I really tried to stay out of the way this night so the investigative types could do their thing, so my targets might not be the most obvious.

To give you an idea of where I was going, the mystic in the first game found the nexus night one. From then on, he used him as a weapon, driving him to the likeliest kill target. It eventually let us catch Huss and Crychon as scum because Crychon was directed back to Huss and was like WTF no night kill. I barely mentioned the idea of driving around the bomb, so it's okay if you didn't catch it. Think about it. If you're going to use him, don't even hint at who would be switched. If we're lucky, one of the night kills will result in a backfire and kill one of them.

They were ridding themselves of threats day after day. Surely this would make there nights easier, right?

I've only got a couple of minutes before I head off to work, so I've got to make this really, really fast.

1st bit, flavour text.

2nd bit, I don't exactly know what to make of it, except that we have 2 deaths tonight and 2 on the first night. If this accounts for both of the kills then they are not the same as they were back then.

3rd bit, Arrows being taken away by the looks of things.

Well, we can't do anything about Arrows unless we decide to lynch him while he can't respond. Everyone's read the part about the TV, right? That's how the pack recruited. Huss was recruited by a talking TV in his office. We really need to know who is silencing people.

I was beginning to think the undead were the main group we are contending with but if this is indeed the Pack in play then damn... things aren't looking great, specially with so many vets dying and/or being abducted.

So what did you make of the big burly protector at Arrows' house on night one?

Personally, I think the protector is another player who done a great job on the second night blocking a kill. For the love of all that is holy, don't out yourself unless you know you are going to take at least 1 scum down with you.

Me too. And I hope he comes on while I'm away so that he can provide some leadership to the town. I just hope that his leadership doesn't end up trying to get my lynched like it did yesterday.

I'm heading off to work now but I wish I didn't have to go. Make sure nothing happens quickly to mess things up, we need to move slowly and try to pick through the available facts. And so that you know, I didn't receive any interesting poetry or anything last night.

Everyone has various roles w/ different abilities. A protector role usually (during night phase) PMs the mods picking someone to protect from a night kill. For them to step forward at this early stage is not good since they play a vital role for townie survival. As for how they choose, paying attention to the thread, looking at the evidence, or just randomly pick one. :p

Exactly. There are roles that ARE immune to night kills however; it's rare to be both, though in Gotham Mafia I had limited protection abilities and WAS immune to night kills, but was without a vote!

I had a brainwave, a memory of a family guy skit, and suddenly tied the whole gut thing in as a hint at "Jake and the fat man," some american tv show which seemed to be about CSIs from what I saw on family guy. The gun smith and registries **** made me thing it was a forensic investigator variation...then it was clarified for me that that couldn't be the case.

Yeah, sounds about right. There is a chance they weren't roleblocked, but just unable to talk about it. Maybe they had a run in withe the undead king. It'd have to be a proximity effect with so many targets.

So my understanding is that we have: Lakeside Aligned (townies), The Pack (?), and Undead aligned. There may be more groups yet to be revealed. We also know that the Pack can recruit or kill at night, and that there's a Z virus somewhere. It makes me think the Pack aren't behind the kidnappings...it just seems like an inefficient way to recruit someone. My latest thoughts have been that the Undead Aligned are behind the kidnappings, with the intention of infecting their kidnapees with the Z Virus on day 5 or night 5 to unleash their 'Army of Darkness'.

Then again, I could be so far off the mark...:p

My thinking is that undead are playing to wipe out all of Lakeside. Which the Pack can use to it's advantage, as it allows them to fly below the radar, but the two aren't interweaved. As soon as the last of us townies falls, I think the remainder of both groups would win, but it won't stop them from trying to pick each other off for their own personal gain either.

I considered that, especially with the theory that Arrows knew who was at his home last night, however, with the failed vote on him, I don't think Arrows was recruited. I think he's gone the way of Lost, which means he's gone.

I did have another thought, though. Did Arrows confirm he was immune to night kills?

There was a role in SW 2 game that could change the alignment/role title of a person the scum group murdered AND change the alignment/role title for someone that was lynched.

Thing is though, there was a balance role to that, I think the Forensic Investigator could have balanced against it a bit. I dunno if its safe to assume a role like whats mentioned above when there is no evidence of anything in the game balanced against it, or I assume, in past games. (unless there was such a role in past games).

The thing about that is, if MNN was town at the start, then he would have been a gunsmith at the start. There's be no reason to fake claim, something other than what you started as, and stick to it until your death, if you started as a townie role. So if he was a gunsmith, he still shouldn't have recieved the results from night 1 that he claimed, since he was clearly bus driven. The only reason for him to lie about that is that he was scum trying to build a fake claim.

At least that's how I see it.

Evening all, just got through the long process of catching up. It's weird, I half expected to return home with a massive lynch being led against me and yet that hasn't appeared. I'm almost disappointed in you all. :p

But on a more serious note, I was trying to piece together a case but haven't been able to clearly assemble anything. So I'm just going to share the key thought with you. I beleive the "dreams" that Arrows and now MJD have experienced are cases of posession. Someone, almost certainly not on the side of Lakeside, seems to be posessing people and making them do things without them knowing about it.

The thing is... I can't account for what has been done or for who is doing it. I think the deaths so far have been accounted for in the updates and don't seem to point toward anyone being posessed in them. Similarly, I can't point to any group in particular for doing this... or even for what they would have been making them do.

I'll have to mull it over some more... but at least I won't have to wade through mountains of spam while I think now! (Sorry Arrows, I just can't resist taking shots at you when you can't reply! :p)

I haven't played a Lakeside game before so the various roles are a bit of a mystery to me but I wouldn't have thrown the idea out there if I didn't think it was a possibility. Afterall, we do have the undead running... walking... lurching around, so it isn't a big logical leap.

I just want to say, having discussed the possibility of a zombie uprising with people before...

1. If it's the slow zombies, I'll be okay.
2. Fast running zombies... we're ALL ****ed
