Something that I've always wanted to see in a TEW game is how commercials effect your show. What I mean is, say you're booking RAW, which has 2-hours to play with. The game will place in a set amount of commercials in different areas throughout the show. For example:

TV TIME
---|||-----|||----||---|||-----||-----|||----||---

The dashes (-) indicate when the show is on the air and the vertical lines (|) indicate when there is a commercial break. This way you can use the downtime to fire t-shirts into the crowd, have little segments for different wrestlers to get them more heat or more over with the crowd prior to an upcoming match, or maybe even just having some crowd cool-down time for the break.

As you book, it would place the segments on the TV TIME bar, showing you when your show is going to go to commercial. This can also help with matches, as you could have your road agents have "commercial break rules" for the matches, such as using a rest hold during the break, or hitting a big spot prior to the break so there is some downtime.

I think that this could add some real depth to booking for TV, as right now booking WWE is very difficult at times, having to have an excruciating number of angles or extra long matches at times to fill time in. I think this will make it much more realistic as well.

Just a suggestion, what does everyone else think?

Proof or speculation?

You haven't really articulated what this will change. Okay, booking a sports entertainment fed can be a pain, but will this change anything? You talk about extra long matches and useless angles, but isn't that what WWE does to fill up the commercial breaks? What are you proposing should happen? Should only "TV time" stats be considered? What about the time in the middle of an extra long match?

And doesn't the inclusion of commercial breaks, especially if you could control the length and timing of the break (as a company like WWE does), only make it MORE of a pain to book?

My advice: just throw in two minute video packages, t-shirt firings, or whatever else you want to do and say it's only for the benefit of the live crowd, and don't mention it in a diary. Then, if you're doing a diary, put the commercials where they make sense- in the middle of a long match, in between matches, after every fifteen minutes- whatever.

You can do that now.

This idea gets brought up ever 8 days. It's not a good one and doesn't add any playability to the game. In fact, it makes it even MORE tedious to book a show. Create some angles that are "commercials" and plug them in if you want to do that.
