So I've been debating since before I even finished EffVerse 2008 2.0 for TEW07 on whether or not I'd be doing an update for TEW08. That answer is a no. However, I will be working on a mod that I think has a possibility of being really cool. It will actually be 3 mods. Effganic, EffVerse 1976, and EffVerse 2008. Effganic is an organic data set that starts in 1920. EffVerse 1976 is a completely fictional 1976 mod based on data I get running a game with the Effganic data. EffVerse 2008 will be built from the EffVerse 1976 mod and will be a present day mod for the fictional universe.
This mod will not include any of the CornellVerse characters found in my previous EffVerse mod, but will include all of the workers that were added in to build the EffVerse. This universe will feature it's own unique history in every aspect, including Television Networks, PPV Carriers, Promotions, Workers, etc. I'll keep this first post updated with what has been included, though I probably won't go into specifics.

Thanks! I think it's going to be a fun time building the world and watching it grow. The plan is to add a few key people and promotions for the very beginning of the game and then gradually have promotions debut through out and scatter a few wrestlers around up until the bulk of the original EffVerse wrestlers debut.
I'm hoping for a bit of input as it's hard to think up enough promotions to keep the world healthy and I die a little inside each time I think of tackling locations.
Anyhoot, first post updated.

No, they are not a stable. However, they are (hopefully) the backbone to this organic world. These are the men who will be responsible for setting things in motion and hopefully be strong enough for promotions to build around. This being organic however, you never know what might happen.

Question for the data. Would you all want Television networks or PPV carriers included with a close date? So far, I've just added basic channels that would never close and have been debating if its even worth it to include some that have a closing date. Opinions are needed.

Thanks. I'm actually thinking about doing 3 mods now, if there is any interest. The first mod would be strictly for those who want an 1920 Organic Mod, so they can control the world themselves. Mod 2 would be an official EffVerse 1920 Mod which would be based on how the EffVerse was actually formed. And lastly, the 3rd mod would be a present day EffVerse Mod. Mod 2 will build off of what happens in a run through of Mod 1 for me and Mod 3 will be built off of that and Mod 2.
I think the bulk of the work is going to come after the game is released so that I can sim through the organic world, record all the data and input it. Not to mention all the renders, logos, tv and PPV pics I'll have to do. Definitely going to take a lot of work.
Feel free to make suggestions though, I can always use new ideas.

Updated first post.
Didn't seem like I was going to get any Locations input and I decided it might be too much to create them from scratch so I just imported the TEW Locations.
Didn't do much data work today but I now have 25 promotion logos finished (more if you count a handful of alts), 1 TV Network logo, and 1 PPV Logo. Still much more to finish, but baby steps and what not.

Too bad your all tired of logo's, I like your work.... I prefer a more bold/easy to read type of logo's..
I can't remember (might have been Pain) who, but someone did some outstanding jobs on Title's in that same respect..> They looked realistic but were easy to read exactly what they were.. Real title's scaled down look a bit "smudged" when trying to read them.

Thanks again. I'm sure with some time doing some data work that I'll be ready to go again on logos, but I certainly won't turn down help. I did all of those over the weekend and thus feel like my creative juices are a bit exhausted.
I have a nice little system where I work on graphics while at home since it's where I've got Daz, photoshop, and what not. Then when I'm at work I work on the actual data input. Go back to work tomorrow and work everyday for the rest of the week so I'm sure by the end of the week I'll be tired of inputing data and will be ready to make some more logos. Still have a lot of those left after all. Once promotions are finished I need to work on tv networks and ppv carriers, but those will likely be more generic.

The first post is how you say, updated.
Everything should be 100% good to go now outside of some minor tweaking. I just need to make some logos and such and it'll be ready for the official game. That's when the bulk will go into the other 2 mods.
If there aren't any glaring screw ups on my part, the core organic data will be ready for release soon after the game comes out. Just to be clear, this is the bare bone 1920 organic stuff. Just one starting promotion and a handful of created workers. This will be so that everyone can have a different experience and shape the world how they want.
I've actually been debating whether to even do an "official" 1920 mod for this. Is there any interest in it at all? If not I'll simply just do the 1920 organic and the 2008 official.

I'll continue taking promotions from people until otherwise noted. Keep in mind though that if I get them after the game comes out that they may have to be put in as future promotions (after 2008) and not a specified date. The first post shows how many promotions I have by area and by decade so you have an idea of things I'd be looking for (though I'll likely take anything). But basically the moral of this post is that if you'd like to add a promotion, feel free, I'll definitely accept them.

Interested in how the mod is looking? Take a look at this save game. I started simming in March of 1920 with only 1 promotion 7 created wrestlers, and 2 owner/booker type. This save is for January 1937 and there are 821 workers and 12 promotions. I'm extremely shocked at how things are progressing.
For those who may not understand, I'm simming an organic universe in an attempt to build the history of my EffVerse mod. Once I get to 2008 I'll then go back to my data and start adding in everything I need to. I may throw one of these up every once in a while to show how things are going.
As far as me releasing the actual organic data, that'll likely happen once I finish up the logos for the promotions and networks/carriers. Unless no one cares about that stuff. Also, chances are that there will not be and "official" 1920 EffVerse, at least not any time soon.

No save game this post, but I'm starting to wonder about this a bit. It's now 1945 and ZERO promotions are even close to going out of business. In fact some of them have millions of dollars. I'm starting to wonder if it's time for a little interference or something. I'm hoping that once television starts to become huge that worker overness will go up and therefore pay will go up. I just hope it isn't too late by then.

Thanks guys. I'm certainly not going to kill it, lol I'll finish it even if I'm the only one to play it. I might end up releasing a 50's, 60's, or 70'd mod though, mostly out of necessity. As the game begins to slow down on me I might have to stop and create a new database based on the information and then start from there.
Here is another save game for those interested. It's in 1947 and there are finally some television stations. I recently added one called Tiny (I'll have a name for it sometime I promise) in hopes that it will help develop the world a little more as promotions are just making too much money right now.

For 2008 and beyond, probably. 2008 and prior, I'm not really sure. I want to say I have something like 200ish that I added on my own that will be prominent starting in the 90's. I'm not sure whether or not that on top of the organic wrestling will be enough though, lol at the rate the promotions are going in this thing there may be 43 active promotions by 2008.

Personally, unless you're going to set the game up so that every promotion will have a set owner, I'd start with at least one guy or gal in each country who'd be able to act as owner of a promotion to ensure that promotions get started. I'm trying to create an organic mod myself, and I've found that's a problem you have to address.

That's actually how I have it set up right now. I have one worker for every region that has the ability to become an owner and they all start out working for the only available promotion from the start.
In addition to this though, I also have 220 or so workers who debut randomly through the game (most towards the end as it's the EffVerse characters from my 07 mod). Just curious what exactly everyone wants to be included as I may be able to release the organic data by tomorrow if I can tie up all my lose ends.

Work on the 70's-ish mod is going to start this week. This mod is essentially just to set up the last 30+ years of simming getting to 2008 and clean up my simmed data so far as things are running a little slower with all the info that it's accumulated.
If anyone is interested in helping out with some creative stuff for the mod (and 2008 mod) let me know. Since the cpu generated characters are related and have few kayfabe names I plan on spicing it up a bit. So if you are interested let me know.

Work has officially begun on EffVerse 1976. I've started compiling the data so I can go in and add it. I'll be adding about 700 workers that were cpu generated, so that should be fun. As I go through I'm going to see if I might be able to create families out of any of them and try and shape the history. I may make a website similar to the CornellVerse one that will go over the history of the EffVerse.
Still looking for some people who would like to add some creative help to the mod and help create a backstory for it all. If you're interested, shoot me a PM.

Quick question for anyone around that would like to give an opinion.
When adding a retired worker who now works as a manager/announcer/commentator/road agent/personality should I copy over all of their stats or just the ones pertaining to their available roles?

Added a few more workers today, will probably add a few more before I stop for the night.
If anyone is interested, I'm looking to compile a nice big list of wrestling names. As I've stated, essentially 90% of all cpu generated workers have bland names that consist of simply a first and last name. What I'm looking for are gimmicked names that I can use for the mod. Specifically I'd like some Luchador or Japanese wrestling names, but I'm willing to take anything. If you supply some just give the name and any additional details you think I might need to know.

If I'm making up japanses names I like to use a japanese translator. ( http://japanesetranslator.co.uk/your-name-in-japanese/ i use a bit.) My name Stewart is then changed to Suchuaato (pronounced that way). Maybe modify it a bit to make it ur own. Like Suchu Aato or something. I have some American-English names I play about with. Always make an arrogant youth and call him Silas Fiasco.

Well it generates Japanese wrestling names, but rarely gimmicked ones. What I'm looking for is stuff like Tiger Mask, Ultimo Dragon, etc. Same for luchadors, like Super Calo, La Parka, and so on.

I'm once again posting that I'm looking for data entry help. The process of copy workers over stat for stat is taking far longer than I anticipated. I've only input 130 in 3 or 4 weeks. At this rate I'll never get this done before I go back to college in August (when I'll have even less time).
So if there is anyone out there who would be interested in volunteering some of their time and help speed the process along, let me know.
BTW, the official EffVerse website is currently under development.

What I need help with is just inputting workers into the database. Its so time consuming because I you have to copy skills from a work in a save game to a new database manually. It doesn't help that the only time I really get to do so is when I'm at work.

Work is still going, but much faster now with the help of deathcroc and StuLinney. Those two alone pushed out around 75 workers or so. With even more volunteers we can get the data input knocked out in a hurry.
I'm currently working on some worker input as well as finishing up PPV Carrier logos and working on the official EffVerse website. You can expect that to be up and running (somewhat) before too long.

Toying with some background ideas instead of the the C-Verse (although I'm not opposed to using it). Just seeing what people think. Here are 3 renders in the style, only one is mine, but I've gotten permission to use the others. Also, the white outline is intentional.

As for the mod, the last bit of workers are being finished, then it's time to go through and make bios (once I figure out what format I want to use exactly), changing names, and then adjusting everything accordingly. The workers are the hard part and fortunately that is about finished, so I'm thinking things are going to move much quicker now.

I think a unique background adds more personality to the mod as opposed to just the standard CV background. As for the one you've used, I don't mind the colour but as a personal preference, I'd get rid of the cube pattern. Maybe go for a more basic fade effect? At first I didn't think too much of the outline around the renders either, but tbh since I started this reply, they've grown on me.

Just an update.
StuLinney and I are currently working on bios for everyone, and I like the way they are turning out. They seem to be informative and easy enough for the player to even edit and keep updated as the game progresses.
Once that is done, it's time to go back through and give some people some gimmicky names, and for some just some name changes.
Is there anyone out there who likes to do cuts? If so I could use some help to speed up the process for everything. I have 200+ pics on the C-Verse background that I need on the EffVerse background plus a ton of other images that just need cut on the background. If you're interested, let me know and I'll send you all the needed files.
Also, feel free to throw out some gimmicky type names for us to use. Just some names you might have heard from wrestlers from the 20's to 70's.

Would anyone happen to have a generic storyline/angle pack that I could include? When I say generic I mean like ones that don't make reference to real life wrestlers or incidents or anything. They can be based on real life angles, but it would look weird if it mentioned Triple H or something.
How about generic gimmick pack with the same qualifications?
Or an injury pack? I'd like to beef up these areas, however my time is better spend on the other areas of the mod.
Also, all questions and requests from the previous post still stand.

Grrrr....
So apparently I wasn't working in administrator mode or something and none of the bios I had been working on saved. Pissed? You bet I am. Good think StuLinney is helping out.
So while I was annoyed and refused to even look at bios, I started working on some of the other areas. We're now up to 100 titles and 64 Tag Teams (with more to come). I also added the 2 guaranteed TV shows.
So despite that hiccup, work is steadily progressing.

To further, anyone who is interested in sending me workers, I am more than happy to take them. My only restrictions are the aforementioned debut window, and for the bios to follow the EffVerse style.
Template
Name:
Aliases:
Debut:
Nationality:
Promotions Worked For: (For workers debuting in the future, obviously this will be None)
Titles Won: None
Awards: None
You can put a short bio here, preferably starting with "XXX is a (hard hitting, technically sound, high-flying) wrestler who turned pro in Month Year" followed by any other information you'd like to add.
Example
Name: Tsuneyo Inao
Aliases: None
Debut: June 1921
Nationality: Japanese
Promotions Worked For: SW!
Titles Won: None
Awards: None
Tsuneyo Inao is a retired wrestler who debuted in June 1921. In December 1938 he decided to open his own wrestling company Superior Wrestling. It took him 10 years to step inside his own ring and compete. No surprising as at the time of his retirement in May 1962, Inao's in-ring record read: 1 Win, 2 Draws and 145 Losses! (His 1 win coming against Kevin Hudson at Superior Wrestling's 1957 event Your Time Has Come.) In May 1969 he decided to leave the business altogether, while still being the recognized owner of SW!

Finish up the bios, what alter egos we definitely have in, contracts, and all that jazz. Then release a very beta and not 100% complete version of the game. This is to get some help and input from anyone interested in contributing. Alter egos for performers, name changes, gimmicked names stables, tag teams, and lastly who, if anyone, should be added to the Hall of Immortals. All of this information will be gathered and things will then get added into the universe.

Just an update for those of you still interested. StuLinney is continuing to type up some very nice bios which really share a lot of the history of the EffVerse. I've been finishing up titles, and tag teams, as well as working a lot on relationships. I've also been taking Stu's bios and pasting them into the worker file and am nearly finished with all the bios he's written so far. I've been making note of alter egos and relationship that will need to be added and that process will start once we get the bios done. I'll probably finish up some dojo graduate stuff in the near future as well.
Still looking for someone to help with cuts if anyone is interested.
Also looking to add more promotions to debut as the game progresses.

Sorry it's taken so long, I've been swamped with stuff lately.
To my knowledge, the only things that you can import (that are relevant) are workers, titles, promotions, and gimmicks.
Anyhoo, long time no type. As I said, I've been busy with school and work type stuff and haven't had much, if any, time to work on this. But I am happy to announce that the bios from P-Z are done, plus about 200+ random bios scattered about that are done. Once all the bios are done the public beta will likely go up. It will definitely be very rough and very beta though. As I've mentioned before, this will be used to get some ideas from you on all gimmicks, name changes, alter egos, and things like that.

I've been working on two fictional data sets of my own, the Kobeverse and a side project called the nuverse. I've barely touched the nuvere (only a hundred or so workers done) and this seems like a more worthy project so if you want the renders from it you can have them. They are just cuts of renders I've seen posted on forums like Daz around the net (they aren't my own) so you may or may not want to use them in your game. But I cut them to my background and I have the .PSD with all of them if you think you might want to use them.

Like I said, they aren't my renders, just pics I've found around the internet. There are about a hundred or so cuts on that background, and I also have a .PSD with all of the cuts so you could save them to your bg in 15 mins or so.
Conversely, If you need some help cutting PM me. I can do a 60 an hour motivated so lemme know. :)
Thanks a lot, I appreciate the offer. However, as much as I'd love to have the extra renders (I'll certainly need them) I just wouldn't feel right using them without permission.
Although I will gladly take you up on the offer of cutting if you are still interested. I'll shoot you a PM about that.

If you can, is it possible to have those pic available to every one?...I could be intersted....
you know...I love to play effganic and effganic tipe of game, and you surely understand that if you go the long run, you could have some problem remember all the workers that appeares in the world...so having a pic pac of never used pics will certanly help me..because I think that using just used pics didn't create a good result...
thanks in advance

So while in the process of getting things together to give to Trell, I kind of got back into the swing of things. So my plan is to at least put out a playable beta for people. I can't guarantee anything after that though. The remaining bios are currently being worked on (thanks Prophet!) and I've finished all contracts. I've started on the extremely huge task of working on title histories. I've been working on them for a little over a week now and I've barely made a dent in the data collection portion and have yet to even start inputting the data. But it will be a very thorough title history section. Every title from ever promotion that has ever existed in the game world.
I may post them sometime to give people a prerelease feel on the history of the universe. I've also considered doing a weekly post highlighting a past wrestler and his/her accomplishments. Don't know for sure if I'll do that yet though.
As per usual, any help would be useful. I'm sure we can find something that can be done.

A while back there were some cuts you gave me to do but then this mod seems to have died so I didn't bother. If it gets moving again though I'll cut all of the pics.

I pretty much ran out of time on this. It kept getting pushed back because of other things (my record label and my junior year of college namely).
I'm going to post everything that was completely though. If someone wants to pick this up, feel free. Or you can use the information for another mod, but please give me credit for the work that I did.
If you have any questions, comments, or would like to discuss things of the mod with me, feel free. If someone decides they want to pick up where I left off on this and finish it, feel free to contact me for ideas.

File is added as an attachment. It includes a couple spreadsheets (some of the spreadsheets have info on multiple sheets) that may be of assistance. I'm sure some of the stuff that was discussed with the team or thought of is not included, but some bios may serve as reference for those.

Effganic (http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=32579)
You should be able to find logos and such here. You might be able to find some old worker pics in this thread (http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23612) or under the 07 section at bobinc.
