I'll be amazed if that place isn't heavily monitored and talk about anything but WWE isn't thrown out before a couple weeks go by.

Don't really know what the point of this is, and I think it'll do more for TNA and Indies than for WWE. Well, good then.

In case you were effected, seems the forums went a bit berserk.
Spring Cleaning at Fan Nation
Sunday, April 20, 2008, 03:38 PM EST [WWE]

So, have you visited the Forums lately? Thought so...

First, thank you to the more than 4,000 new WWE Fan Nation members that joined our new online community, eager to participate in debate and discussion with fellow fans from around the world. They've created new fan groups, written excellent blog posts and participated in animated Forums discussion threads. We at Fan Nation thank you all for the great start. Please keep up the great work!

However...yesterday, we experienced a coordinated attack from (what was claimed to be) a competing wrestling forum community that wreaked havoc on our Forums, filling them with spam and other vile diatribes.

Thank you to all of the WWE Fan Nation users that filed Abuse Reports quickly on those 100 or so user accounts created Saturday with the specific purpose of ruining the rapidly growing Fan Nation community. The moderation team has temporarily frozen the Forums section, and is currently scrubbing the section clean of all "graffiti" left by the attackers. We hope the Forums will be ready to return before Backlash.

They will also be banning all the user accounts that participated in said activity. We will not be issuing warnings or suspensions. Sorry, but martial law is in effect as of now.

We are in the process of adding new security to the site, to help prevent further violations of WWE.com's Terms of Usage, and to keep the Forums a friendly place to play. More on those details to come.

Until then, you stay classy Fan Nation. Keep your eyes peeled on photos and blogs for inappropriate material, and file Abuse Reports on such items to alert moderators. We'll continue to grow, and will overcome this early attempt to ruin the soon-to-be largest WWE community on the Internet.

Thanks, enjoy King of the Ring tomorrow night on Raw!

Haha, GameFAQs PWB strikes again!

I wasn't part of it, but they've done a bunch of stuff, like the Saxon = Joke Account signs at events, and several fad questions making it through to Bite This! (and sadly the cancellation of said show).

Terrible forums, GameFAQs. I remember a thread that got to 500 posts where a guy was saying that WWE wrestling is real (but TNA is still fake). And everyone was arguing. It was pretty hilarious.

Man arrested following malicious attack on pro wrestling website
Tuesday, 22 April 2008 16:58

A Dublin man has been detained in accordance with the Communications Regulation Act 2002 after an alleged malicious attack on the website of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), the leading professional wrestling company based in the US.

The attacks are reported to have taken place over a period of two days last weekend. The newly created WWE Fan Nation Forum was the subject of the attack.

A WWE spokesman told RTÉ that the attacks on the forum consisted of "lewd and vile diatribes" aimed at WWE and its global fanbase. It is understood that many users were involved in the attacks but so far only one person has been charged.

WWE spokesman Gary Davis said, "certain postings made on the WWE Fan Nation Forum were unacceptable and against the rules set down by WWE. The users who made these postings have been traced and their information has been forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agencies."

Mr Davis also added that WWE believe that although many of the rogue users acted independently, a certain number of them coordinated their attacks through a rival wrestling fan forum, believed to be Figure Four Online. Some form of legal action is expected to take place before the end of the week.

The postings that have created this controversy are understood to have been pornographic in nature. This is a huge concern to WWE, whose fanbase largely consists of young children.

The man arrested, known only as Dave Anchorking, is believed to be a resident of the Blanchardstown area of Dublin. Efforts made to contact the man's family were unsuccessful.

Indeed. I basically go there just to get to-the-minute updates on shows, since they don't air for 2-5 days later here, and I hate all wrestling "news" sites. Still, occasionally a hilarious topic will spring up.

Hmm, Figure 4 Online was responsible for this one? Interesting.

I was looking through their Terms & Conditions to check if there's anything in the rules about posting about or promoting rival wrestling promotions. It appears there is not. But I did see this, which is quite interesting.

By submitting any Submission, whether solicited by us or not, you are automatically granting WWE an ownership right and a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, unrestricted, worldwide and irrevocable right and license to sell, rent, transfer, sub-license, use, reproduce, modify, publish, translate, prepare derivative works based upon, distribute, perform, display or otherwise utilize such Submissions, in whole or in part, in any form, media or technology known or hereafter developed for any purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotional purposes (collectively, "Rights").

That news story can't be for real. It boggles the mind on so many levels. From the illegality of being a douche on the internet now to the fact WWE forums being attacked with pornography is somehow a concern to a company which has brought us more filth and sleaze than just about all the porn in the world.

Did find it funny that the man arrested is from Blanchardstown though. Tully must be involved somehow.

Well, WWE has a habit of magically taking the ideas of my group anyway (Mordecai was basically the literal version of Minister Whitey, Colin Delaney is 90% Uncle Porker, and so many more lost things over the years) so I might as well get active with my Luther "Title" Reigns account, see if I can't convince them to re-sign him for a good push.

I swear TNA has been watching the ETWA lately or we have a spy in our ranks.

Holy crap it's been creeping me out the last couple months.

First I come up with an idea on how hilarious it would be if Rellik had a t-shirt made, and then went by a mirror in the back... and became completely astonished to learn what his name meant. Then on April Fool's Day TNA posts a fake story on how Rellik stumbled upon what his name meant.

The original concept for my Power Ranger gimmick was for me as AJ Starr to "be injured" and work the announce position for a while. Then when it was time for Green Ranger to compete... I would excuse myself, run downstairs and change... wrestle... run back down and come back to the announce booth sweating my ass off and gasping for breath and coming up with lame excuses.

Now we have Super Eric in TNA, and done very poorly.

We have a manager who in real life copyrighted a wrestling company name... the storyline is he constantly brags about how he's got ETWA wrestlers ready to sign for him... and a few months after the first person defected... TNA has the X-Division traitor Johnny Devine.

Last year we also tried to lobby for several useless Titles to be merged into one and nominated Spud for the job... finish it up with a big ETWA World Title Match in which he loses but his Title/s aren't on the line... then Joe vs. Angle happened for all the TNA Titles.

Coincidences... most likely... but still creepy.

In addition to all that, any momotard who gets busted for a DDoS attack, is an idiot, by and large. Folks don't realize that there are outfits that do this professionally (many based in China, with one that I know of in Taiwan, one in Russia (with mob connections), and three in Canada). Like hiring a cyber hitman, given how much damage a really good DDoS attack can cause.

Kinda dumb to hit up a site like WWE with such a low level amount of traffic. Sounds like a prank but I dunno how it is in the UK but here in the states, that prank can get you 5 to 10, federal time (per count, technically).
