THE RULES!!

This is the code to which you will live your life from now on. Read them aloud to yourself each day, write them down and memorize every word. Likewise, when you get your role PM make sure you read it carefully and pay attention to what it says.

While most of the rules here have simply been copy and pasted from previous games, I have made some additions and alterations of my own. So don't think you can skip any of them!

HOW TO PLAY:

- All of you will be PM’d a role and your alignment. The objective is to eliminate all members of the opposing alignment from the game.

- Each player has been given a role with their own special ability. Your PM will explain what it does, if you are meant to know. You don’t have to reveal what your role is to the other players, nor will I do so in my updates. Then again there is nothing to stop you, so if you feel that it may help prove your innocence, go ahead – just keep in mind that this could also backfire and help the mafia. Likewise, you may lie about who you are if you wish. If you want to use your abilities, PM me. DO NOT post it in the thread.

- The game is split into two phases, Day and Night. The game begins during the day, and all players (Mafia and Townie alike) post in the thread, deciding who to kill off. Lynching is the only way for the Townies to kill the Mafia, so be sure to examine voting patterns of your fellow players. I might also provide clues in the death write ups, but over-reliance on those is ill-advised as some may be traps. Day phases will last 48 hours or until a concensus is reached. Night phases will last 24 hours but may end earlier if all night activites are concluded.

- All voting and discussion is to occur within the thread. Town players may discuss who they think is Mafia, and Mafia members should be trying to bluff/convince/blend in, and generally try not to get voted for. To vote, post Vote: Username (MUST BE IN BOLD!). You can also change your vote, by typing Change Vote: Username (AGAIN BOLDED!). You can also change your vote to nobody by typing Change Vote: No Vote (IN BOLD!). You can also choose to vote for No Lynching by using Vote: No Lynch (yeah... BOLDED!), meaning you actively vote to not lynch anyone during that day phase rather than passively not voting at all. You must post in the thread for your vote to be counted. You do not have to vote if you do not wish to.

- A lynch is achieved whenever a person obtains more than 50% of the vote or when the 48 hour day phase runs out. If no majority vote has been reached by the time the day phase expires, a no lynch will be declared. Once a person dies, I will reveal their alignment and role.

- Night falls after somebody is executed or a no lynch is achieved. During this time, the Mafia can discuss who they want to kill next (using whatever form of communication appeals to them) – if anyone at all. Abilities are also used during this time. To use an ability, PM me, and I’ll PM you the outcome of the ability. If it is something serious like somebody getting killed, I will update it in the thread. If possible though, try to PM me what you want to do as soon after night falls as possible to keep things moving along at a quick pace.

- Night ends once I post who gets killed, and the cycle repeats itself. The Town players win if all Mafia members are dead, and vice versa. Remember, this is a team effort, so if you think sacrificing someone may help your cause, go ahead.

-Remember, some roles such as investigators and protectors are more valuable to the town – so try to keep them alive!


RULES:

- I know it’s the Dog Pound, but try not to postwhore in the thread anyway. Feel free to trash talk, accuse, call out other players if you want, but if you’re going to vote, at least state some kind of reason as to why you’re doing so.

- Though I can’t force you to post, I’d love to see active participation. I would advise everyone try to check in with this game at least once a day. Things move fast and you can fall behind pretty easily.

- Once you are dead, you stay dead, and may not participate until the game is over. This includes notes found on your corpse, cryptic messages from the dead, etc, etc. You may also not advise the remaining players on what to do – besides, to prevent cheating, I will not provide the dead with any additional information than they would get if they were still alive. Of course, I’m willing to listen to your theories as to what’s going on. Likewise, I'd appreciate if those not taking part try not help those playing, though general comments on how things are going would be welcomed in the Sign Up Thread.

- Unless your role PM specifically states otherwise, all players may not discuss game plan, your role, or alignment outside the thread. Of course, I can’t enforce this, but I believe secretly revealing information amongst each other would spoil the game, so try not to do it.

- Players are not allowed to edit their posts in this thread at all, as it allows for those who make mistakes to remove all of the evidence without any effort. Since I can't enforce this, I strongly encourage all players to scrutinize any posts they notice that have been edited.

-Players are not allowed to cut and paste anything straight from the Role PM except the Role title. No cutting and pasting of the body of the PM. You can paraphrase what your Role PM says but that is all.

-Please play your role/alignment.

-Talking about your role after death or to those who have died IS NOT allowed.

-Not everything is as it seems. If something unexpected happens, feel free to question it to me in private, and if I can, I'll answer.

I reserve the right to mod kill if I find out that any of these rules have been broken. Please remember that you are not the only one playing this game, so don't ruin it for everyone else!

The mod for this game is Crychon. All PMs regarding abilities, questions or anything else should be sent to me. If you fail to communicate your information then I will go on what I have. You have be warned!

INT. HOLLYWOOD HOTEL, LOBBY – NIGHT ZERO


The convention center was packed and many eager convention goers from around the world were looking around at the amazing display that was put before them.

They came expecting some of their favorite movie characters to be there, and that’s what they got, however, they got their share of characters that no one really knew who the hell they were as well. I guess that brings us to our host of the evening.

He stood on the stage and presented each character with a passion. He had hosted events such as this before, but never on a scale such as this. The fanbase of his show is rabid, but when you combine the fanbases of all of these shows put together, there was an energy that he just hadn’t felt before.

HOST“Thank you all very much, I’m sure he appreciates all of his much deserved applause, he will be over in section 42 signing autographs for the next few hours. Once again, for those of you who are just joining us, welcome to CharaCon 2008!”

The crowd gave a thunderous applause and the man soaked it in for a little bit, then looked off the side of the stage, nodded, and looked back at the next guest, who had been staring blankly ahead for the past few minutes, quiet and unnoticed. The host motions to the crowd to lessen the applause.

HOST“Ok ladies and gentleman, it gives me a great honor to introduce our next guest. You know him from the hit television series The Office, coming to you live, and in the flesh, from Scranton, Pennsylvania, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Mr. Jim Halpert!”

The crowd let out another thunderous applause, and the host smiled and motioned toward Jim. Very uncharacteristically, Jim still sat there, silent, not moving a muscle, and just staring blankly ahead. Eventually the applause dies down and our host looks down at Jim with a smile.

HOST“Hey, Jim, buddy, you in there?”

The crowd laughs.

HOST“Well, Jim doesn’t appear to be in the mood to speak much right now, but he will be signing autographs over there in section 53 for the next few hours. Let’s give another round of applause for Jim Halpert!”

The crowd once again applauds, and the host gives him a hearty pat on the back. For a moment, nothing happens, and then suddenly, and without notice, the top of Jim’s head slides off, leaving a bloody mess all over the stage. The crowd immediately goes silent, and the host looks down at this in horror. For a moment he just stands there with his mouth opened, in shock, but then he lets out a scream, and the crowd and everyone in the room starts to panic. Except for a select few.



INT. HOLLYWOOD HOTEL, HALLWAY – NIGHT ZERO


The host frantically ran around looking for someone, anyone who would make him feel safer. Eventually, he found that familiar face, and he ran up to him screaming.

HOST“I’ve gotta get out of here! They’re going to kill me!”

FRIEND“Guy! Calm down, snap out of it, no one’s going to kill you!”

GUY“Did you see that? Halpert, he’s… He’s… I’m next! I’m nothing but a glorified extra!”

The man nods, with a solemn look on his face.

FRIEND“First of all, you're much more than a glorified extra now. Second of all: Just because Jim died doesn’t mean that anyone else is going to. I’m pretty sure that is all just some big…”

Then it came, before he could finish his sentence, or before he, or anyone had time to react, a gunshot pierced poor Guy Fleegman’s heart. He fell with a confused look on his face.

FRIEND“Guy! Oh, god! You hang in there! You’re going to make it, you’ll be fine! HELP!”

Sadly, no help came, and Mr. Fleegman breathed his last.



INT. HOLLYWOOD HOTEL, LOBBY – NIGHT ZERO


The room had now cleared but for one man. As he looked at the remains of his fallen former coworker, he wasn't really sure what to think. He stood silently contemplating what to do. That is when his cell phone rang.

MAN"Hello?"

VOICE ON PHONE"Is Jim really dead?? Is it true??"

The man sighed.

MAN"Yeah... Yeah he is..."

VOICE ON PHONE"Oh no, this is terrible!"

MAN"Yes... Yes it is..."

VOICE ON PHONE"I want you to find the people who did this, and I want you to bring them to justice!"

MAN"Don't worry, Michael. You can count on me!"

The man slowly takes a sheriff's badge out of his pocket and pins it to his shirt, with a determined look on his face.




INT. HOLLYWOOD HOTEL, HOTEL ROOM – NIGHT ZERO


In another part of the building a man smiled as he slowly brought the cigarette to his lips, he inhales slowly and lets out a satisfied sigh.

MAN“We’re here to do a job, and we will do it. None of us leave until this is through."

All eyes turned to the last colleague as he re-entered the room, and with a nod, they all knew it had been done.

MAN“So it begins…”

Look at my history in large GDS games (I'd say "as town" but that'd be suspicious). In the very first mafia game here (ever), and in the very first post, I started with a bandwagon against jerlito.

The bigger the game, the more of a chance of me getting things started.

Had ShadowedFlames not voted for ya, I would have. If being late makes me scum... Well, I have no response to that because it doesn't!

Keep in mind this is a bandwagon. I don't really plan on lynching him, even if the "vote, claim, vote, claim, vote, claim" thing is getting lame.

I just want to see how people react.

Going pretty good. Mostly trying to work out a couple storylines in TEW08 with the ever awesome EWA.

Found out that running a weekly show with a smaller roster sucks with the new booking penalties. As such I booked Louis Figo Manico vs. White Knight, just to avoid booking him against any of the Main Eventers, and ended up with a great chemistry note and the best match I've booked with EWA so far...

And I so wanted to fire White Knight before that.
