Oh god, when I first saw the request for this my reaction was very doubtful that it was even possible so almost fell off my chair when I saw it as your avatar in another post.

Such an A* grade of lucha render. Mexico is certainly bristling with hidden talent this year.

I love the luchador alts you are doing Jlant!! I am totally going to use the ones for the Asesinos and El Bestia Purpura in my MHW Diary.

Now if you could spice up Championa Jr and El Heroe Mexicano I'd really be grateful! :D

I'll keep working on them, but I don't know if I'll come up with anything that I'd want to post. This might end up being a job for someone with a little more alt-making skill.

I was hoping somebody would pick up on that. That was the look I was going for, so I'm glad that was your first thought. Might go back at some point and see if I can replicate that mask. Have to get through a few more new ones first though. :D

That is so funny. I've been tossing around the idea of a title based off of King Tut's sarcophagas(sp). Just can't figure out how to make it work yet.

Championa is up there on my to-do list. Hadn't thought about Crazy Miguel or Decimalo, and if I redid Decimalo I'd have to do Hexx too. :D

And in general, I love that you've taken the time to stay as close to the design of the character that comes with the game, so they're true "alts" Should make it easier to get these renders in the game because then Adam doesn't have to update the profile to go with a "new look" Very cool.

Medico: This one shows your really getting the hang of doing masks now, the shading really comes off well here. Your proportions also are being shown to have improved with this.

Estrella: Very clever to with the blond on this one, very suited to the character. The robe is another nice addition, once again alluding to the gimmick.

There was an alt of Eddie Howard I guess you would call it a pimp alt, the most noticeable about it was this big yellow top hat with stars on it, that I would love someone to send a link to the page it is on or repost the alt for personal use if possible. I searched the Contents page, and looked here page by freakin' page even. lol but no luck. Anyone have a copy or can tell me what page? Thanx.

It still looks like it's been just planted in front of his face. Something on the left is bothering it as a whole, the mask edge doesn't go normally. There's not any .. Leaning or angle on the left and that's why it looks like it's a separate.. something.

Might want to try to glue the mask more into his face like it's really tight.

I've been meaning to ask...when you render those characters, is there a way to pin back the ears of the guy underneath so they don't stick out as much when the mask goes over? There are some masked renders where they don't stick out at all..is this because it's a different "model" used as the base character?

But first I want to thank personally all the alt makers that have done alts for me or alts for other people because it makes the game a hell of a lot more fun when the same guy doesn't look the same for a whole game :) So thankyou

Is there any way someone can do a alt for me that seems a bit specific. I asked a while back but I think it got skipped over but no worries anyway. A while back I asked for a TV Title for SWF from ReapeR as part of my requests and duefully got one done (special thanks to ReapeR for that) but I was wondering if there was any way of being able to place the belt across on someones shoulder as if they were holding it (I'm sure there are pictures of Runaway Train holding the SWF belt and James Justice holding the USPW belt like this with the original data)

Anyhow if it is possible for someone to do I was wondering if I could get the Eddie Howard picture I requested last week (thankyou again for that too) but with more of his chest and shoulder on show as it cuts off quite close to his neck that was made to look like Randy Savage holding the SWF TV Title?

Thanks a bunch. I think your masked stuff is still the best around, but I've been trying to get my stuff up to the level of some of your recent GDS work. Death Dealer, in particular, is one of my favorites from that, though Mascarita Sagrada and Guerrero Negro are both very good as well.

I hear you on the lion/tiger issue too. Not only is it hard to get the beard/hair combo to look right as a mane, you then have a whole seperate issue of making a fairly serious character like El Leon super-gimmicky. It's a tough one to get right.

This is excellent, Self. Red Dragon is one of those C-verse characters that has needed an update for a while simply because the original pic is a bit too close-up. These should immediately see the Dragon receive a bit more love from the C-verse public in much the same way as some of the Mexican workers will be more popular from jtlant's recent efforts.

Changes: I've seen a lot of alts with flags drapped over shoulders, and I'm kinda asking for that with Guide and Scout, but with a bit of a twist. I don't want it to look very bright or cheery, rather I'd like the flags to be dreary and tattered looking. If you've ever seen any of those war clips with soldiers bringing up a flag on the battleground, that's fulled with bullet holes and such, that's kinda what I'm looking for. No gaping holes or anything, maybe just make the edges look torn.

Hadn't really planned on it, though I do have a decent amount of them saved. The faces are usually tweaked to fit the masks though, so most of them would look pretty odd without some more work.

I've wanted to take a crack at this one for a while now, so when I saw the belts ReapeR did for WEXXV I figured it was a sign that I should go ahead and do it. :D

LOL I was just playing WEXXV tonight was thinking some of those boys need a redo, Hiroshi Morisue included. Take a look at the roster, alot of the those guys have very weirdly shaped eyes that look awfully weird. For example Battle Sakata and Taheiji Konoe. It's less noticable on Saionki Omura (due to all the hair) but he has the same problem.


Anyways I you do decide to anymore WEXXV guys, can I make just one request? A redo of Zeshin Makioka. The blond/peroxide hair just doesn't look realistic anymore. I was thinking (and so was someone else on this forum, I forget who but they were in the "What would you like to see in the C-Verse for 2010" thread that Zeshin is a bit like Jun Kasai. The more i think about it the more that makes sense. Anyways if Zeshin get's a look in something looking like this wacko would be very, very cool:

Thanks, I liked that one. I'll probably put one up without the paint around the eye tomorrow as well.

As for the program, I use DAZ Studio which, by itself, is free. To do any serious rendering, though, you need to get a variety of props and models which, for the most part, aren't free.

I can only speak for myself, but I have no problem with it whatsoever.

IMHO, your new renders are alts, since the workers alrady have pictures in the default database. Still I would not object if a few "random workers" would appear here as well.

It used to bother me. It's a completely different skillset than typical alt'ing, and I always found re-rendering characters a tad presumptuous. However, that's mostly jealousy talking, and since I did a re-render for Red Dragon I can hardly complain :) Some characters need new pictures.

when i add a suit to a render i select half then paste one half where i want it then paste and flip the other half and move it to position.when i do most alts i cut all the background away and resize and move the original pic around to fit what im adding.

it takes a while to get the hang of gimp but your alts are very good...keep it up the more you do the better you become...if you look back at some of mine the early ones are pretty awful...working out what all the tools do will help a lot..and using lots of different layers to make one pic is useful..sometimes i can have 10 or more different windows open to make one pic.

Yeah, I didn't really notice that until you just mentioned it, but you're right. I don't know if you caught the first Toyokuni alt I did with the paint and the hair, but I think that one looks a little better as far as the age goes... must be the hair. :D I'll see what I can do.

So I'll explain my thinking behind this...

I have no skills in putting bodies on workers who don't have a body to start with however then I took into account the age of Stardust and how I reckon she wouldn't be showin off her full body at her age.

So I went for a MVP style get up almost....but with an American Star feel...

SWF Fan, one slight problem is that the drawing tools in Paint look really, well, obviously done in paint. It's always better to try and find a picture of something and cut that on (gaussian blurring any rough edges, another thing that could help you), rather than just painting it on.

If you can master the Paths Tool in Gimp I just know youll become a wizard at alt work. (It effectively does what the lasso tool does but allows you to draw bended lines also)
