And yet here you are in the open saying "hey, guess who's got the gems? ME!". Seriously, you couldn't have kept it a little bit quieter?

I don't disagree that they've revealed more than is safe, but to be fair, the opening deaths give away the location of the gems as far as that goes. I doubt we're lucky enough to be in a situation where none of the villians will read the opening death write up and not make that connection.

I'm only about 12 pages through, but I'm thinking people shouldn't be saying if they're Green or Blue out loud. If it has some sort of bearing on recruiting, you're just making things easier for the scum. Then again, I bet some of you disloyal bastards want to join a cult!

Now, while I think the idea to play it off like the town was green, was BRILLIANT, to let people conversate about it.

If you'll notice, even I commented on it to try and keep the conversation going and see if anyone else would hop into that discussion. Surely they all wouldn't be green townies.(Why the heck did NOBODY question me about that? Did EVERYONE miss that one?)

It really didn't work out very well.

Agreed. My only point was that once they revealed the color of their alignment it wasn't really a secret anymore that they would have two of the gems. Just seemed to me that the criticism was perhaps placed in the wrong area.

Yeah, I can see how that could have been useful. But given the seeming importance of their roles it was fairly risky. But then, I'm cautious like that.

At any rate, it shouldn't have been both of them.

They never should've triggered the trap so fast. Had they let it go for a while, and people played like the town was actually green, there's no telling who would've actually fallen for that. I mean, I know NickC's not in the game...but...yea. Surely there's more than one, right?

English, Autralian, New Zealand... probably Irish and Scottish as well... essentially everywhere outside of the North American continent that speaks English natively as far as I'm aware.

granted, but the letter still has no bearing on the pronunciation of the word.

I'm not even sure how i would phnetically spell the word to include a long "U" sound.

Its just one of those things ive never really got.

There is always someone that treats Internet forums as a place to show their spelling B contest skills. I figure that will give them plenty to show off with. I just know that at least 98% of my posts have some sort of a typing error of some sort in them. Ive resigned to the fact that my fingers tend to move faster then my brain, which leads to really bad typos...

Which when i actually catch, i try and quote and fix.. but sometimes there are just so many....

And as for the ColoUr comments, they were all in jest, and i hope you all realised that.

With 36 players it is 19 to Lynch.

The way I look at it, you either are who you say you are (in which case you'll die in the first night phase) or you're lying to protect someone else (in which case you might be dead in the first night phase) or you're lying to keep from getting lynched (in which case you could die in the first night phase or be lynched later on).

If you've got a gem, and if gems are distributed randomly to lynch voters, then it would benefit the town to string you up so that we've got a something-in-nineteen chance of the gem ending up in mafia hands instead of a 100% chance of it happening. But if gems are given to the "hammer" voter or distributed in some other way, I'll admit my idea is a bad one. Either way, any one gem could be more important than any one town member.

Surely we have protectors and watchers and such that can be used to help protect the gems. It's not an ideal situation, but it's what we've got. Seems to me that it's a might better than purposefully killing two townies.

The way I look at it, you either are who you say you are (in which case you'll die in the first night phase) or you're lying to protect someone else (in which case you might be dead in the first night phase) or you're lying to keep from getting lynched (in which case you could die in the first night phase or be lynched later on).

If you've got a gem, and if gems are distributed randomly to lynch voters, then it would benefit the town to string you up so that we've got a something-in-nineteen chance of the gem ending up in mafia hands instead of a 100% chance of it happening. But if gems are given to the "hammer" voter or distributed in some other way, I'll admit my idea is a bad one. Either way, any one gem could be more important than any one town member.

I don't think I've ever seen anybody use so many IFs and still manage to come to a certain conclusion. Congratulations, Mr. Unwavering Self-Doubt.

I AM who I say I am.... And I don't see how that guarantees my death. It guarantees that I'm a target, but is it really a stretch to say that there are protectors around?

Either way, we still have plenty of time to think things through.

Caught up, with only 5 minutes til I need to leave for work. I have to agree with a number of people and say that it looks like the town has been put in a bad spot already BUT also that since they are outed then they can speak o behalf of their group. It'd be pretty lame if Akki/midnight had something that seems to be so important and no skills of their own to back them up with. And since they are likely to be be protected too, they should theoretically be in a strong position now. At least that's the way I read it.

I'm not going to vote on anyone, no-one screams out scum to me yet and everyone probably knows my stance on opening day bandwagons by now. I don't like doing anything without a little evidence to back it up, and not knowing about Marvel isn't evidence... otherwise I'd be strung up pretty damn quickly just for being a n00b. :p

Sometimes an action that seems bad at first will actually be better in the long run. It all depends on which point of view you take. If you take the point of view Akki and Nick have it's a bad option to kill them, if you take the Gem hunter's view it's a bad option as well as then he won't know who has the gems. If you take the point of view from the 'I-want-to-win-this-game townie' (I know this is hard to imagine for you :D) it's actually best to keep the place of the gems hidden at all cost except if you're absolutely certain there are 2 protectors that are willing to follow orders.

Wish I had been able to get back on last night now :rolleyes: Haven't read all of it yet... going to take a break and then come back to finish it off, though I expect I'll fall behind again soon because GTA came out today and I'm getting it in a couple of hours... and there's the football tonight... I'll be fine just don't go doing too much talking.

Anywho, a few interesting happenings in what I've read so far, though just to warn you a lot of the in-depth Marvel discussions will go over my head for the entire game because I'm not really a comic person but superheroes can do cool things... and I figured Rev and Anti would put together a good game, so I joined anyway. Basically, don't shout at me if I seem stupid :o Most of my Superhero knowledge comes from films, with a little bit from TV shows... and even then, I only really know Spiderman, X-Men and Hulk... unless somehow Batman managed to sneak in without anyone noticing! :p

Because there are so many interesting things going on day one...

It might be day one and someone has to die, but if it's all in the same, I'd like to at least hear from the person before I vote for them (though the longer the wait, the higher the probability I am going to vote to make sure there isn't a no lynch situation).

Wow, since I got up this morning there's only been about 5 pages of stuff to read and catch up on between bouts of frantically looking for somewhere to live. Thanks guys. :)

Day phase 1 always inspires me to try and come up with something more interesting to do with the start of my own mafia games. There's just something about the constant back and forth, early roleclaims and blind bandwagons that just doesn't inspire me in any way, shape or form. So when it comes round to my next game (ETA: forever + 1 day) then you might have something more useful to do than... what has happened here so far. :(

For some reason I still believe him. Something feels weird about this. You guys say Emma Frost has to be in the game, right? Then wouldn't she come forward if he makes fake claims like this?
