Night 2

After another quiet day, a variety of individuals slipped out into the night. Some with the intent of harm, others with the intent of help.

"It was definitely her! Definitely! Definitely a cheater!" The small avatar ran up, explaining to the ghost like avatar.

The ethereal being nodded. "Are you sure that this is the one?"

"Yes! I saw them using exploits!"

"Thank you for your assistance." The being floated across the plains and approached the accused target.

"Greetings player. I am Customer Service Representative Peppercorn. I have recently received some complaints about your behavior. I am going to freeze your account while I examine your recent activity log."

Two others watched this scene unfold. One from the distance, the other from the shadows.

Nearby, another slipped into the shadows. Successful again.

------------------

Oh, what a glorious night! A perfect time to show his allegiance to the realm. And his allegiance to roleplaying! Skipping down a wooded path, he found his target.

"Good sir! I am a knight most holy and reputable! Verily, I offer thee my services. With me by your side, no harm shall fall upon you!"

His targeted target turned around. In real life, he was smiling. "That's cool! I was just coming out to find you! LOL!"

"Ha! The stars deemed that our meeting would happen! Tis no matter of happenstance! Come now, good citizen. Let us leave this place and find refuge for the night."

The roleplayer walked forward, so happy with his roleplaying that he didn't notice his new companian had slipped behind him. His companion jumped on his back, plunging a dagger into his neck and driving him into the ground. mjdgoldeneye hit the ground, dead before he could realize what had happened.

"LOL! n00b! Pwned!"

Another reached the housing zone, just as the night ended. Hmm, the mail flag was up. He opened his box and pulled out a package. A gift? How nice.

Gonvick's account has been frozen by the CSR. He is currently unable to paritipate in the thread.

Glotnot thinks one of two things:

Either the mafia hitman got roleblocked Night 1...or he got roleblocked Night 2.

Staff lady seems more like the pro-veteran type then the "LOL noob" guy.

Staff lady killed Crychon.

Crychon and Gonvick were near each other last night.

But if Gonvick isn't scum, then that means whoever was roleblocked last night probably is.

Unless the Mafia can choose a new hitman every night to throw us off.

Also, I apologize for my lack of participation, but with my birthday, and 2 days fighting with the state, I haven't spent much time online. I'm here now, though. :D

So only thing I can take from last night that yall havent already, is I really wish MJD had been speaking in Olde English all game. That woulda been awesomesauce.

As for Gon...hopefully this is only a 24 hour ban and we can settle this up soonish.

It doesn't seem like a mafia ploy to me, the account freezing ability seems to work much like the jailer role I had back in the Gotham mafia game in that it protects as well as roleblocks, which would account for the votes on Gonvixk not counting. Plus a "Customer Service Representative" role doesn't exactly scream "scum" to me.

I don't know, the guy could just be flavor. After all, CSRs wouldn't go around freezing accounts without a good reason and adding someone complaining about cheating as flavor text would be a good reason for a CSR to intervene.

The moment I read that, I thought "D'OH!" And he appears to be protected from lynching now.

Regarding machinesxe, can you (or Aussie) point me to the post where he revealed his role? I must have missed that as well.

To Lostrealms, did you find out anything last night phase? If memory serves me correctly, you were the one that revealed to us that gonvick was in close proximity to Crychon; you got nothing for night 2?

I'll reserve my vote for now, as we're already halfway, and hope that maybe someone will pop up and say "hey guys, look at this!"

Okay its been nearly 10 hours since my last post and nothing :(

I have no idea how long is left, but come on people!! We cant have a 3rd no lynch in a row.

Why is there no info coming from you guys? it looks like from the writeups you participated in the night phase. This game isnt just about sending pm's.

/nod. I refuse to believe there isn't at least one investigator running around. The write-ups support this...where are you? What did you find out? I guess the take-home message is don't start a mafia game close to the holidays, lol.

I personally am not sold on the machinesxe lynch; it just seems like clutching at straws. His role claim...maybe it's just me, but it doesn't scream scummy to me, and based on my own role claim as well as the people that have died, it just doesn't seem to far-fetched to me. However, with seemingly zero leads (well, except for gonvick, but he's not an option at the moment) and zero no info...I can agree with almost everyone that a no lynch 3 days in a row is not good. So...

Well the lack of information really disappoints me. I am having a tough time following the reasoning behind the current lynch. The role claim is odd to say the least, but lynch worthy? I have some classes to conduct at one of our warehouses. I should be back before lunch. Hopefully by then there will be something of note to ponder.

They looked around? Hmm. Who is the most suspicious person around?

Him! The creepy guy!

He always walking up to up to you and saying things like:

- what's ur email? i'll send pics.
- if u r ever in FL let me know, u got a place to stay for free
- any 1 going to E3? if so, let me know, i will be there. we can meet up.
- i sent u a pm on VN

And of course, the responses he recieved were typically things like:

- uh, I'm a dude, dude
- I am so NOT giving you my phone number
- Yeah. Um, actually I just took FL off the list of states that I'm willing to visit.
- Uh, no offense. But I'm not opening that attachment you sent me.
- I actually already reserved a hotel. Can't back out of it now, you know?

Clearly, this man was a menace!

Or was he just lonely and socially awkward?

We're pretty much in a catch-22 at the moment. If we lynch no one for the rest of the game, the town will probably lose. If we lynch blindly (or with minimal evidence of any sort) the rest of the game, the town will probably lose. I have no clue who our investigators on, but it'd be nice if they shared their results with us...I guess they really are on vacation.

The only positive I can think of is that it's likely gonvick is the female killer from night one (or was it 2?), and I can't imagine that being a town role, so unless he / she's "supended" again, we can go for that lynch (which I think is a safe way to go). But if our investigators / watchers / trackers / whatevers don't step it up soon, I'm not liking the town's chances.

Some rejoiced that the creepy man was gone, others realized that he wasn't a real threat. The real threats, in fact, come out at night.

Amateur night was over. Finally, it was his time to make waves. Oh, the glory...

"Oh, this is cool! I wonder if I can use it?" The excited man ran down the road, happy with the package that he had just received.

From a hill above, another man pointed down. "Yes, that's the one! HaXXors!"

The ghostly figure looked at him. "Are you certain?"

"Of course!"

The ghostly figure darted down the hill and approached the excited man.

"Greetings player. I am Customer Service Representative Peppercorn. I have recently received some complaints about your behavior. I am going to freeze your account while I examine your recent activity log."

He was out to get information once again. He walked through the woods, trying to avoid aggro, as he searched for his target.

He was successful, in that he avoided the mobs and npcs in the area. He did not, however, avoid his killer.

Thunk. The arrow struck masterded in the back of the head. He dropped to the ground, completely out of hit points.

"BOOM! HEADSHOT!

The killer jumped up. He started flexing. Then he did the chicken dance around his victim, screaming: "BOOM! HEADSHOT!"

Nearby, the shadows were alive with movement. Some of movements were, however, more graceful than others. "Oops! Sorry!" one cloaked figure said, as it stumbled over another. "Shhh. Quiet."

The killer turned and looked. Couldn't see anyone around. Oh well. Time to celebrate!

"BOOM! HEADSHOT! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH! OW! OW! OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!"

His celebration would continue. And continue. And continue. And...

So we're just going to rush through this and make a mistake? I assure you I'm not scum. I've given you my role and I've answered all the questions asked of me. I'd hope you'd at least put some thought into this and gather all the available info before rushing into another mislynch.

Maybe if townies would share some info and actually try questioning people we wouldn't have lynched a pretty clear townie because nobody tried looking elsewhere.

There is a reasonable explanation for why Masterded got the result on me that he did. I was the obvious choice to be investigated, and as such, I was also the obvious choice to be framed. I'm sure not all of you will believe it, and I know some have reason to claim they don't believe it. But maybe we could try to find some actual scum before just settling on the easiest thing that's been suggested, which didn't work out well last day phase.

We definitely need to slow down ant think this through. Even if Gonvick did kill Crychon on night 1, there's no way that he could have killed mjd on night 2 because he was frozen before the kill happened.

Well, I was hoping that some townies would show up and remove their vote so they have time to think things through. I'm rather nervous being left in this position. One scum wanting a mislynch, or even a well meaning townie in a rush, and things are looking even worse for us.

Especially when there was mention of someone having some interesting news. And apparently there are some that would rather end the day quickly than hear what that is. Maybe I'm the only one that finds that interesting.

I'll be on again tomorrow afternoon sometime. It would be nice if I at least had one more chance to properly defend myself, perhaps when there are some others around to discuss things, so maybe we can avoid another mislynch.

You lied somewhere. If it's 3...understandable All the others, no.

Honestly, if we had another day, I'd be willing to remove my vote as a show of good faith because there is a decent chance of you being a helpful townie. But I won't be back until 4-5:00. Sorry if you're Town, mate.

But if you aren't scum, then whoever got roleblocked on Night 1 is.

He was trying to move quickly. He liked to be done early in the night. It was safer that way. He was almost there. In the distance, he could see two figures watching him. It looked like a CSR and a player.

The player pointed.

Ah crap.

And suddenly, he was frozen.

"Greetings player. I am Customer Service Representative Peppercorn. I have recently received some complaints about your behavior. I am going to freeze your account while I examine your recent activity log."

His target was sitting under a table, hiding. Interestingly, he appeared to be AFK.

The killer squated and poked his opponent in the chest with a dagger. No movement. Yeah, he was AFK.

Poke. Poke. Poke. He took his time, slowly removing his victim's hitpoints and adding the occassional "nooblet, lol, and loser" to add verbal insult to virtual injury.

After 5 minutes of poking, Lostrelms was out of hitpoints. He collapsed to his side.

I dunno your endgame Glot, but it doesn't strike me as it being in the best interest of the casual guild.

I had no reason to come out. lostrelms was forwarding all my results for me. He just never got around to sharing the Night 3 result. I told him to wait until after the gonvick lynch so it couldn't be used as a delay.

However, here, you are telling me that I said a killer's identity was not important. This is false. I simply had someone else that was able to give the results for me. I'm Casual Gamer Aligned Dial-Up Connected Tank In a nutshell, I can choose a target to protect, but due to my unstable isp, considering the massiveness of an MMO game, I drop from time to time, giving me a 50-50 shot at actually doing my job. I wanted to protect masterded, but I didn't make it in time.

As for my vote record, I also put one on machine, which was a mistake in hindsight, but with so many theories going around about his claim, and it's believability, and the lack of info that came out, at the time, it seemed like the right thing to do.

Even if you're protection attempt failed, one would think you would have been shown in at least one write-up by now. Hell, even if you'd been protecting masterded and then dropped out just before masterded died, one would assume that you would have been show.

Earlier you said your role would get you in trouble. I don't really see how. Unless you mean your real role, in the Mafia.

And yeah, I bet it seemed like the right thing to do. Tons of confusion. Perfect cover for killing someone that had absolutely no concrete reasons for lynching him.

Well, the only ones from the writeup that were present were the watchers and the killer. Where were you if you are not the killer? And you would think that you would have at least took the time to get the proper formatting on the role claim. If you are copying it straight from a Role PM there would be no reason that it would be incorrect.

I managed to find two killers around their victims. I also know the identity of what I can only assume is a town player. You aren't getting anything else from me, unfortunately. I still thought there was a chance that Prophet was masterded's target (even though masterded never actually got to his target), but since he's claiming the reason he'd come up as being around masterded is because masterded was his target, and the character he's claiming hasn't shown up in any write-ups despite having an active power, I think it's pretty safe to say he's the killer.

I managed to find two killers around their victims. I also know the identity of what I can only assume is a town player. You aren't getting anything else from me, unfortunately. If I gave you a list, the scum could make their defenses around that. If they don't know what I know, then they can't plan ahead and I can catch them. Although in all honesty though, I'm probably dead tonight. Since they killed lostrelms to get rid of the watcher, and I'm still here.

That's not exactly it. I received an anonymous message on night phase...well, on 11-22. It was from: Casual Gamer's chat line. To sum up the message, it asked me if I agreed that not sharing information was not good. I never responded, as I was driving all day (real life) and never checked in, so missed the dealine.

I'm assuming the chat line role is someone's special ability. I don't know if that person is still around, but since the blue text appeared in my PM, I assume that person is a townie.

I'm giving him a pass on lack of participation (uncharacteristic of him, really), as his participation in other ongoing mafia games (Phoenix Wright mafia at Astils sight, South Park mafia) has been on par with this game. He mentioned in Phoenix Wright begins super busy with work in real life, and I believe him.

But it was clear that they weren't going to let this man go. One man had his finger on the trigger. He was itching for some action. He was itching to scream his name and charge into battle. But he never got the chance to do so.

The leader of the Casual Gamers stepped forward. "We do this by the numbers and we'll all make it out of this alive." Of course, today he was making a sacrafice. For the Casual Gamers to win as a whole, independently, he would have to lose.

With a plan in place, they attacked GruntMark. He held them off for awhile. After all, you don't lead the most successful Gank Guild in Server history by sucking. But the attack was surgical and soon, he was dead. What a crappy night.

His night was about to get a whole lot worse.

Those n00bs had killed him! He'd lost to a bunch of PVE Carebears! Oh, how embarressing!

*DING-DONG*.

Someone was at the door. Probably the pizza delivery man, he thought to himself.

He opened the door. This was no pizza delivery man. Instead, it was a large muscle-made mountain of a man, wearing a black leather jacket and dark sun glasses. He was very terminator-esque.

The man looked down at a list in his hand. "Do you play Dark Age on the World of Grey Dog Quest as..." He looked at the list again. "... GruntMark?"

The young man was confused. This was strange. "Uh, yeah, I do actually."

The large man lunged into the house and grabbed its inhabitant by the shirt. "So, you're some sort of tough guy, huh?!"

"Wha...what are you talking about?"

"Yeah, I play that game too. I go by bak42. And I'm sick of you Internet Tough Guys. Always talking trash about how bad you are! About how tough you are! About how you'd F-me up if we met in real life! Well, punk, this is real life! Now mess me up!"

"Uh... dude, it's a game!"

The man shoved him back. "Yeah, that's what I thought. You're just a scared piece of crap. And I pieces of crap like you for breakfast?"

bak42 seemed satisfied, happy to have put this Internet Tough Guy in his place.

"You eat pieces of crap for breakfast?" Why? Why did those words come out of his mouth?

GruntMark doubled over in pain, as bak42 slammed his knee into his stomach. Then he was shoved to the ground. bak42 looked at the man for a moment. He thought about kicking him while he was down. He thought about really, really hurting him. But he decided that it wasn't worth it.

Instead, he stomped through GruntMark's house. He found his computer. He jerked the tower off the ground and launched it into an expensive 24-inch monitor. Then he picked up again, and flung it through a nearby window.

And with that, he felt satisfied.

Thanks to the mods for a unique, original game. Despite participation problems, I had fun. Your creativity and strong writing skills shone through in the write-ups. And my first game as a survivor! Oh, the skill....okay, okay, it was pure luck, I admit it! :p

On a side note, it may be worth mentioning in Outlaw's mafia thread the risks of starting a mafia game around the holidays. You'd think people'd have more time, but I guess between travel, family, friends, internet access, it's actually not the best time to do so.

Everyone started the day intending to resolve this mess. But, then, as if often the case in the MMO world, things never came to be. Here were some of the reasons/excuses:

1.) Uh, my mom won't let me use the computer tonight.
2.) Guys, I'm going afk. For the next 15 hours.
3.) I need to camp this mob, he drops a really uber rare item.
4.) LOL
5.) Can I join a guild?
6.) Yeah, sorry. Want to work on my alt today.

And so, night came.

Night 1

The proceeding day was calm and without intra-realm violence. The night would be different.

Introductory Fluff.

He sat there thinking about how he might be able to help the Casual Gamers in the upcoming days.

"LOL!"

Tonight, however, was not a night for thinking.

"LOL! U SUCK n00b!"

The figure ran up to him, spouting off a series of derogatory and inflammatory remarks in netspeak at an incredible rate.

"dood, why don't u go n00b it up somewhere?!?! LOLOLOL! You should go play FFXI LOL!"

And the berating continued... It was clear that tonight ... he would have a headache.

Another man watched verbal assault from a distance. His intentions were unclear, but it's safe to say that he was happy to be outside of chat range.

Midnightnick is roleblocking The Aussie (who had no night abilities, hence why he was "thinking").

mjdgoldeneye was investigating The Aussie, who came up clean.

Most players farm gold and items. This one, however, he farmed players. He held the record, both on and across servers, for the number of player kills. He had not, however, ever participated in intra-realm affairs. They were boring and uninteresting to him. This intra-realm war, however, had caught his attention. He sped across the night, with the speed of a minstrel.

He found the The Archer standing there, AFK as always. He (IRL) smirked. 2. 3. 3. First, a spell to debuff his opponent's resistance to heat magic. Then two quick fire bursts. The Archer was incinerated.

"Nice shooting." The killer turned around, ready to make another kill. Oh, it's just her. Once upon a time, she had PMed him, offering her... services... for some help in climbing the realm ladder. He declined the offer, of course. She would have only slowed him down. And he saw her pictures. She was pretty plain.

The female avatar approached him and clapped.

"Thanks." He rolled his eyes (IRL). "Aren't you supposed to making whathisname feel better about himself?"

"Oh, there will be plenty of time for that."

He rolled his eyes again. He should probably kill her. Nah, one kill is enough for tonight. He turned, satisfied with his actions.

*Bzzt.*

That noise! He turned to... but it was too late, she had stunned him with a light spell. 7 seconds of immobility. He might make it. The first bolt hit him square in the chest, cutting his hit points in half.

"I bet you're regretting the past right now."

A second bolt connects. Almost dead. But he knows her limits, she doesn't have any more bolts. 2 more seconds, and he'll... the staff connected with his head.

How could this be? How could Crychon, the most famous of all PKers, be dead? And to a staff shot... by her, no less? And yet, his character fell to the ground, rather dead.

Well... C'est la vie.

Crychon killing The Archer, then getting killed by Gonvick.

Honestly, you're too busy to play this game. But, it seems like you're addicted, as you just can't bring yourself to cancel your account.

And besides, you've figured out a way to be effective without even being there. You wrote this nifty macro that sticks your character to another character near you when you go afk for a few hours. Then, when you come back, you suddenly have a pack full of loot and a truckload of experience.

Now, folks are fighting with each other inside the realm. Oh, you're too busy for this! But you're hoping that that Casual Gamers win, because, well, you're the very definition of a casual gamer these days. Having said that, all this fighting doesn't really change things for you. You're still going to go afk and you're still going to stick to people while you're gone.

Each night phase, your nifty macro program will stick you to a random player. By being close to them all night, you will receive any night PMs that they receive. In other words, if you target Player A and he kills player B, you will receive a night PM that say something to the effect of: You killed player B last night.

Of course, you'll lose your auto-follow by the time day comes up, so you won't know who you followed.

You win when all threats to the Casual Gamers are eliminated.

Crychon:

You are Crychon the Independently Aligned Legendary Solo Ganker

You were ganking n00bs back before most of these n00bs bought the game. Now these idiots want to kill each other. Sounds like your type of game.

You an extremely experienced killer and have a wealth of knowledge, special gear, and tricks up your sleeve.

Each night, you must kill another player. To do so, PM the mods with the following information (Kill: Target).

Once, and only once, in the game, you may unleash a Point Blank Area Effect bomb (the so-called, PB Bomb). This attack will kill your target and has a chance of killing the players near your target.

You haven't lasted this long by complete chance. You're good at fitting in and, prior to unleashing the PB Bomb, you will investigate as a non-threat and be impossible to track. After unleashing the PB Bomb, the other players will be on edge, and you will turn up as a threat and be trackable.

You win when all other players are dead.

"Thank you for your assistance." The being floated across the plains and approached the accused target.

"Greetings player. I am Customer Service Representative Peppercorn. I have recently received some complaints about your behavior. I am going to freeze your account while I examine your recent activity log."

Two others watched this scene unfold. One from the distance, the other from the shadows.

Nearby, another slipped into the shadows. Successful again.

Lostrelms hiding behind mjdgoldeneye. Had a 50% chance of being detected... was lucky to not get detected, as he would have died with mjdgoldeneye as well.

Oh, what a glorious night! A perfect time to show his allegiance to the realm. And his allegiance to roleplaying! Skipping down a wooded path, he found his target.

"Good sir! I am a knight most holy and reputable! Verily, I offer thee my services. With me by your side, no harm shall fall upon you!"

His targeted target turned around. In real life, he was smiling. "That's cool! I was just coming out to find you! LOL!"

"Ha! The stars deemed that our meeting would happen! Tis no matter of happenstance! Come now, good citizen. Let us leave this place and find refuge for the night."

The roleplayer walked forward, so happy with his roleplaying that he didn't notice his new companian had slipped behind him. His companion jumped on his back, plunging a dagger into his neck and driving him into the ground. mjdgoldeneye hit the ground, dead before he could realize what had happened.

"LOL! n00b! Pwned!"

mjdgoldeneye protecting midnightnick... who was out to kill him.

Another reached the housing zone, just as the night ended. Hmm, the mail flag was up. He opened his box and pulled out a package. A gift? How nice.

Clearly, this man was a menace!

Or was he just lonely and socially awkward?

Apparently a lot, because no comes near you anymore. At first, people thought you were just a strange, friendly, chatty guy. Now they think you're some sort of weirdo, creepy guy that wants to abduct and molest young gamers. This makes you kind of sad, but, it does have its benefits.

Now, when people target you at night, they'll remember how creepy you are, and switch off to another target. You have no active night abilities.

Some rejoiced that the creepy man was gone, others realized that he wasn't a real threat. The real threats, in fact, come out at night.

"Oh, this is cool! I wonder if I can use it?" The excited man ran down the road, happy with the package that he had just received.

From a hill above, another man pointed down. "Yes, that's the one! HaXXors!"

The ghostly figure looked at him. "Are you certain?"

"Of course!"

The ghostly figure darted down the hill and approached the excited man.

"Greetings player. I am Customer Service Representative Peppercorn. I have recently received some complaints about your behavior. I am going to freeze your account while I examine your recent activity log."

Actarus receiving the Potion of Celerity. Would have allowed a player to complete two actions in a single night (i.e., protect two people, investigate two people... kill two people). Of course, Actarus had no night actions.

He was out to get information once again. He walked through the woods, trying to avoid aggro, as he searched for his target.

He was successful, in that he avoided the mobs and npcs in the area. He did not, however, avoid his killer.

Thunk. The arrow struck masterded in the back of the head. He dropped to the ground, completely out of hit points.

"BOOM! HEADSHOT!

The killer jumped up. He started flexing. Then he did the chicken dance around his victim, screaming: "BOOM! HEADSHOT!"

Nearby, the shadows were alive with movement. Some of movements were, however, more graceful than others. "Oops! Sorry!" one cloaked figure said, as it stumbled over another. "Shhh. Quiet."

The killer turned and looked. Couldn't see anyone around. Oh well. Time to celebrate!

"BOOM! HEADSHOT! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH! OW! OW! OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!"

His celebration would continue. And continue. And continue. And...

Prophet killing Masterded, who was hoping to investigate midnightnick.

Others nodded. They readied their gear.

She walked up to one avatar. "Remember that time we had together at the Gates of Albion?"

She approached another. "And what about that midnight rendevous we had at the entrance to the Imp's Cave?"

And then another. "And you... I can't even name all the nights in Blood Dunes that we shared."

And for a moment, the players paused. She was right. Those were good times.

"Guys. She's playing you now, just like she did then. Let's end this." The voice was one of reason and authority. The players of the realm knew that he was right.

With a heavy heart, they charged Gonvick.

First successful lynch for the town. Gonvick used his vote manipulation to delay the vote... and Prophet's vote didn't count (see his role)... but The Aussie was a double voter, so it didn't matter.

And suddenly, he was frozen.

His target was sitting under a table, hiding. Interestingly, he appeared to be AFK.

"LOL!"

The killer squated and poked his opponent in the chest with a dagger. No movement. Yeah, he was AFK.

"n00b!"

Poke. Poke. Poke. He took his time, slowly removing his victim's hitpoints and adding the occassional "nooblet, lol, and loser" to add verbal insult to virtual injury.

After 5 minutes of poking, Lostrelms was out of hitpoints. He collapsed to his side.

You go almost unseen! Actually, you're stealther skills are a bit lacking. People can see you coming from 5 or 6 feet away! You're still learning, but it'll be awhile before you're as good as Glotnot. Fortunately, he is currently mentoring you and you can speak to Glotnot outside of the thread.

Each night, you may select a target to hide behind. To do so, PM the mods with your target.

Other players will be unable to target you while you are hidden. However, because your stealthing skills are slightly underdeveloped, the player that you hide behind has a 50% chance of detecting your presence. If they detect your presence, they will a receive a PM that states that you were seen lurking around them at night. If the player that you were hiding behind targets you and detects your presence, they will receive the above message and will successfully perform whatever night action that they desired.

Moreover, if you hide behind a player that is not a Casual Gamer and they detect you, they will kill you.

You win when all threats to the Casual Gamers are eliminated.

They circled around the man. He tried to defend himself. "Whoa, whoa, whoa! It wasn't me. My connection isn't very good and I cut in and out. So of course it wasn't me! I lag all the time, there's no way I could make a l33t kill like that."

And then... they paused. But only momentarily. "Did he just say... leet? Hmm. He doesn't look laggy to me. Get him!"

Prophet responded defiantely, as they dragged him down. He yelled: "Yeah, all right, I admit it! And pretending to be some lowly casual guildie made me sick. I killed Masterded, and I did it well. Damn well. You may think killing me will do you some good, but you will miss me. You will miss basking in the glory and wonder that is my l337 skeelz! And not one of you will ever live up to the same atmosphere of my awesomeness! Bunch of n00bs, hiding in trees!

Boom!

Headshot!"

And then he was dead.

Totally Glots fault! *Shakes fist* Ruined our whole plan, killed me at the peak of my awesomeness ... it's all so very tragic! :(

That really was a fun game, though. I'm glad my final post could make it into my death scene. I wanted to be an all out jerk, but doing it while trying to blend in would've been difficult. Once I knew I was going down, though, I had to glory hog it up once. lol

Night fell over the realm once more. One man once again slipped into the shadows, hoping to continue to help the town. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be.

Another successful delivery. Hmm, a COD item delivery service? That could have potential on ebay.

Astil sending the Paladin's Shield to Glotnot. Allowed for one-time protection role. Glot never got to use it though.

Once again, a familiar scene:

"Very well."

In an instant, the ghostly figure was across the field.

"Greetings player. I am Customer Service Representative Peppercorn. I have recently received some complaints about your behavior. I am going to freeze your account while I examine your recent activity log."

He jumped out of the shadows. Stealth mode slowed him down. He needed to find his target.

He ran along, hiding behind trees and boulders. Almost there. He was moving fast, jumping in and out of stealth mode, hoping to get across the valley unnoticed.

"Gotcha n00b!"

A hand grabbed him, pulling him out of stealth mode. The dagger was quickly placed in the side of Glotnot's neck, dropping him down to the ground.

"LOL! Dood!!111! Ur so dead. LOLOLOLOLOL!"

Not surprising that Glot was targeted, I think... given that he had to out himself to get the lynch on Prophet through.

Solid play by Glot. Toss up between him and masterded and widowmaker, I think, for townie of the game.

You go unseen! You are one of the most experienced stealthing characters on the server. You've taken it upon yourself to help out other players, however, and spend a lot of your time giving advice and assistance to newbie stealthers.

Each night, you may make yourself invisible and follow another player. To do so, PM the mods with your target.

You are an excellent stealther and will receive lists related to both tracking and watching. Unfortunately, you are frequently interrupted by private messages from noobs, and this can really distract you. Because you're so distracted, you will receive a list of players that were around your target each night. You will not know which players were targeting your target and which players were targeted by your target.

One of the stealthers in training Lostrelms, has taken it upon himself to participate in the current affair. You may communicate with him outside the thread.

You win when all threats to the Casual Gamers are eliminated.

Wasn't sure how the watching/tracking combination would work. Figured it made him more powerful, but also could give him more confused results. Seemed to be something of a non-issue, ultimately.

A little too quiet.

They poked and prodded at him.

No response.

They gathered around and made threatening gestures. They even made funny faces.

No response.

Then they stabbed Midnightnick with their steely knives. Turns out that they could kill the beast.

Widowmaker, who exchanged messages with other players at night, had been given a bit of info from Glotnot in the previous phase. Deduced, at this point, that midnightnick and gruntmark were likely to be the last two scum.

You are the young, trash talking gamer that every mature gamer hates. Whether it be on xbox live or an MMO on the PC, you're always there to tell folks exactly how much they suck, using your special mixture of giggling, profanity and a cracking voice. Of course, you're only talking trash because it's true. The Gank Guild really is better than everyone else.

Your fellow guildmembers include Gruntmark the Vindictive Guild Master, Prophet the Insufferable Glory Hog, and Gonvick the Jealous Gossip Queen. You may communicate with them outside of the thread using any method.

Each night, you may choose to roleblock a target via the method of verbal berating. To do so, PM the mods with your target.

Also, you should know that the GM may send you out to perform the Night Kill. If he does so, you are unable to roleblock any targets that night.

Ended up being the main hitman... which was good for me, as they made for easy night write-ups.

SuperOwens/Astil giving the Cloak of Shadows to Widowmaker. Would have allowed him to be untargetable for a single night. And Widowmaker actually could have actually used it :p

Everyone talks crap on the internet. But they wouldn't dare say those things to you in person! You've reached a boiling point and you're just not sure that you can tolerate any more of these fake tough guys.

The next time one of these punks talks crap, you're going to take them out... in real life.

You have no night abilities. If, however, you are killed, you will smash your computer in a blind rage, fly out to your in-game killer's real life house, and beat them senseless the end of the following day phase, thus removing them from the game as well.

You win when all threats to the Casual Gamers are eliminated.

I love Internet Tough Guys, so had to have something about them in the game. Went for the delayed bomb instead of the instant bomb, to account for the "flying out there to find them" aspect of the role.

He'd almost made it through the day. They made an early rush at him, but he dodged their accusations with ease. If he could make it to the night, he'd make them suffer.

But it was clear that they weren't going to let this man go. One man had his finger on the trigger. He was itching for some action. He was itching to scream his name and charge into battle. But he never got the chance to do so.

The leader of the Casual Gamers stepped forward. "We do this by the numbers and we'll all make it out of this alive." Of course, today he was making a sacrafice. For the Casual Gamers to win as a whole, independently, he would have to lose.

With a plan in place, they attacked GruntMark. He held them off for awhile. After all, you don't lead the most successful Gank Guild in Server history by sucking. But the attack was surgical and soon, he was dead. What a crappy night.

His night was about to get a whole lot worse.

Those n00bs had killed him! He'd lost to a bunch of PVE Carebears! Oh, how embarressing!

*DING-DONG*.

Someone was at the door. Probably the pizza delivery man, he thought to himself.

He opened the door. This was no pizza delivery man. Instead, it was a large muscle-made mountain of a man, wearing a black leather jacket and dark sun glasses. He was very terminator-esque.

The man looked down at a list in his hand. "Do you play Dark Age on the World of Grey Dog Quest as..." He looked at the list again. "... GruntMark?"

The young man was confused. This was strange. "Uh, yeah, I do actually."

The large man lunged into the house and grabbed its inhabitant by the shirt. "So, you're some sort of tough guy, huh?!"

"Wha...what are you talking about?"

"Yeah, I play that game too. I go by bak42. And I'm sick of you Internet Tough Guys. Always talking trash about how bad you are! About how tough you are! About how you'd F-me up if we met in real life! Well, punk, this is real life! Now mess me up!"

"Uh... dude, it's a game!"

The man shoved him back. "Yeah, that's what I thought. You're just a scared piece of crap. And I pieces of crap like you for breakfast?"

bak42 seemed satisfied, happy to have put this Internet Tough Guy in his place.

"You eat pieces of crap for breakfast?" Why? Why did those words come out of his mouth?

GruntMark doubled over in pain, as bak42 slammed his knee into his stomach. Then he was shoved to the ground. bak42 looked at the man for a moment. He thought about kicking him while he was down. He thought about really, really hurting him. But he decided that it wasn't worth it.

Instead, he stomped through GruntMark's house. He found his computer. He jerked the tower off the ground and launched it into an expensive 24-inch monitor. Then he picked up again, and flung it through a nearby window.

And with that, he felt satisfied.

Grunt's lynch scene + Bak's bomb going off.

The game was going to end on this phase, regardless of whether the lynch happened (if the town didn't lynch Grunt, bak was going to kill him).

However, The Aussie's win condition required that he kill the Reckless Hothead (Actarus). It was possible that he might have lead a lynch against him, so I had to let the day phase happen, even though I knew that the mafia had already lost.
