There's been a lot of people saying that they would like lifetime contracts removed from promotions like NOTBPW, on account of they don't feel it accurately reflects real-life promotions, they want to be able to sign some of the Stones, etc. To go along with this, I really think there needs to be some tweaking to the "blood relative" relationship. I always thought it was odd that the game assumed that all wrestling families have great relationships. I think having something like "blood relative-estranged" would really be necessary for people looking to see some of the big changes to the game-world that they would like.

Indeed. We might expect to see a change in the Stone family for instance. There has been speculation that Edd might leave, etc. Aside from that, it will never happen in the game. The Stones thing is a sense of security you shouldn't have in the game. I suspended that prick Edd Stone for not showing up multiple times and he hates me now. Do I care?... Of course not. What is he gonna do? Leave his family? He might irl, but he'll never do it in the game because his lifetime contract.

But like you say, it's currently impossible (I think) for a hate relation to appear between brothers (though irl it would seem more unlikely it'd happen)

Or what about couples who split up, but stay friends?
Perhaps the ability to have multiple relationships, so they could be both Related and Hate each other, or Divorced, and still Close Friends.

I wonder if the proper tweak is one already available -- instead of a lifetime contract, use a written contract with loyalty? This would still establish the "family tie" while allowing for the possibility that it would be possible (even if not likely) that you could coax the player away or that if you completely screw over the worker they could still leave.

i like this idea i always hate how a family member hates each other but has no reference to them being family...

completely agree, especially about the blood relative thing. Look at Dynamite Kid and British Bulldogg as an example. Unless im wrong they were cousins and ended up hating each other. Would never see this in game though.

yea, I don't think it should be super common or anything, but I would think there would be a way of programming it so that the odds of that relationship generating would be much less than the other ones.

yea it couldn't happen alot but it should happen once in a while

I've said this forever, lifetime contracts should be reserved for owners and key key people in the promotion.. why completely write off all the possible game world shakeups? "Duane Stone leaves NOTBPW, signs with SWF!".. crap like that.

Boo to to many lifetime contracts.. boo.

Plus the current system is not very consistent. The main example I can think of is Sam Strong's daughter not auto-signing with USPW. I mean, her dad is the Owner so according to CGC, NOTBPW, SWF etc. she should auto-start with a lifetime contract with USPW

Or Jay Chord should with MAW, or the baby Cornell and TCW

It's not guaranteed - the Stones went down that route, but a number of them have worked elsewhere, I believe. Didn't Dan Stone work in Japan?

It's also a two-way thing. Workers have to want to sign with a company. My MAW went right after Jay Chord when he debuted, but he turned down the chance to sign with us.

I'm sure that there are examples in the real world of family members not always working together. Look at the way the Von Erichs spread out - they may have worked mainly in WCCW, but they toured elsewhere as well.

I'd be interested to know a little more of the NOTBPW back story - perhaps the boys signed on after a grounding period out in the real world? I'm sure the Harts, as the most well known wrestling family, did the same - I've seen several matches with one or more of them getting pounded in the old Missouri territories etc.

To be blunt, that's why there's an editor supplied! You think there are too many lifetime contracts? That's fine with me. However, I disagree, and as it's my database, I'm going to release it with my settings. It would take a matter of minutes for you to change it to the way you like, and both sides are happy.

Having just finished reading Hitman, Bret himself says that his travels were talent trades between his father and the booker he went to work for. This is entirely possible in the game.

And Duane Stone did work in Japan. Awesome matches with Optimus, I believe it was.

I would love to see some new relationships added to the game, most specifically the one where a couple split up by remain friends.
