2/3rds + 1 + ability to nullify one vote.

How so?

What is 2/3rds +1 for five people?

theoutlaw321
05-28-2008, 01:44 AM
[QUOTE=theoutlaw321;429162]10 left. Would have taken 9 to lynch me.

You lynch jb.
I kill one.

8 left.
7 to lynch me. Even if you figured out that dj was scum and lynched him.
I kill one.

6 left. 5 to lynch me. (2/3 = 4/6+1 = 5/6)
Lynch. Town wins.

Entirely Possible.

Mine is right.

Oh yeah... Forgot your vote. Damn that gauntlet made you powerful!

Buuuuuuuut.... What if they pulled a Star Wars and got ya while you were at work... It's happened before.... Not that I would want the game to have been dragged out nor did I have any faith in the remaining townies to even put together the dj lynch.... but it was mathematically possible.

djthefunkchris

He could "Nullify" a vote as well. So it's pretty much no way the town could lynch him... and now that he was unkillable at night, and unstopable.

We could have dragged it out, and possibly got me and JB lynched, probably would have got Sprinkle though, in my opinion.

Still would have come down to Thanos winning though, no matter what outcome.

The key was the night we offed you and ier. And keeping jb from getting lynched the next day. So that we had 2 kills that night.

Doubtfull that same mistake will be made again.

Although some know what happened, other's just "think" they know, and even you obviously don't know exactly what happened there.

yes indeed. But really, once you had the gauntlet the towns chances were low.

I know quite a bit. The only thing I think I could not know is if Crychon would have asked for James Casey's vote to be moved immediately at the start of the day phase (which seems to be a justifiable request, it's not like everyone can be at the computer 24/7 so it's reasonable to have standing orders) and i effin rule didn't honor it or something.

I will say, getting rid of you and IER is what bassically did the trick for us... in more then just one way (Number's obviously). You two were the only one's stepping up to lead the town. nZane I would like to say could have, but I changed my mind when he said he was "waiting" on purpose, far as going after people... His answer to my question about his strategy on going after people (in the thread), was something like "Well, It's the way I mean to be. I know some of you are good talker's, so I just make a point here and there." or something like that.

Anyways, it made me feel secure he wouldn't try to lead the town on well... anything. As it takes someone to go after people within' the same hour (at least). Remember the "Alright, Gloves are off!..........." thing? He said what was on his mind, I answered (very little), and that was all their was to it.

I knew if you felt that way about me, you would keep on, and I might slip, or someone else might. So we aggreed on the forum that you and IER were bassically the "leader's". Only difference was I wanted to use that busdriver thing to have Blue take someone out too... Which would have been totally funny (for me anyways).

It was a missunderstanding, on our part. It was understood as to why it was missunderstood "after" the fact. It's one of those things that makes you go "hmm" (on everyone's part).

No doubt about that. I think my last post in the thread said, "so, we're going to lynch outlaw, then j_bergey, and then of course djthefunkchris" with "just kidding" in white text, even though it probably would have been the next move had we not won then.

Would either of us been able to swing a j_bergey lynch after being unable to get outlaw? I kind of doubt it, it probably would have taken a day and a half to get the first majority.

I know what you mean. In fact, it's exactly like the situation here- victory was out of the town's hands. Should the game have been called? I think so, but it's just a game anyway, and to me it still feels like a game we won, records be damned.

The back-up plan, at least to me was... To mystify everyone on how many votes it took to lynch Outlaw (since he really couldn't be lynched without mine or Jb's vote on it). Hopefully taking so long that there was no way to be able to get a majority vote for JB (or me for that matter).

IF, At any point I thought JB was going to be lynched, I was going to "slip" a bit. JB going after Outlaw in the thread so hard, when lynch votes was on him, helped tremendously confuse people I think. That was so good, I almost voted for Outlaw myself, LOL.

I figured as much. But I would have been all over any "slip-ups" at that point, I just honestly doubt that we could have brought 2 people to the lynch majority during a day phase, unless one of you three decided to help.

I think it was around the time I had to fight you for the Moe Hunter lynch over the Arrows lynch that I wondered if something was up with you. Now that I look back I can't believe I didn't press harder when you came back. You said those who know Daredevil would know why, and none of our comic book "experts" opposed it, so at that point I guessed it had to have been legit.

Epilogue:

Above Earth

He sat aboard his space station and watched his plan unfold; first he'd watch the City burn. The city which housed so many of their kind. Next their country, continent, everything until finally the entire planet was ablaze. Until, he'd have enough souls, to appease, her.

If they only knew, this entire event was brought about by love. A dark twisted love, yes; but love nonetheless. Love, the one thing the people of this planet seemed to need above all else. But what did it mean to love, he, still was uncertain of this. Power, nothing, those had always been his desires, yet, a new one had found him. He had found another, with the same demented sensibilities, one that required, no, demanded, a collection of souls before her.

He looked down at the Gems, glowing in the gauntlet in his hand. He smiled, knowing he had assembled the tool that would allow him to provide the quantity of souls he would need. Lost in thought, he pondered, just how long he'd need to wipe out this planet and extinct the human race; when suddenly a cold chill went up his spine.

"I know you're here.

I brought this for you" he stated motioning to the monitor, which was displaying the result of his handiwork.

The other being glanced at the monitor, and then back to he, who pursued her so strongly.

"I've seen, and it's a nice...start, indeed."

He flashed a devilish grin, expecting such an answer.

Finally, raising his gaze to meet hers;

"My mistress, all this is just the beginning, before long you'll have entire civilizations and planets worth of souls at your feet. Before long the galaxy will cower, at the death and destruction I'll bring to it.

All of it serving one single purpose.

All of it, for you."

“They won’t back down so easily you know, these earthlings with their powers. Even now they are preparing to fight you.”

“Mere formalities...”

It was her turn to smile now, as she removed her hood revealing her striking yet terrifying face. The skulls in her eyes were ablaze as she thought about the feast of souls she’ll soon have.

“I figured as much.

Well then, shall we start?”

The Moon

For billions of years he and his kind had vowed to watch over the galaxy in observation. They had attempted to help the less advanced beings once before, only to see it end in ruin. Since then, they adhered to a strict code of non-interference.

He however, did not always abide by this code. He had chosen earth billions of years ago and for much of that time sat idly by, merely observing. However, in recent times he has reached out to help guide these extrodanary beings. He helped when the world-devourer came and decided that earth would be his next feast, and has been there to help guide earth in it’s plight countless times since.

Now he would provide his guidance to the planet by alerting the Saviour of Worlds to Earths newest plight.

“He” arrived at the Blue Area of the moon, unaware of the events which had just come to pass on earth. However, knowing whom he had been summoned by, there could be no denial of the importance of this meeting.

“Thank you for coming.

I imagine word has not reached you about what has happened here?”

“No, but I imagine if you are the one alerting me, then the consequences must be dire.”

“Indeed.

It seems one of your former watchmen has assembled the soul gems and reforged the gauntlet. I trust no more needs to be said about the significance of said actions.”

“Thanos.”

“Of course.”

“And he was successful? The Gauntlet has been re-forged? Then all may already be lost.”

“Giving up so easily?”

“Of course not. I and the Watch will take up this fight…”

“Well, most of the watch.”

“What do you mean?

……

So, she’s joined him as well. No matter, as hopeless as the task may be, we must still fight.”

“I imagined no less. However, I’ve alerted another to your cause. He arrived shortly before you.”

As the words were spoken the mechanical wall behind the pair slid back revealing the large man, clad in red and blue, the gold star on his chest shining with a blinding light.

“You?

I thought you were dead?!”

“No, not yet.

But I understand my services may be in need.”

LOL, I thought of that very real possibility, then I remembered who was Thanos, and already knew that no matter what he would have made sure that his PM came in at the very end of the night phase so that he would be around come day phase. Hell, he was doing it already throughout this game and that was without the stakes as they were.

In the end I thought it better to not drag the game out for 5 more day phases. That just doesn't sound like fun for anyone, well aside maybe dj, outlaw, and the rest of the Titans who were having fun with Sprinkle on the last day :p

Heh, guess who told him to say that? Resident comic expert here. My explanation if needed was that The Chaste resurrected him.

I told you. I am Drax!
Well, I understand that conclusion to be about Uatu (The Watcher) Adam Warlock (the guy talking in Green) and Captain Marvel (Purple).

Drax may well be counted in the members of the Watch, but he wasn't present there. Your claim is still solid, you haven't been seen elsewhere! :P

I saw this too. However, my concern was Thanos' win condition being simply to get all the gems. I was surprised the Titans had 3 members left, to be honest. If the post-me town had even gone for the sure thing and lynched jbergey, which should have probably been the course of action failing a sure Thanos lynch, your 2/3 plus 1 ratio would have been near impossible to attain with only 1 kill, even if they mislynched sprinkle. The town could have done a lot to win even after outlaw got all those gems. I think after i effin and myself were gone, there really were no townies there to take the reins. It was brutal watching that last day, because you three scum played it masterfully.

I think I did the best I could though...but I've noticed that in some games (especially on the same side), we think alike. E-ville, for example. This one as well.

I didn't go for Jbergey because of a Star Wars flashback, where I wanted to lynch the recruited Masterded. I kept going after outlaw again and again, which was good until the last day.

Like I said, great game by mafia.
