He's hinting otherwise but he also says he missed a day action, and that... what, was the only time he would have been able to act?

He hasn't denied or accepted the day power role, and he hasn't explained it further, IE: If he had a day role, what exactly did he do day 1? If he "missed" his day role in day 2, well, then he has a role that, seemingly, would be used daily.

Unless it's an optional role... if using it could be both beneficial or hazardous...

Sitting around and waiting for day again. Heck, I completely missed my action for day 2 because the lynch happened so fast. I leave for work in the morning and it's still night time, then day time comes and bam, lynch and then night time again.

Shrug, I always reveal my hand :p I basically did it in Heroes and I do it practically every game at Astil's site. It's kind of my thing.

Besides, with Sylar about, it's imperative that we kill him as soon as possible. If we're getting 2 this phase, no reason to waste it on someone that I know is not Sylar.

And, well, I'm working under the assumption that you can live through this. Protectors, and such.

As I said earlier I visited taker night 1 and didn't die. I'm pretty sure he wasn't bad.

And Undertaker666 might be taking everyone for a ride, but the dancing makes me think it's something else.

Finally, if there IS a Sylar, I'd advise looking at the people who haven't posted at all, except maybe a lynch vote. Remember from the show that Sylar survived by staying in the shadows, by blending in. Maybe that means that as part of his really cool SK role that he can't post except to vote for a lynch (maybe not even that).

Someone with more time on their hands might want to look at the people on that list and see who hasn't posted. Just a thought, this part of it is pure speculation on my part, I don't have real data to back up anything other then the list.

a) I had a massive finger pointed at me by accident. I swear I just missed the post where jberg was not to be pressured anymore. I had planned on staying in the shadows and just bandwagoning until I had narrowed down the list some more.

b) I actually had some freetime tonight so I've been online for a bit. Most other nights I pretty much had time to check if I had been killed or lynched yet, and if not then who people were voting for on the lynching.

As for the list, it was delivered as one big chunk.

As I've already outed myself, so I'll just go out and say that Bluestar is not Sylar. I targetted him the night I got this role and "her" ability does not include decapitations.

I also feel good about eliminating UT from the list.

Foolinc will bring some good ithoughts to the game sometimes It is kind of surprising the level of inactivity he has show. Trypio seems to be playing like he usually does. The Shape seems to always send me scummy vibes for some reason. Taker might have something on cyberkitten so that would be a good place to look as well. Sprinkle is normally pretty quiet. First game with ford I do believe and Slim Jim I havent really noticed anything.

My understanding of the typical SK role is that killing is mandatory and if a target isn't sent in by the player then one is chosen at random by the mod. So I don't think that's a strong enough reason to remove someone from the list.

The worst thing is that most of these people have been silent most of the damn game.

I wasn't THAT inactive before I went on holiday for a couple of days :( I had a nice conversation with Shadowed about a car backfiring outside his house just before I left...

The Shape seems to always send me scummy vibes for some reason.

Slim Jim I havent really noticed anything.

First part: from my experiences with him both in mafia games and generally talking to him, he is one of two things. Town or big, big scum. I would normally lean to town but I'd hate for him to catch me out as I'd never hear the end of it. But yeah, he's not playing in a way that makes me think that he's a "normal" scum player at all.

Second part: I've been sunning myself for the last two days and enjoying the beach. Jealous? :cool:

Jeez! Sorry for seeming inactive there everyone. I've been keeping up with this game every day, but yesterday evening I ended up reading comics and sitting with the husband instead of being on the computer all night. I check the game this morning before work and there's 20 pages to catch up on!! :eek: Never found time to check them in work, so by the time I came back there 29 pages!!

So to the matter at hand, I can guarantee that I am not Sylar. The vast majority of my posts before this one have all been in character and being my first Mafia game I haven't been totally sure if I should just be chatting about Arrested Development and things like that or actually trying to give hints as to who I am, so I've been letting the more experienced players point fingers and then I think the evidence is good I throw in my vote too.

With someone like Sylar running around, I don't think we can afford to be cautious right now

I've tried hinting that my character is all about justice and power for the people. As I haven't posted much that hasn't made me a target until now. My character doesn't have a day or a night time power, more of an "always switched on" power.

Night-time Activity: Again as this is my first game, the first two Night phases I asked to "stay in and defend" as I didn't want to end up dead too early in the game. I'm not even sure if there is a stay in action, but Crychon seemed ok with it. Night phase 3 I PM'd Crychon that I wanted to protect blackpheonix as it was obvious from her hints and writeup on Night 1 that she wasn't evil. I figured that would have made her a target. (very much in-character) I would sacrificed myself to ensure that justice was had and that the innocent people would no longer suffer.

I hope this is satisfactory. My last post was nearly 24 hours ago voting jbergey_2005. I'm convinced jb isn't scum, therefore...

Continuous Day Phase Kill guy had the entire Town convinced that he was Town. He would have died once they figured out he wasn't dying at night, but he was Mafia's best shot at winning.

Then here comes Bomb Guy who can kill himself and take one player with him, who none of us knew was Mafia. In his defense, there's no way he could have known.

But I had to die because I was stupid. Still, almost got them to believe two roleclaims. But then that guy had to roleclaim and tell everyone that I wasn't who I said I was. Both times. Would have been epic if it worked.

As scummy as it may make me seem, if I had to pick one of those to be lynched i'd go for Wallbanger because he didn't offer anything up when I asked him what he'd been doing, and then he scooted off on vacation. Obviously i've got nothing to suggest that he is Mafia or Sylar, but I also think he'd be the biggest threat if he was one of them.

Wallbanger is probably the scariest of the list, because he really is that good. I don't feel like he's Sylar, although I can't really explain why. Call it intuition... I'm willing to go down that path though, but it would be under protest.

Now, if Sylar was not replaced, then Wallbanger is clean. Of course, Gonvick made a good point that SK's often have to target someone and if they do not, someone is randomly selected.

That means this player has actively targeted me (Version 1.0), Comradebot (the No Country for Old Men killer), and Orange-kun (Peter).

Targeting Orange-Kun made a lot of sense, given what was said on day 3.

Now, I'm pretty sure that d_w_w version 1.0 didn't give away any good info on day 1, so I'm not sure if that version of me was a completely random target or taken out by someone that's played with me before (I've only played one game here, so I'd be inclined to think that it was someone from Astil's site... someone that figured I'd be good to kill maybe, given my penchant for giving out info).

You've just said yourself that there's the potential to make stuff up, so your hints could well be false too. Also take into account that not everyone is going to get your hints. Some people have hinted left, right and centre, but if I don't know what they're hinting at then the hints they've provided mean nothing. Remember what Chris Tarrant says on Millionaire, "They're only easy if you know the answers".

To be honest, everyone has a pretty good chance of getting away with a false claim in this game. There are just too many characters in the world of TV and Movies.

Well, I guess I should clarify. As you saw, I was given a really big list. Now it has some good info on it, but it in itself is useless without my partner. Now that the list is published, I've got nothing, really. Ordinarily I'd have to wait and wait as the list gets narrowed down (and it was narrowed down, I removed the people already dead) so if Sylar slipped through the cracks I'd be able to pin him down by the end game, but if we get him early... yay.

This list was generated by taking Sylar and a bunch of random people and throwing them together, at least that's been my guess so far. As for it's accuracy, it's accurate. My character is a skeptic, the partner's the crazy one :D, so I don't have to worry about sanity. Finally, I'm not playing Maxwell Smart, so I'm pretty sure this list is accurate.


Danny the Human Attack Dog: This seems like a really weird role, and I think I'm gonna cry foul at this. In the movie, Danny was a combat god that would rip people apart. By the end of the movie, he was a protector, destroying the "mafia" (in the movie it was the evil loan shark) after the shark threatened Danny's new family. It seems really strange that he wouldn't have a protector role, that he wouldn't have a night ability, and Danny was never evil, so there's only a few situations I can think of that would make you not want to use your ability, as hinted.

Although it is a weird role claim, I'm still thinking that Sylar is a quiet chap hanging in the background. Haven't really heard much from Wallbanger or Sprinklefur...

On a completely unrelated note, my "Super" Heroes game is pretty much ready to go. Plus due to a research prospect at work I might be able to get the GDS forums unblocked so I would actually be able to mod it during my lunch break.

I know other people haven't been really excited about another mafia game, but I'm excited :D. I think I'll enjoy modding more then playing at this point.

You said previously that you can't use your ability yet, so therefore it would've been your crazy partner who created the list. With your partner being paranoid (unlikely that person isn't), how can you say the list is accurate?
