only allowed to post their role title from their role PM, that is the bit that says you are “Convention Aligned Protector” or something similar. You can paraphrase things that your PM says but you are not allowed to directly quote anything else other than the role title from your PM, which is also the only thing players will see when you are dead. If the mods catch you posting anything that closely resembles what your role PM says then it will be grounds for a mod kill. You have been warned!

- In game “role bets” such as “I will never play again if…” is strictly prohibited. If you do this then you will at minimum be replaced as soon as possible, with a maximum penalty of a mod kill. It may also lead to a ban from future games, mods don’t want players who will bet on things outside their games in order to try and prove something in a game so just don’t do it.

- Talking to other dead players is also frowned upon, as many games have been known to feature a revive type ability or need to have players replaced. Talking to other players outside the game means that these abilities can’t be used properly and that you can’t be used as a replacement, which can still have an impact on the game in play. So don’t do it!

- When it comes to mafia games, nothing is ever as it seems. There can be things about your role that you don’t know about, other people can bluff about their abilities, people can lie, events can happen and write ups can be read in many different ways. If you have any questions about what is happening then you can get in contact with the mods (praguepride and Jackalbane) via PM, and if we can clarify anything for you then we will do what we can. But there are many reasons why we might not be able to, and in any such eventuality you will get a post simply stating the following - > :cool:

- Lastly, all mods reserve the right to decide who they prefer to have play their games. While "first come, first served" has been a common policy for deciding a player base there is no requirement for a mod to adhere to this policy, especially if they feel that adding different players would result in a more enjoyable game for all involved. Naturally, the reserve list will play home to any player who wants to play the game and doesn't make the cut.

-Talking about your role after death or to those who have died IS NOT allowed.

I reserve the right to mod kill if I find out that any of these rules have been broken. Please remember that you are not the only one playing this game, so don't ruin it for everyone else!

The mods for this game are praguepride and Jackalbane. All PMs regarding abilities, questions or anything else should be sent to us. If you fail to communicate your information then I will go on what I have. You have be warned!

With all this in mind, this is meant to be a fun game and it should be an enjoyable experience for all. Happy hunting!

You are Example Man, Convention Aligned Shining Example

You have one goal in your life, and that is to be the example for all others to look to. You do very important things. Your ability to is the the example role PM. For the purposes of this game, you will show the town an example of a basic townie role PM.

You win when all threats to town have been eliminated.

The young man in front of the camera shifts nervously as he ponders about what else to say. How do you top a diabolical laughter display?

"I'm working with a vocal coach, strengthening the HAAAs. Lotta guys ignore the laugh, and that's about standards, I mean, if you're going to get into the Evil League of Evil you have to have a memorable laugh..."

KA-ZAAAAAP

The camera rocks to the side and the young man jumps, so startled that the goggles slip off his head and over his eyes.

"What the? HEY, KEEP IT DOWN, I'M WORKING ON MY BLOG!""

To accentuate his point, he bangs the wall next to him...

The portal closed behind him, and an evil smile played across his face. He had entered a small apartment, and the apartment's lone occupant was so startled that his spikey blonde wig nearly fell off of his head. A look of rage flashed across his face at the audacity of his intruder. How dare HE, or anyone really, invade his home.

"What the hell do you think you're doing, man? Do you know who I am?"

The man glowered at the occupant, and from underneath his coat he pulled out a large laser gun.

"You're in my way, that's what you are."

"You think you can kill me!? YOU THINK YOU CAN KILL ME? I'M ALREADY...

The final words of Jackalbane were lost as the weapon discharges with a loud KA-ZAP, disintigrating the occupant into dust. From next door muffled shouting and banging on th walls just causes the killer to roll his eyes.

"This is going to be too easy...

With a flourish he dashes out the door.

Jackalbane is dead. He was Dead Bowie, Evil League of Evil Aligned Deceased Singing Sensation

The slightly rotund man hummed to himself as he strolled down the sidewalk. Everything was going as planned in this world that he had created. He sensed fame and recognition in his future, not that he needed any.

He turned down his favorite alley and hummed a few more bars when he was stopped by a group of people. He instantly recognized them as more of his creations.

"How goes it this fine and friendly day? I hope everything is going as planned, hmmm? Although you are a little early, you really don't need to be here until the 3rd act."

The group looked at him with anger, crowding around him.

"What happened to Dead Bowie? Who killed him?

The rotund man paused and closed his eyes, sending his consciousness out to all of his creation. He noticed something wrong...terribly wrong and he opened his eyes in a panic.

"No, he'll ruin everything! What is he doing here!"

"Who? Tell us now!

"I...I don't know! But something is wrong!"

"Well, if you can't tell us then you are of no more use to us!

One figure peeled away from the crowd and leveled an ordinary gun at the rotund man.

praguepride tried to cry out for help but all that was heard was the gunshot and then his body hitting the ground.

Pluss, Moonlit Tears looks scummy, but since she used white text to say I was scum, she's probably town. Which means I'm obliged to look after her, or kill her for giving me away in the first post of the game.... Let me go re-read what I'm supposed to do..

Well, here is my problem....

I've called Banger scum in two games that I was town in, and he was town also. I bassically did that so that scum wouldn't target him at night.... and they didn't. But our vigilante's did...

So I really don't know what to do with Banger, to keep him safe. I mean... if he's town that is, lol.:cool:

Hey, I bet if we just had everyone claim, we could be done in about an hour. :p

PP really had to stretch for the roles to this one. There's half as many named characters as their are players.

So, basically, my point is that if you have an actually notable character, you're probably important and should keep that to yourself. Some people will have to back up their claims by giving timestamps and telling everyone to look at a certain region of the screen... :p

That's my usual go-to on day one unless we get something solid.

I've always hated day one as there's nothing to go on so you can end up revealing/lynching a good townie role.

Ah, a bloodthirsty gambit, kvetching for a D1 lynch but not laying any votes down.

In my mind, there's less room for error in a short game. Even though the scum/town ratio should be about the same, fewer people mean fewer cycles, meaning each cycle has relatively greater impact. So acting on D1 can be a setback for the town or can really put the scum on their heels early.

So which is Destiny hoping for?

I just spent 40 minutes waiting for a Geek squad tech to get off the phone so I could get my computer. He only got off the phone AFTER the manager came over helped me. Perhaps they thought this was just a random act of violence and didn't realize the gravity of their situation.

He brushed off some lint and THEN everything was perfect, but how to get it in place without his victim realizing?

It might not be his usual kind of thing, but whatever, he didn't care. He was confident that he was always right, no matter how wrong he might appear to be. With a mighty THWACK he punched his target right in the nose, knocking them right out.

With a smirk he flashed a winning smile to the crowd and took a moment to make sure that his hair was absolutely perfect for the cameras.

Let the adulation begin!

"Today was a huge success. My newest invention, the Freeze Ray, worked like a charm. I was very nervous when I saw who was guarding the Priceless Gemerald but they didn't see me coming. One ZAP and it's a brand new day for villianhood. With this monumentous success I can't imagine that my invitation for the Evil League of Evil isn't on it's way shortly...

Any day now, ELE..."

His smile fades slightly but he shrugs it off. He had a great day and wouldn't let something minor like postal delays ruin it. He reached out and switched off the camera.

"Hey man, it's cool. If it's about Bait, I ended up going on a date with Switch instead! They performed the... well, you know, they tricked me. Again."

Yes, but there was the "Henchman Union", that was briefly mentioned (by Moist) when he says that Dr. Horrible has more than enough hours to join them rather than the ELE.

I'm guessing that's the alignment of Moist and probably Dr. Horrible right now...

There might also be some of the other briefly mentioned henchmen in there too?

I don't think so. In the canon he's a very reluctant killer - he only wants to killer Captain Hammer because he hates that guy with a passion. I expect another scummy role - inventor or some such.

Or maybe a developing role - if Penny gets killed he goes on a rampage.

From the tone of the write up this would seem to indicate either a member of the ELE or an sk or indy. I would guess either a framer or bus driver type of ability given the fact it indicates he is causing confusion or chaos. Also seems to have either a neatness or cleanliness obession.

Couple of possibilities here. Either this was a straight ahead ELE kill for the night, which seems most likely as there was only one kill, or it possibly was a recruitment attempt gone bad if in fact the Henchman aligned are a cult. Again, with only one kill, I think the first option is the most likely.

Well, given that we know there is Town and ELE from the initial write ups, Henchman aligned is either a second mafia, or a cult. Only other option is that Moist was an indy, and from what I know of the source material that doesn't really make sense. He'd either be aligned with Dr Horrible, or part of a secondary group ala the Henchmen.

Which kind of indicates either a superhero or a supervillan. Granted an SK could be dressed like either, but still the write up supports WC being an ELE kill, making Jaded's claim suspect.

Some of us have to work, ya'know. And I have contributed a bit; being my first game, I'm lurking and scoping a bit. I liked the first writeup...I wish I could have seen that Cap'n Hammer punch up close.

To me, it seems obvious that Moist was killed by someone evil aligned. I mean, he was obviously familiar with them, and spoke in a friendly manner prior to getting splashed. That says "Henchman", "ELE", or an independently aligned baddie of some sort.

I'll go ahead and vote: Jaded to keep things moving.

I was thinking about a delayed kill (Much like Kobe was in The Two's game.). That being said, nothing in the write-up supports that.

Well there is that first part of the write up where the one person is pleased with the chaos he caused, and speculation about the ELE does show one of the villians as a poisoner. Still, I don't see a kill that takes two phases be a replacement for their normal kill. If anything it might be an additional kill or incapacitation ability.

So, assuming the standard SK, and probably one Mafia group, there should normally be two kills a night. If Jaded's info is correct, WC's kill was an SK, which means the mafia killer was either roleblocked, or diverted somehow. Or he hit a bulletproof person. I was thinking about a delayed kill (Much like Kobe was in The Two's game.). That being said, nothing in the write-up supports that.

Well there is that first part of the write up where the one person is pleased with the chaos he caused, and speculation about the ELE does show one of the villians as a poisoner. Still, I don't see a kill that takes two phases be a replacement for their normal kill. If anything it might be an additional kill or incapacitation ability.

So, assuming the standard SK, and probably one Mafia group, there should normally be two kills a night. If Jaded's info is correct, WC's kill was an SK, which means the mafia killer was either roleblocked, or diverted somehow. Or he hit a bulletproof person. But I don't see anything indicated in the write up that would show that. Unless Dr Horrible somehow roleblocked them. His write up did say his freeze ray was a success, and the most obvious use for that is silencing or roleblocking.

We have a kill that was done by someone other then ELE. Dr. Horrible is not in ELE right now, I doubt... and I really doubt Henchman would kill their own. So it wasn't them either.

My opinion, is if there was supposed to be another kill (and it's speculation), and we can agree that was an SK that killed last night. I think this because well, it looks like they obviously knew each other (WC is worried till he see's who it is)... and I seriously doubt the other group would kill their own...

I believe Bluestar would have been the killer... There is no recognition there, only a splat to the face. Nice pick in my opinion.

Taker's been quiet actually (one of the other people you voted for, besides Jaded and our mod----- see, someone notices:), but I can't help to think that our attention isn't on what is right in front of our face in the write up.

I'm pretty sure, both from the source material, and also from the role title, that WC was already in the Henchmen. More likely that they are a cult group that can recruit, and not that WC was being recruited.

That's what I believe as well. I also don't believe Dr. Horrible killed last night, and we know that the ELE didn't kill either. Henchmen wouldn't kill their own, So that means we have an indie killer last night, and no actual mafia type kill...

I don't believe a mafia team would NOT kill if they could each and every night... and I really doubt a scum team would be hampered into not being able to kill every night... meaning they tried but couldn't.

The only person left is Bluestar, unless ELE are the cult like (possible, people trying to join them, etc) and Henchmen are the actual team, then it's possible our SK killed the Henchmen's Killer before he could kill...

Otherwise to me, all evidence points to Bluestar being the one that was trying to kill but got punched in the face before he could.

Well that has not stopped us in the past see Prague and Waghlon in Invader Zim. We lynched them both when they were silenced.

Yes he did. I'm more sure that this role is actually in this game this time around though, so I think it would be easy to figure out if he's lieing...
