I forgot I'd voted trypio when I was agreeing with Astil's logic. UT has some great ideas and questioning so I'll vote The Shape too. The story just didn't sit right with me

Ok. I'm back.

UT - Here's what I think happened, based on my results from night 2.

praguepride and his partner can investigate dead bodies to see who killed them. Of course, they won't just get the killer back, as that would be too easy. In fact, my night result specifically stated that they would determine the cause of death and a list of possible suspects. So, prague's list is cohesive with my understanding of his ability.

Now, how is the list generated? Well, I'm assuming that Crychon takes the serial killer and adds a number of randomly selected people, then sends that to them in a night PM.

I know that other forensic investigator types get lists of the people that have targetted the dead player throughout (this is the classic role as described on mafiascum's wiki), but that would allow for the us to identify and kill Sylar very easily. I mean, I just don't buy that Crychon would do that, as it'd be an absolute and complete death sentence for a serial killer, especially one that we expect to be as dangerous as Sylar.

Let's put it this way. If you got that role, saw the deaths that seemed very Sylar like, you'd definitely target those dead bodies as well. Now, how many people do you think targetted d_w_w v1.0 and comradebot on nights 1 and 2? This would produce a very, very short list of suspects I'm guessing, and Sylar would be basically dead. That would be too easy.

I really and truly buy that they get a list that has the serial killer and a bunch of false leads on it.

And so... why are you on the list? Random. Same reason I'm on the list. Same reason bluestar is on the list. Doesn't make you guilty, doesn't make me guilty. It just makes someone on the list guilty. Now, I don't know this for fact, but I can't think of any other reason why some of the folks on this list are on this list.

Now, as for his partner being paranoid. Sorry, I'm not buying that at all. A list of suspects is already confusing. It's not like this list just automatically gives us the killer. A list of false suspects... well, now, that's just completely useless. That means that everybody else in the game is potentially Sylar, and if that's the case, then prague and his partner are basically useless to us.

It's one thing to have a cop that gets bad results, as you can generally figure out that you're getting reverse results or that you're always and everyone seems guilty. But I fail to see any logic in making this forensic investigator-esque role have such a shortcoming.

Now, I could be wrong. But really, I think that this list is the best lead that we have to find Sylar.

I think we just need to find a group agreement on the two choices, sure there is a chance that we will get both wrong but that will narrow down our list further and we still have enough townies in the game to survive that.

So I recommend not voting for Jberg (even thou I do believe he is scum) to chase the Sylar route.

I've known who my partner was since the beginning, what role they are playing, who they are playing and I didn't want the partner to draw any attention or suspicions.

anyone noticed that basically jberg and the shape have both mentioned that they are protector style characters that can't really do much ie: either on usage or situation activated... and we know due to write ups we have at least one full time protector apart from cyberkitten claiming protector/defend type character.

Don't know, but there could be some game mechanic whereby he only gets accurate results if his partner (Praguepride) is still around to keep him on the straight and narrow.

But doesn't even make any sense, because we wouldn't have lynched you if you had a chance to do it and protecting someone also gives you a chance to prove yourself as well.

You're right, I'm talking for him too much. I've gotten upset at people for defending other players before, so I should lay back. I was pretty paranoid that he was going to get lynched last night, which seemed problematic, given his ability.

Not necessarily, there's not been any mention of a fuchsia coloured rhino in the write-ups but we all know i've been mentioned in them. It's entirely up to Crychon to include what he wants and how he wants.

Not really, Taker and I interacted on night one and there was no mention of what I do, what I learnt in his room nor the fact that my character would have giggle and hugged Taker's incessently and offered him chicken to which taker would have offered her a soy dog.

Alright, a couple points. First, d_w_w is not my partner, in fact he was our primary Sylar suspect until he outed me. Second, I do have a role, which has now become spokesmen for my partner. Finally, I am also suspicious of Sprinkles. After d_w_w was cleared, sprinkles and wallbanger became my next two main suspects.

The crowd gathered after a night of minimal bloodshed. The needed answers, and they needed them soon. They needed to find the man known as Sylar. Fingers were pointed immediately.

INT. HOLLYWOOD HOTEL, LOBBY – NIGHT FOUR


After the events of the previous day, everyone at the convention was ready to move on, and continue with their normal activities. The crowd headed for the door. The first person who reached it tried to turn the knob of the door.

“Locked!”

The crowd moved to the other door.

“This one’s locked too!”

A minor panic started to spread in the room as people weren’t really sure what to think, or what was going on.

That’s when the lights dimmed, and a spotlight hit the stage.

For a moment, all anyone could see was a giant fuchsia figure, as his back was turned, but then he turned toward the crowd and smile with a giant wave he exclaimed.


“Hello convention!”

There was scattered applause throughout the room.

“Who here wants to do the jiggy ziggy?!”

Again, there was a bit of applause.

“AAAAALRIGHT! Here we go! Sing along if you know it!”

The man picked up a guitar, and started strumming.

“Friends, friends, we all got friends, you’ve got me, and I’ve got you! Friends, friends we all need friends, our pals that get us through!
Oh if I had a dollar, for every friend I made…”

I’m sure you get the point.

Though the music wasn’t particularly easy to dance to, one man started dancing wildly in the crowd, a woman watched him closely for a moment, and then smiled and joined in on this wild dancing well into the night.

The man on the stage was on a mission, he played a good chunk of his original compositions on subjects ranging from the deliciousness of vegetables to the dangers of drugs to the importance of donating plasma!

He played throughout the entire night, and his goal was accomplished, there would be no bloodshed tonight.

I removed bluestar because I investigated him the night I received this role. I know his ability and, well, he's a she. Still could be scum, but not Sylar.

Yeah, if the ability is optional then you can just not submit one. But SK roles (and many other roles) are mandatory and you have to submit them and if not the mod with use a RNG to select a target for you.

If you recall when I mentioned that i'd been tricked into attending another convention before, I mispelled Natzi because of that very reason. :p

If we don't lynch Sylar this day phase I doubt he'll be coming after me because i've used my one shot ability so he'll gain nothing, but I can see the Mafia wanting me dead because i'm too talkative and ask too many questions. With that in mind, any protective peeps that might be thinking about protecting me shouldn't bother, they should protect townies with useful abilities instead.

It all depends when it is and how busy I am, if I can't fit it into my schedule at that time then I wont be able to play. I wasn't going to be very active in this game but i've been as sick as a dog this last week so i've had more time to lounge around the house and sit in front of the 'puter.

I've been able to fit his claims into the write ups, but I can't say for sure that it's correct. He might be trying to be vague enough that someone who could dispute his claims doesn't notice.

So if there's concern about him, we could just ask him to more specifically point out where he is in the write ups so we can be sure that nobody can couter claim him.
