From the WFL website, Blurcat.com's official preview of WFL 1:

Mecedes Lopez vs. Phoenix Strong (WFL Heavyweight Title)

Mecedes Lopez (0-0) takes on Phoenix Strong (0-0) for the WFL Heavyweight Title in the main event. This is a 'dream match' for most fans, pitting two fighters with extremely big reputations against each other. Both Lopez and Strong are desperate for a win, as neither is coming into the fight with much in the way of momentum.

Neither fighter has a particularly strong advantage over the other when standing or on the ground, so the fight could end up being decided on a single moment of inspiration, madness, or luck.

Blurcat's Prediction: Mecedes Lopez via T.K.O.

Yong Lee vs. Mai Ishii (WFL Lightweight Title)

Yong Lee (0-0) fights Mai Ishii (0-0) for the WFL Lightweight Title. This is a 'dream match' for most fans, pitting two fighters with extremely big reputations against each other. Both Lee and Ishii are desperate for a win, as neither is coming into the fight with much in the way of momentum.

The match is likely to begin with some tentative striking, with the fighters feeling each other out - most people would say that they are fairly evenly matched when it comes to trading blows, but they'll both still be keen to test out their opponent early on. If it goes to the ground that Lee will be worried, as she is at a clear disadvantage if she gets taken down, as Ishii will see it as the perfect place to work some submissions.

Blurcat's Prediction: Mai Ishii via submission.

Amanda Daniels vs. Diva Sanchez

Amanda Daniels (0-0) vs. Diva Sanchez (0-0). This is a dream match, as two of the top fighters in the world compete against each other. Both Daniels and Sanchez are desperate for a win, as neither is coming into the fight with much in the way of momentum.

If the match goes to the ground we could be in for a long night, as neither fighter has a clear advantage down there, so Sanchez will almost certainly try and take advantage of her greater striking ability by keeping the fight upright.

Blurcat's Prediction: Diva Sanchez via T.K.O.

Anika Riley vs. Loni Lee

Anika Riley (0-0) goes against Loni Lee (0-0). This is a huge match, as we're seeing two of the best around go toe-to-toe. Both Riley and Lee will be desperate for a win, as neither is coming into the fight with much in the way of momentum.

The match is likely to begin with some tentative striking, with the fighters feeling each other out - most people would say that they are fairly evenly matched when it comes to trading blows, but they'll both still be keen to test out their opponent early on. Blurcat's Prediction: Loni Lee via submission.

Debbie Clayton vs. Helena Ruthledge

Debbie Clayton (0-0) takes on Helena Ruthledge (0-0). We have two fighters with huge reputations, putting it all on the line - a meeting that will hopefully result in a memorable, dramatic bout. Both Clayton and Ruthledge will be desperate for a win, as neither is coming into the fight with much in the way of momentum.

The key of this match seems to be in the tactics of Clayton. If she wants to keep the match upright, it could develop into a good battle between two evenly matched competitors. However, if she takes it to the ground, she is clearly the more dangerous fighter. Therefore the match may come down to just how much Clayton is willing to gamble to get the fight onto the ground.

Blurcat's Prediction: Debbie Clayton via submission.

Christine Jameson vs. Umeka Fujiwara

Christine Jameson (2-0) fights Umeka Fujjiwara (2-0). Both Jameson and Fujiwara come into this contest proudly possessing winning streaks, the fact that one of them will have that streak ended tonight adds spice to the fight.

Neither fighter has a particularly strong advantage over the other when standing or on the ground, but Fujiwara is the better athlete, which could give her the necessary edge to come on strong in the latter rounds.

Blurcat's Prediction: Umeka Fujiwara via T.K.O.
