I'm sorry if someone already suggested this but I think it would be an interesting idea that instead of always going out to look for talent...workers (wrestlers, announcers, refs etc.) and send a message to you (owner of promotion) asking for a tryout etc.

I've always wanted to see that to some degree too. I wouldn't expect a ton of people constantly contacting me, but it would be nice every now and again, and perhaps with a feature like that you could have a contest like WWE diva search, where you'd get applicates for things like that, or like a tough enough type thing.
