Regarding bak, while I don't fully trust the guy, I'm not sure sacrificing him is the wisest course of action. My greatest fear is exits being changed / cut off due to gratuitous property damage that 50 foot monsters tend to inflict. I'm assuming bak can get any changes to exits (exits being closed, new exits opening up), and thats useful info that could be the difference between survival and death.

However, keeping an eye on the guy would probably be wise.

See, that's what worries me. What if he DOESN'T actually get any info radioed in to him. What if he just looked at the map and said "okay folks, these three obvious locations are the escape routes."

And then I found the Midtown Tunnel to Queens. When asked about it he was just like "umm... oh yeah, there's also that one! I didn't tell anyone so I could save it for myself."

And that's what bothers me. Maybe he was planning on saving it for himself, or maybe it slipped his mind to include the tunnel in a lie and he's now adding things on as he goes along.

And why can't we take the Queensboro Bridge or the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel out of town? Are they off limits, or are we going to find out later on that they are actually the EDF's plans B and C should we discover the Queens Midtown Tunnel?

I don't know, maybe those are the only locations that the EDF have people at. All I know is that there are currently 4 escape routes from the island. There were 4 available at 7:00 pm and there were no changes in the 8:00 pm status report and none in the 9:00 pm status report.

Green? (EDF/Godzilla folks)

So my next question even if it has been asked already... Cloverfieldians, do you guys know each other outside the thread? Or at least know who each of you guys are? And if so, is UFC one of you because I (like others) can't see him being part of your colour alignment if he isn't part of your group OR movie.

I protect, but I can't say where I am because it simply becomes a game of follow the lizard. However, if I run into a monster, instead of it eating someone, I fight them, protecting the area.

I don't think it was me, as my pm doesn't say the citizens of NY will sacrifice their own to me, however, I am a giant monster being used to try to protect the city, so maybe sacrificing people to me appeases me to fight the Kong. I don't know.

That's assuming they move like me. They might not, they might stay close to where they are. And my movement is so wide, as to try to bounce between them. I'm not entirely sure.

I mean, as far as I can tell (again from reading, not from watching) it was basically serendipity that he got monster footage at all, as he was trying to run away. So why would he be purposely heading towards the monsters?

Regarding a Battle Royale game... it would be brutal. You have the 40 people to begin with, the map from the book/manga, killzones that activate every so often, each person has a weapon, and the game would end if either one person was left, a particular team survived, or if the mod got killed.

With that said, they could have gone the prequel route, but I guess going into the far future and saying the immortals were aliens, then pretending Connor never won the prize...only DC comics continuity is more screwed up in my opinion. :p

Yeah, but there's so many ways they could've franchised it. We're talking eons of history, why not explore another immortal? The Highlander concept was so awesome, and then they made everyone an alien, and it became lame! They thought MacLeod was the reason it made money, and it's not.

Monsters aren't the only danger in Manhattan. He was living proof of that. He was resigned to his fate, most likely he would never make it out of the city alive. But while here might as well get as much as he could, right?

He stalked up behind the other man, swiftly pulling the metal pipe against his throat.

Trapped the other man couldn't even speak, much less put up any resistance.

"Give me your money!"

The other man said nothing.

Still nothing. Frustrated the man let his victim go, but as the other man gasped for air, he took the metal pipe and swung as hard as he could. Striking the man in the knee cap.

Interesting... in what way do you help? Seems we have a lot of people claiming protectory types and someone of your group was already caught lying during this phase... and to be fair, the write up of the person beign mugged is very generic, it doesn't clear anyone of being good, it only incriminates the attacker as being bad.

Of the 4 people dead, 3 were from monsters. We know that Clover killed Self, and that Kong killed SO. Also, it was never ruled out that Clover killed Shigakai (although it would mean it can move at least 3 spaces an hour, but that maybe because it went after the sacrifice).

Was it ever confirmed that either Godzilla or Kong is in Chelsea right now?

my thing is why is the game called destoy all monsters if we are suppose to depend on one?

Considering this game has a character hunting women, a character mugging people, and a character who killed someone, because that person ruined the big expo of their captured giant ape, maybe the term "monster" isn't meant to simply imply large beings who don't look human, but all those who aren't good people?

I was debating this yesterday, actually, and it has nothing to do with the Prophet debate..

But the game is called DESTROY all Monsters...

Alrighty folks, its the moment of truth for Derek Zoolander!

I'll try and help with any conversations/discussions during this "night" phase, but I have my opportunity to escape and I'm taking it. After all, I'm not much use to anyone else unless you count what little I add to conversations that is actually relevant.

March 4; 10:00PM - 910:45PM

He was a good cop; a diligent officer of the law. He’d find the one preying on the innocent and ensure they’d never harm another again. Unfortunately for him, the beast was on a search of his own.

Not a search for anyone or thing in particular but one of death and destruction. And at this time, the officer would feel the weight of that.

The beast bound from rooftop to rooftop watching as the officer searched for something. From high above it made no difference what or who the officer searched for. It only mattered that he was one of them, a human, the people that ripped him from his home.

He watched as the officer searched an empty building. Readying himself the beast waited. As the officer emerged from the building the beast leapt in the air, jumping to the street below. The 30 foot ape came crashing down hard, right on top of the officer crushing and killing the man instantly.

As people scrambled throughout Manhattan, the chaos continued to swirl around them. Some were out to help, others chose to worry about only themselves; but in this hour a few would become re-united with loved ones and allies.

He waited for his eventual death. Perched upon the rooftop like a carrot on a stick, it was only a matter of time, he thought, until one of them would come for him. And so he was content to wait.

But fate seemed to be forgiving in this moment. “They” never came. As the realization came to him, he began to work himself free of the ties that bound him. So he could once again move about the city.

She heard the footsteps and afforded herself a small smile. She knew he would come; he couldn’t let her die like this. As the footsteps drew near, she began to call out.

“Rob……….Over…..Over here…….hurry”

But when she saw the grinning devilish face that emerged from the shadows she was stricken with fear.

“I’m sorry, but I’m not Rob,” he said as he wrenched the woman free from the rebar protruding from her chest. “And with what is going on in the city tonight. I doubt Rob is on his way to see you.”

The woman fumbled with the phone in her right hand, blindly she dialed the number. It was much easier than one would think, as she had been dialing that number multiple times a day for several years now.

She watched as the man, pulled a small CD player and a knife from his backpack. Terrified she was dumbfounded by the man’s simple question.

“Do you like music?”

She nodded.

“Good, there’s a band I would love for you to hear.” He pressed play, placing the earphones on the woman’s head. As he did he noticed the glow of the green light emanating from her cell phone. “Well what do we have here?” He picked up the phone, but rather than throw the device away, he answered.

“Rob, is it?”

On the other end the young man was taken by surprise. He hadn't expected to hear the voice of another man, one whose voice he certainly didn't recognize. “Where is Beth?”

“Ah, Beth, such a lovely name. I told her you probably weren’t on your way here to save her; but it appears I may have been wrong.

That said I’m afraid you can’t speak to her at the moment. She’s indisposed.”

With panic beginning to set in, Rob screamed “Who are you and what have you done with her!”

“Me?

The names Patrick Bateman, and I must tell you. I’m quite insane” he offered along with a boisterous almost maniacal laugh.

“As for Beth, she’s currently taking in the hard rock sound of Blue Oyster Cult. We were about to have a discussion about the bands place in rock history. Perhaps you’d like to join.”

The young man was speechless at the odd request.

“Anyway, the band got their name from a little known poem from the 60’s. Written by Sandy Pearlman the poem described the Blue Oyster Cult as a collection of aliens. This fits well with the often used Occult and Sci-fi subject matter of many of the bands songs.
Forming in 1967, Blue Oyster Cult, can be looked at as pioneers in early heavy metal music, similar to Deep Purple or Kansas.”

As he continued to lecture about the merits of Blue Oyster Cult to the young man over the phone, Bateman gripped the knife in his right hand and calmly approached the young woman sitting before him.

“The pinnacle of their career of course being the 1976 release of Agents of Fortune, with such hits as Summer of Love and E.T.I. And of course Don’t Fear the Reaper. Fear the Reaper of course was met by a swirl of controversy by those that misinterpreted it’s lyrics as advocating a pro-suicide agenda. But, and this is where I think you should take considerable note Rob, the real message behind the song was one of a deep and everlasting love. One that could transcend time, and, even death. So, see Rob, even death, won’t stand in the way of yours and Beth’s love.”

With a sudden lunge, Bateman plunged the knife into Beth’s stomach. On the other end of the line, Rob was helpless to stop it. All he could do was cry as he heard the moans and screams of the one he loved as she faced her final moments.

“Remember Rob, Don’t Fear The Reaper. Your eternal love will live on, even through Beth’s death. As for me I think it's time I left this city.” And then with the press of a button, she was gone.

And still she trudged on. Her shoulder on fire, her legs wobbly. She had made little progress but she was vigilant. Even the blood streaming from her eyes wouldn’t stop her from finding her children and guiding her family through yet another misadventure.

He looked into the blackness of the tunnel before him. No doubt the trek into the darkness would be a harrowing experience, but even he knew the dangers of the tunnel were far less than those of Manhattan. He took his first step into the abyss, when he felt the ground begin to shake.

The monstrosity was here.

He heard the roar and felt the resulting gale of wind rustle through his spiky black hair. But he was not afraid. As if in slow motion the man turned, to his left and faced the monstrosity head on.

His gaze strong, his lips puckered, he unleashed the Magnum.

And in that instance the monstrosity paused. For what reason, none can be sure, but slowly the being turned and headed back to the heart of Manhattan. Leaving the ridiculously very, very, very, very, good looking man to make his escape.

Evening all... few things I want to go over. Frist, monsters. If anyone can add to this then feel free to. I think Kong was on the upper west side early on too, but can't prove it. SOMEONE can though, as he was chasing the same player for the first 2 movement phases.

CLOVERFIELD
Start: Lower Manhattan (probably) -> Little Italy (kill Self) -> ??? -> ??? -> Midtown East (Magnumed by Comradebot)

Seems to move two spaces at once, killing one person in the space it ends it's movement it. Also seems to leave parasites, perhaps in space it moved through.


KONG
Start: Theatre District -> ??? -> ??? -> Chelsea (kill SuperOwens) -> (kill MJD)

Unknown movement? Seems to kill one person that ends up in the same space as it, failed to kill same person during first two moves.

Can move freely, can eat people. Supposedly on our side with no evidence to support that except that he was set on the town by the EDF (bak42, caught in 1 lie) and widowmaker (un-cooperative).

Widowmaker never claimed EDF.

I am starting to wonder if there are people playing Kong and Cloverfield though.
