Your first game

Simple as it sounds - when you get 08, what will your first game be? I'm hoping to have made MAW National, maybe even International by the time 08's released, so I might have to play with the data to reflect that. Alternatively, I might go back to playing MAW from where they are at that time.

So, what will you do?

If Europe's indeed reworked, I'll start a game with UCR. Given the segments are probably changed and the interface is better, I'd always loved to play with entertainment promotions.

If not, 5SSW, PGHW or NOTBPW like always.

Can't say I know yet. Would depend on how much Adam gives us organization wise this time out. If we get an 04 level of organization tools, I may start out at the top this time. It's been a while since I felt comfortable juggling all the show time and talent a big time promotion has. If organization is closer to current form, I'll probably stay at the bottom and try to develop people. That seems to be where I have the most fun these days when I'm playing the game.

Oh and if there's one promotion, I've really wanted to try it's UCR. But with their many cartoony default gimmicks, the company kind puts me off. I find myself wondering if I'm supposed to be booking a wrestling show or a live-action superhero series. I'll want to see what they do if anything to alter that problem before picking them.

well if there are any new feds test them out. if mexico is redone like japan do a fed there *never ran a fed south of the boarder* might test out some of the big ones to see what has changed also.

Either MAW or NYCW are my usual starting promotions as they are small enough to easily manage and at one show a month, playing them a while gives you a good feel for how the game world will play out over a couple of years.

Going to be boring and say ROF, I imagine. I can't be bothered with angles and like playing the British scene so I will likely start over again with them. May try something like CZCW for a change and a slightly different product type.

I voted for working my way up. For my first game, I'll probably pick a promotion from the New Promotions file and create it, (might do a little editing work to give me some of the wrestlers I'd want in my promotion), and try to build it up. Of course, like always, I'll work out 'my own personal CornellVerse', which is really just the basic CornellVerse as it is, edited to my liking.

You can't convert save games, only databases.

If I get TEW 2k8 (I'm really enjoying my 2007 game, so I don't know if I'll bother with the new system yet), I'llprobably go with 4C. I've really gelled with them in 2007, although it depends who's where (4C without Joey Poison, Air Attack Weasel or Jacob Jett is far less interesting).

To all the people who aren't sure about getting 2k8 because they're into their 2k7 games, remember, you can play two games... WWE: Rebirth (Award winning Diary :D, cheap plug) is played off 2k5, but I spend most of my time on 2k7, although Rebirth is still my primary game...
Just a thought, I know people have HDD issues, and money and such.

I'll keep grinding away with one of the UK promotions in an attempt to take them all the way to the top, especially if a few more promising talents are injected into the British wrestling scene and/or talents from abroad can be hired in...

Failing that, setup my own and run the other UK feds into bankruptcy (insert evil laugh here)

Then I'll start LFC over, this time in Japan or Mexico, and build it into a global powerhouse.
